Did anyone else get the "Requesting Confirmation of Interview Interest" email sent on 2/8? If so, have you heard back yet?

It sounds like they haven't yet reviewed all their applications from this cycle. Others from past Downstate sdn threads mentioned it, but I can't tell if it led to an ii or R.

Just to give some insight, I never received an email like that but I got an II recently.

Last year Downstate released a big wave the day after CYMS. I know they are not following the same pattern at all this year but as a desperate September interviewer with no A's I'm still holding out hope for now

My new revised guess is that they do their big release following president's day. Last year it was on the wednesday, the year before it was the tuesday. So hoping for today or tomorrow 😅 otherwise I give up 😒

Pretty sure the trend is also to release decisions before noon time, so probably aint gonna be today

Does downstate have an official fb page for accepted students already? I wanna peak in there to see how many people joined. The one existing now have 372 but that’s from previous years and had 370 for a long time. 2 joined last week

I think they accept prob 350 to 400 people so that they get a class of about 200. They said the FB page is from past years so prob shouldn't worry too much about that but idk

Yeah I think its the same one FB group and they just change the name every year to match the new class

I have my interview coming up and would love to know as I've interviewed at some programs who have released this info. Considering emailing admissions and asking if they can tell me who will be interviewing me but I'm not sure if its appropriate or not :/ any thoughts?

they sent me the zoom link info the day before my interview and my interviewer was cc’d in the email. the morning of the interview they sent a profile on them which is basically just their name lol

When they send you a Zoom invite link a few days before it lists the name of the Doctor who will be interviewing you

The email they sent me with my interviewer info went straight to my spam so check there too!

The only thing giving me hope that we will hear back soon is that only like 10 people posted their acceptances here and just based on the number of people in this thread and the number of people who posted their acceptances in past threads during the big A wave it seems like they have not sent all their pre-WL acceptances yet and that maybe Friday (or next week lol) they will send the A. I hope I'm making some sort of sense and not just coping super hard

From what I could tell from the 2018-19 thread, there were barely any A's posted in all of feb and march. Most assumed that they already released their decisions and the A's just never posted. Could be whats happening now

But every other year (and this year) people have been posting a bunch of As

This process is honestly so demoralizing and draining. I just hope we hear some time soon, and I wish they were more transparent.

I called the admissions office a few minutes ago. They basically said they’re sending out acceptances every week, and then as people decline their acceptances they send out more as more seats open up. I tried to get a specific date out of him that they would release a big wave but he just said “there’s a range of dates.” Hopefully we’ll all hear soon 🙁

Just want to bring this back to front of the thread. Doesn’t sound like there is gonna be a big release this year. I’m sure we are going to see more acceptances trickle out over next week or two

If they did accept all the applicants they are accepting before WL, wouldn't there be more people in here asking about accepted student groupme and stuff like that? It seems like every other school thread has that except this one and I feel that there is enough people in this thread where there would be a decent amount of people asking about it.

Also to vent, did anyone else tell their parents/friends that they would hear back by mid-feb and now are just in an awkward position telling every one that they haven't heard back yet? It's just annoying not having a set date especially since its non rolling so shouldn't they have it better planned!

Literally every friend and family member has been giving me that look whenever i see them cuz of this. Or they will not so subtly ask me “anything new going on?”

Well, n=2 but the other SUNY's i interviewed at gave me a decision within 4 weeks as promised. Downstate kinda sucks in this regard

Its a little frustrating because at the January virtual chat I distinctly remember they said that they were in the process of rendering decisions and that we should hear "in the next 3 weeks" or "mid february", so I wonder what changed since then.
