Interviewed 11/16 and haven’t heard back so I doubt any December interviews have heard back. I would guess February for you based on the fact that most November interviews haven’t heard yet.

Can anyone shed light on Penn State's two interviews? Is it like a good cop, bad cop kind of situation? Do they ask different questions from each other? Is it simply a way for them to get two opinions on applicants? Thanks!

Both of mine were almost identical. Just traditional, conversational interviews. They are just trying to get to know you better, no trick questions or ulterior plots.

Both of my interviews were very relaxed and conversational. The faculty members that interviewed me seemed to be selected very specifically based on their fields or experiences and the information within my file, which made it very easy to converse (this could’ve just been a coincidence but I don’t think it was). They asked some of the same questions (why medicine/why penn state, etc), but most of the questions were different and based on my activities or experiences from my app.

Considering majority of applicants (including myself) have been put on hold I don’t really see a lot of them turning into interviews. Either invest in other schools or prepare for reapplication if this was your best chance 🙁

Is it worth sending an email to the adcom emphasizing my interest in this school? I know they stated that they dont accept updates/LOI's. I got put on hold in december 🙁

I echo this question. I want to start sending letters of interest to the schools that I have interviewed at. I saw that Penn State stated they do not accept updates. However, is it okay if I send them a letter of interest without stating any updates in it? Thanks in advance!

is the trend about 2 months post interview for decisions?
That’s what I read on their website when I was scheduling for an interview. They said we can expect to hear back in 8 - 10 weeks or something. So roughly 2 months. Someone on here previously mentioned that the decisions are released at the start and end of the month.

Do y’all know if Penn State favors thank you notes? They didn’t mention how to send them so I’m not sure if they accept them or not and how to send them if they do.

I sent an email to [email protected] with the thank you letters for my interviewers attached. My email just thanked the admissions team for the opportunity to interview at their school and asked them to forward my thank you letters. They responded to it and said they will forward my letters to the interviewers!

Hi! I don’t know if any accepted medical students have been in the same situation as me. I’m currently filling up my FAFSA application. I currently work as an MA and TA and I’ll be leaving both jobs in May. However, for student financials in FAFSA I’m reporting my current income even though it’ll stop soon as start classes. I was wondering if this will impact any financial aid or loans FAFSA might grant me for the school year and if so is there any way to avoid it?
Thanks!

I think they do. I found the emails of my interviewers by looking them up on Penn State's directory and one of them replied nicely!

One of the big admissions people is my small group facilitator - my understanding is yes, you absolutely should.
