2023-2024 Pittsburgh

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I went to a PCAT session in October and the application came out the next week so I submitted ASAP. You could apply and withdraw your application for the program if the info session isn't what you thought it would be, but since there's no deadline for submissions, I thought submitting as soon as possible was ideal.
Thanks so much, I appreciate your advice!

When I went to the PCAT info session they said it doesn't matter when you apply as long as it is before their deadline sometime in February. If I were you I would wait until after you had the info session, because it allows you to evaluate if you really want to apply for the program and also to find out more about what they are looking for.

Thank you for that info, I think I will wait until after the session then! I appreicate it!

Does anyone know if the student and the faculty interviewers are both blind to MCAT and GPA. I was reading the forum from last year and that seems to be the case. I was under the impression that only the student interviewer was blind to this information, so I wanted to check.

Faculty sees primary app and student is blind to everything. Primary app has your scores so they may see it, not sure tho since I don’t rember them specifying anything about mcat and gpa.

Thanks so much! You seem to be the resident expert for all things PittMed so I appreciate all your insight!!

Last nervous question! Will the interview zoom link appear on the "interview management" tab of my application portal or will I receive an email? Thank you!

I've noticed that my PSTP app status switched from "Ready For Screening" to something like "Under review" (don't remember the exact wording) and now back to "Ready For Screening". Anyone else notice this?

Is it too late to send a post interview update if I interviewed end of October? Pitt is the top choice of any of my interviews and the post ii acceptance rate is so low 😅

I think given your interview date, it’s likely a preliminary decision has been made and the update wouldn’t have impact, but what do I know?

Guys, I can't seem to find the interview Zoom link on the Interview Management tab on the site. Someone please help

Where are people getting these numbers? I was under the impression it was closer to 25-30

Last years acceptance stats straight from their website.

Rip, maybe I got dat post-II R so they're not even bothering w/ my PSTP app
I am probably just tweakin but does anybody else see "Ready For Screening" under their PSTP application status? Pls help me sleep peacefully tonight

isnt the PSTP process independent of admissions, though? I was under the impression that they would still extend an interview to you regardless of your regular admissions decision, but you just cant get admitted to PSTP if you get the R

From previous threads it seems like PSTP considers only those who were either waitlisted or accepted for an interview

Wait but then why do we wait until February for decisions 😭 idk i guess i thought they don't make an immediate decision after our interview and that PSTP interviews whoever they're interested in
