Does anyone know how NJMS weighs interviews for ED specifically? Dean Heinrich mentioned in the Session with the Deans that NJMS heavily pre screens before sending II for ED.
I think all this means is that if you are offered an interview, they have a good feeling about you. As it was said to a broad group of candidates, I wouldn't think much of it
Does that mean a good interview gets you in and a bad interview sinks you?
This is probably a good assumption, irrespective of the institution/program
Also, does anyone know the Post II acceptance rates for ED? The total Post II Acceptance rate is about 50% according to some data from last year, but that isn't ED specific, which I hear is higher.
I've heard the number 60% thrown around for post II acceptance rate for ED. could be wrong tho

Good points that you've made. I did also see that 60% number thrown around, but I believe that was the percentage of people that got in ED out of those that applied ED. The difference being that Im curious what percent of people that actually interviewed ED got in, as some people had to have been rejected/ deferred prior to II.

Honestly just super nervous as I really want to go here and I can't take this wait anymore 🙁

ahh yeah i see what you mean, i think it's between a range of 60-80% but that's not helpful lol. either way, good luck, it'll all work out!

RD II LM 83 complete 7/29, really nervous because my interview is literally this Monday

I've heard that approximately 25% of ED applicants receive an II while about 60% of ED interviewees are accepted.

It took 3+ weeks after my interview to get accepted so don't lose hope!

Only 25% receive II? That's really low considering everyone has to reach out to Heinrich before applying

Do they give you an option for meet the deans? I only saw one date and it doesn’t work well for me so I’m not sure what to do :/

It’s every Wednesday I believe. If you really can’t do it the day closest to your interview email them and let them know but make sure to do it the week after. I don’t know for sure but I feel like they take that stuff personally

Can I get an opinion for people? I applied RD last year and ended up on High Priority WL with MCAT 510 (129/125/128/128). Dean Heinrich told me the major red flag on my application is my 125 CARS. He said I am a solid ED applicant, and was happy that I am willing to retake to improve my CARS section. My score came out today with 511 (130/127/127/127) disappointed because my B/B and P/S were 129 - 131 on practice. I am scared that I will be scrutinized over these drops. What do you fellow ED applicants/accepted think?

I can't give you a definite answer, but I do have some ideas regarding this:

1) You did address the deficiency in your MCAT score that was mentioned. A 125 to a 127 is a solid move in terms of percentile placement on the CARS section. As a result, your section breakdown is now much more balanced. Given that the CARS section is generally the hardest section to improve upon, this is awesome!

2) I wouldn't sweat the one point loss in the P/S section too much, I remember Dean Heinrich told me that this section is the least heavily weighted section by NJMS admissions.

3) Overall, I'd say if he told you you were a great fit for ED originally, and you worked to address the concerns from last cycle, that's great! HPWL from last cycle means admissions was definitely interested in you and would have accepted you, but there weren't any seats left unfortunately...

For me it was to address deficiencies in my 1st interview, but from what I can gather it's very applicant dependent.
By chance was there a second person during your first interview that was evaluating your interviewer? I had this happen to me and i wonder if that makes I’ll also get a second interview.

It's a 1 point drop on both. Is that even considered a drop? AMCAS says +/- 1 on each section for the range they think students are at. You did exactly what he asked of you to do. I don't think you need to worry.

Why don’t you just meet with Dean Heinrich again and see what he says. I doubt it could hurt.

LOL. I have a 124 CARS score and just submitted a secondary here yesterday. After reading the thread I prob have no chance anymore..

I have a 124 CARS too. Why did they send me a II if they do cut offs like this? To hurt me?

Was your second interview focused on those deficiencies from the first interview? Or was it like a generalized interview again like the first. I have a 2nd interview coming up.

How long after your first interview did you get a second interview invite?

Wow that’s rough. I’m just under 2 weeks out from my interview and so anxious already

Focused on deficiencies from the first interview, but once again I've heard others have had different experiences.
