Should I be worried if I haven't gotten an II yet? My completion day was in mid June. Stats: LM 74, 2Q casper, ORM
For me, all communication from McGovern has been a good bit slower than other texas schools. Not exactly sure why, but could have something to do with the size of the school and the fact that it's public. If you're OOS, it might be even slower, though that needs a fact check.

For those of you who attended your pre-interview socials or will be soon, what are you wearing? is it business professional as well?

it was super casual, you can wear whatever you're comfortable in! I wore a sweatshirt, just look presentable and you're good ◡̈

currently freaking out my first interview was not good, I had a physican who just asked me a bunch of scripted questions, was not conversational at all, didn’t acknowledge anything I said, and I could barely understand her, she also cut me off right when the time hit 20 mins; feeling defeated hoping the second interview goes better cause McGovern is one of my top choices

my friend who is an MS1 at Mcgovern had the exact experience as you did in her first interview, but ended up prematching a month later. Don't feel defeated!

If it makes you feel any better, mine also ended the interview right at the 20 minute mark

I just received a "Secondary Application Received" email back when I submitted in July. Any of y'all who got an II get a completion email after that?

I did not receive any other emails after "Secondary Application Received" until I received my II.

Complete radio silence from this school even though I submitted 7/20. Will they still send out II's in the coming weeks? Definitely one of my top choice schools in-state, so I'm a little anxious I haven't heard anything from here. I have already heard from others (TTU, UTSW, BCM).

I was definitely anxious as well (I submitted in June and didn't hear until yesterday), but I would say have patience. Everything will work out!

(yes!)

For Mcgovern, the admissions email will cc your interviewers once you send them your thank you letter as well. I wasn't able to find an email for my second interviewer, but they also recommend just sending thank you letters directly to your interviewers.

I also can't find the email for my interviewer since it was a medical student. Did you just send it to the admissions team or through the portal?

Just interviewed today. Everybody was very welcoming and friendly. The interview for me was low-stress and very conversational. Other applicants said that they had been asked some curveball questions so be prepared. Overall, it was a very positive experience and would love to be accepted here.

Is it too early to send a letter of intent?
Yes, it is 🙂
Show your intent by ranking them #1 for the Match, and if you can't resist sending one wait at least until November or so because you might hear from them with a pre-match offer.

Any current McGovern students willing to answer a few questions? Thank you!

Hi!
I just submitted a publication at a journal (not super high impact factor or anything). It's still under review. Should I update McGovern now or later after I hear back? I haven't gotten an interview yet...submitted 7/20 LM 75.

I'm not sure which way you should go - I think someone else could offer better guidance, but I do wanna say that I'm right there with you. Not a peep from McGovern.....WHERE YOU AT McG?

Submits dont count, acceptances do. If your research is already mentioned, you need to know it was accepted first before you want to provide an update.

Not until it’s accepted

congrats! What did you change between last cycle and this to get the II

I had 0 interviews last cycle. I have 6 right now (2 TMDSAS DO, 2 TMDSAS MD, 2 AACOMAS.)

I took a long hard look at my application and tried to figure out why I didn’t get in. My stats were good (511, 3.75) but my clinical experience was pitiful. So I changed that. I got 200 hours of volunteering at a free clinic and 800 hours of scribing.

TLDR: found my weakness, strengthened that aspect of my application.

So question y'all. The web interview agreement should not be signed until interview day, correct?

I don’t think they say either way. Some people will sign it right when it’s out and some people won’t. I doubt it matters.

Ok cool, I was just trying to see when my interviewers times were. I know TTU El Paso said to only sign it on the day of.

I don’t think they care. They said you can view it the night before on one page and the morning of on another so it’s likely just whenever it launches. It wouldn’t hurt regardless because it’s never in their instructions lol! So I think you’re all good 🙂
