Unfortunately, being placed on hold means we will likely not get an II this season. I don't recall anyone ever getting off hold in prior years

Yeah this one stings for me. IS, went to all their open houses, and tried my hardest to get in here. Sucks, but best of luck to everyone that wasn't booted today! Don't lose hope yet - no news is good news.

has anyone gotten a hard R from Maryland? Or do they only do these soft Rs and keep you there till the end of interview season
LM 73 (516 MCAT, 3.89 GPA, 3.94sGPA) strong volunteering and clinical, decent shadowing.
They sent the soft R in December, then the hard R March in last season.

From digging around previous threads and asking some buddies who are MS1s at UMD, it’s pretty much 0. Not to say there isn’t a chance, but mentally I’m just gonna take it as an R and move on. If you have substantial updates it might help to submit an update letter.
