any financial aid offers out yet?
I’m pretty sure neomed only offers fin aid offers to people who have matriculated. They mentioned that in one of the emails sent out in December.

Is this a good sign for those of us on the AL?
Probably. This likely means they are anticipating more people taking other offers than usual. Or more people have already begun to withdraw to the point where they want to interview more people to make sure they don't run out of options to fill the class. Maybe BBB has something to do with it

That OOS tuition is crazzzyyyyyy combined with the BBB. Good thing I've been Ohiomaxxing the past year and am now a resident.

I hope they start extending offers of the AL soon if yield is bad, looking at last years thread, WL movement was basically non existent IS end of April early May. I hope this year is different in that timeframe

I’m not sure why they haven’t offered any seats to AL people yet. In previous years it seems like they always had at least a small cohort taken off the AL before April but this year it’s been silent. Hopeful that they are just saving majority of AL movement for May.

It probably doesn't do them much difference to pull now vs later, a lot of initial decisions are still up in the air

Scroll up a bit, it seems as if fin aid is offered after matriculation for this school
Thanks! It is so weird tho that they dont give offers before. You literally cant choose between two schools based on finances this way. I really want to go here but if another OH school gives me more money, there's no guarantees

Somone on the admit forum for this school who is matriculating here just said there is 173 people on the roster. Said that they are not sure if they are all matriculating, but that they all have a Neomed email associated with their name. Said the incoming class is around 200. If those 173 are definitely attending then it might be over. Just keeping yall updated since no one is saying anything. This could all be wrong, but I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read that.

My jaw just about dropped when I saw that number. I feel that those 173 people are just those that still hold an acceptance and could still very well withdraw before April 30. Movement on this thread has been very similar to previous years and they usually accept 280 people off the AL. Plus some of these late IIs tell me that they need more people to fill some of their seats whether in the MD program or one of their EA masters programs. This could just be a major cope but I’m choosing to stay hopeful!

Believe me, I hope that person was wrong and that you’re right. I had to wipe my eyes to make sure I saw the number correctly. This is crazy

That is wild! I'm sure they would not be sending out IIs unless they still had room to admit people. Plus, many people drop/withdraw as they come off the WL for other school.

We might all be screwed tbh on the WL. There might not be a chance that all of those people will withdraw their acceptances, and our WL will soon turn into Rs

I was the one who said that on the other forum, I was an ED applicant so I don't know the standard process, but I didn't get an email until after I signed all the paperwork committing as a student. That said some students could still withdrawal and the class isn't totally full yet and many students on the waitlist are going to choose somewhere else

Can anyone who received a RD A comment on this?

Where was the “roster” of 173 emails in this incoming class found?

I said this over there to but an associated email doesn't mean matriculating no? Don't they just give you an email address once you are accepted somewhere even if you don't end up enrolling? I got an A and they had me set up an email immediately so that I could access the portal. Maybe it's different for MD vs DO though cause I had to pay a deposit through that portal.

I agree. Its also not even possible to officially commit since commit to enroll isnt even an option yet in the CYMST. My guess is that those are just all the people that have gotten accepted that haven't withdrawn yet, i can guarantee a decent amount of those people will attend elsewhere.

Your words to God’s ears. The person who said it was also ED decision, so them getting an email after accepting their offer may be different from RD candidates who cannot commit to enroll yet, as you said.

I mean how many people have they already pulled from the AL? Isn’t it like nobody yet? Because if their yield last year was like 280 off the AL and that has been pretty consistent throughout the years I find it a bit strange if it were to change this year. Just anecdotal, but other schools I’m WL at have claimed to be seeing even more WL movement this cycle than usual.

Bro I hope everyone that’s been discussing this situation is right, someone who’s accepted and matriculating hopefully they can check the roster thing again on the 30th to see if people declined their seats. I think that’s the best move going forward.

I think NEOMED sent a lot of interviews this cycle, and probably sent a little too much compared to last cycle. We might all be cooked on the AL. There is no way all 175 people on the roster will deny their seats, leading to -200 people getting off the WL. They wont have enough seats

It's not that all 175 need to deny. If, say, even 75 people deny, then that's 75 spots that need to be filled from the waitlist. But many people on the waitlist have other schools they have been accepted to that they would rather go to, or people drop out of the waitlist as they get off the waitlists at other schools. So, to even fill 75 seats probably requires many more people to come off the waitlist than just 75.

I am the one who made that post about the 173, I am an ED applicant and I have been admitted since September, so I imagine the process is a little different for RD but I didn’t receive my NEOMED email until I signed the official paperwork they emailed to me shortly after I was admitted, it is possible that even tho the CYMST isn’t out yet that they could have already committed to NEOMED by signing the paperwork NEOMED emailed them when they were admitted without even needing the CYMST yet (which is only needed by AMCAS so they can post data once the cycle is over), this is exactly what happened with me since I was admitted long before the CYMST was open, that said this could still all be wrong because I don’t work for them lol, there is definitely still hope because by this time in the cycle lots of people are going to turn down NEOMED even if offered a spot off the AL, they might pull 300 people off the AL just to fill 27 seats, I am sorry I did not mean to scare anyone, I just thought it may be helpful info
