I got sent an email starting like so:
You have received an Ohio State Username, your unique identifier for accessing university services and systems. Your Ohio State Username is [...].

So I'm confused...what exactly is this username for??

Yeah there are 2, one about vitals student portal (which I have to wait 3-ish days according to email) and then the one I quoted. They seem like 2 different usernames/portals. Vitals = accessing applicant information, but when I log in via the OSU identifier I have no idea what I'm looking at lmao

I personally did it from the lens of academia.
interesting, did you have experience within academia, or more so talking about teaching experiences that you enjoyed and how you wanted to apply it?

For the health inequities question do they just want a list or should we focus on describing an anecdote? I feel like if I mention an anecdote that would take up most of the word limit so not sure.

Yeah I think anecdote would be better then talk about the list of inequities tie together

by medical education do they mean education given to future medical students and doctors? or do they mean the education and information that we disseminate to the public? (something my narrative is kind of around)
I had the exact same question! Seems a bit preemptive to say we'll be teaching physicians, no? But that's what I think they mean

same, does that mean that we have to re-do anything? I submitted yesterday and set everything up today but now feel like I can't confirm that anywhere

did anyone receive some Ohio State username activation code email? I already submitted my secondary so Im confused what Im supposed to do here
I just followed the instruction to activate my username and now when I try to access my secondary again, there is nothing..im so confused

Just set up a vitals account, and all I see is "Your application is now complete." I literally don't know where my secondary is lmaoo

Any reapplicants to this school? I swear they gave me last years questions instead of this years question with reasons for health inequities. But I can't even see my answers anymore

I got verified 7/2. When should I follow up with them bc I haven't yet received a secondary.

did anyone else get an email saying to finish the app? I submitted and got email confirmation that my application was complete, I am so so confused

I just got an email about creating my Ohio State account. I just successfully activated it but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now. What is this account for?

Now I can't even access my secondary app. I submitted it earlier today. Now it's gone from the "find application" page

I submitted my secondary on 7/18, made an Ohio State account on 7/19 (still don't know what it's for), got an email on 7/21 saying to finish my application, and got a marked as complete email this morning.
Seems just like a messy secondary system, I wouldn't worry about it.

but now I can't even find my secondary application from the original website. Did this happen to you as well? And when you say "finish my application" is that what they mean by 3-5 business days for another email on checking app status?

I can't find my secondary either. Not sure what the follow up email was supposed to be, but it looked like a grad school portal with no mention of the medical school

Anyone mess up the apostrophe issue when copy-pasting? I copied from Word and checked afterwards to make sure there were no formatting errors, which there were not. After submitting, I checked my app again and the errors appeared. Might be neurotic, but are they going to throw out my app for this?

How can you view your application after submitting even? I’m in vitals and no longer see anything

I'm in the same boat. Looked at last year's thread and it looks like we should be fine, people who mentioned this problem got IIs. I figure it's just annoying to read so they have us troubleshoot, but since it's a known issue they haven't fixed I don't think it's that big of a deal

that's reassuring, thanks

I had no problem logging on to the typical secondary portal and viewing all the parts of my application, maybe there's a glitch on yours?

I am listing a few and then focussing on two that I have seen firsthand. 🤷‍♀

Am i toast? Their application portal is so glitchy and it warned me to check my essays after saving them in the portal so that it wouldn't accidentally insert ??? in place of other punctuation marks, and I did/everything was fine, but then after I submitted my secondary, I went back to look at it and it was RIDDLED with question marks. Should I email their adcom to politely be like, "these punctuation errors do not represent me" or something? I am so frustrated that the portal did that, makes my responses look like jokes...

You should be fine. Mine ended up the same way. Last year people had the same problem and some of those who mentioned it ended up getting IIs. It is and has been a known issue. oh that's good to know, thank you!

Is everyone still not seeing their application status in their myosu.edu account?

For anyone wondering about the question marks glitch, I made the same mistake and called the admissions office about it. They emailed me back and said that the "majority of applicants have this issue" and that it "wouldn't affect my application at all." To be honest, I don't fully believe them bc I'd be surprised if truly most applicants make this mistake but it definitely means it's not as big of a deal as I thought.

is that community medicine prompt correct? why would it ask the same exact question as the family medicine track?
