I was interviewed in late Oct and am wait listed for this School. When is the earliest WL decisions revealed?
sporadically throughout the cycle!I was interviewed in late Oct and am wait listed for this School. When is the earliest WL decisions revealed?
Thank you!sporadically throughout the cycle!
Obviously do whatever feels best for you! For what it's worth, my vote would be to send your thank you notes right after the interview and add in a sentence or two about why you think Wayne is a good match for you, but wait on the update letter. There's probably not a lot of new information this close to your interview anyway. And that way, if you are waitlisted, you can send the update later. Is it smart to send an update letter after the interview so that it can be reviewed when adcom is making an admissions decision? Or should it be saved until later for a possible WL?
Okay thank you so much! To be fair I do have some pretty significant updates but I think I agree that it would be nice to have a substantial update later if I need oneObviously do whatever feels best for you! Wondering the same thingis there fb or groupme for admitted students?
I know they have insane WL movement so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a lot, but since the class is around 300 I don't think it's quite that much?Do yall know if MSAR saying 300 of 600 on the waitlist get A's is accurate?
Someone should start oneWondering the same thing

I found this Wayne State University School of Medicine- Class of 2027. Only a dozen people in it thoSomeone should start one
I've had over a dozen friends on the waitlist and all but 1 got off. She got into Michigan so she pulled her name from the list. It's a huge school so there's a good chance you'll get in! My old roommate got off the week before classes started.I know they have insane WL movement so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a lot, but since the class is around 300 I don't think it's quite that much?
I don’t think so. They explicitally state at the tour that they are not taking attendance and the guy who did my tour was just a student with no bearing on admissions.Just got an invite for a tour for applicants that have already interviewed. Does anyone know if attending a tour is a way to express interest if I am currently waitlisted? I’m trying to weigh whether I can afford to fly across the country
I agree! I have started a GroupMe for accepted class of 2027! GroupMeSomeone should start one
I emailed and they mentioned that they will open up dates but do not know when yetWill there be other tours for interviewed students? The slots for January got filled pretty fast.
Cool thank you so muchI emailed and they mentioned that they will open up dates but do not know when yet
I mean that means over 100 left to give out! there's still hope for sure! it's only DecemberMSAR says 1410 interviews in total were done last year, and currently on Wayne's website it states 1257 interviews were requested. Is it time to pack up our bags and leave?🤠

Wayback machine shows that on June 27th of this year, they had 1510 interviews last cycle.I do not think that MSAR is updated. I applied to Wayne last year and recall 1700+ interviews requested with about 1500 complete
If I remember correctly from my student panel, they said a car is optional during M1 and M2 but will make life much easier during rotations/M3.Does anyone know if it is recommended to have a car when starting M1?
Pretty sure during the interview they said it was recommended. I lived in Detroit for a little while and think a car is absolutely necessary.Does anyone know if it is recommended to have a car when starting M1?
the students i talked to said it is recommended to have a car throughout but that you -could- get around M1 without one if neededDoes anyone know if it is recommended to have a car when starting M1?
As the previous posters said a car is recommended. As a metro Detroit native, the public transportation outside of Detroit is definitely something to be desired. A car will make your life SO much easier if you want to explore the suburbs (which have pretty diverse food scenes, as well as fun things to do, etc. to destress)Does anyone know if it is recommended to have a car when starting M1?
Current M3 here. A car is basically required during M3 and M4. Almost every clinical site will require you to travel to a satellite location for outpatient clinics at some point during your training.Does anyone know if it is recommended to have a car when starting M1?
