When we are applying to different Mayo campuses, do we keep our rank? For instance, if I wanted to rank AZ over MN and FL, would I still send that to MN and FL? I don't see how keeping a rank would be useful, and not come off as "I only want to attend X campus"

Hey guys. Do y’all have any advice for next cycle applicants? I only have 517 MCAT and limited research experience, not sure if I’d be a good fit.

There’s only one application for all campuses! Rank is taken into account but you are ultimately considered for all campuses you list interest in (choose to rank) on your application.

Anybody get an interest gauging email yet? Looking at past years it seems to get sent mid-late april to waitlist candidates they’re seriously considering but haven’t seen anyone report any this year?

How do you know your waitlist rank?

You’re essentially describing me. I got a pretty early interview and ended up on the AL. Write well, lean into your application strengths, articulate the research experience you do have (don’t exaggerate too much though), and highlight any research you would like to do at Mayo that aligns with a facility/strength area for them. I DID receive an A from a school of the same relative rank/prestige despite my lack of research. Don’t be afraid to apply for reach schools, but be selective by fit (~4-5 schools or ~10-15% of your school list). And don’t be so focused on reach schools that you neglect the quality of your target school applications. The goal is to get accepted, nobody really cares where your MD is from. A top tier school is just icing on the cake!
