+1 IS, NorCal resident, AMCAS processed 8/6!

For those who have received a secondary invitation, were you able to complete the "Prerequisite" section? I understand that I am supposed to drag courses from the right hand side to fulfill each prerequisite category; however, I cannot seem to find or add any courses under "Academic Coursework". I feel like I'm missing something here... Would appreciate any help!
I emailed them today, it's a technical issue on their end and they are working on it! If this impacts your ability to meet the 30-day deadline let them know and they'll give you an extension.

Gotcha! Thanks for the heads-up (^w^)/

I just got mine today and I was verified 7/22, and I live like ten minutes from them. I think they're taking living than usual.

No secondaries yet. Canadian applicant... RIP my chances. Did I waste my money

Hi, I am re-applying to UC Davis MED as a re-applicant. Does anyone have any tips on changing my secondaries from last year?I feel like my previous cycle's secondaries were great, and it was my MCAT that brought me down. I retook it and achieved a 9 point increase, so I am hoping that helps this cycle. Thank you

I submitted 05/28 and was verified 06/05, have yet to hear back, so we shall see what happens next....

i wonder when interviews will be sent out! ik uc davis usually starts pretty early

Not sure, I have not gotten my IS secondary yet. I've been able to complete all my other secondaries and still have not gotten one 😭
I'm in the same boat and it seems like so are a lot of others, I think they are just being very slow with sending them out this year... or at least that's what I'm hoping haha

what do they mean by evidence of accomplishment for the activities? for example, would my documented hours count as evidence of accomplishment for a clinical experience?

3. Please list the activities you would like to be considered in your application to UC Davis. The secondary activities may be used to highlight your experiences specifically relevant for UC Davis. You may use your most meaningful experiences listed in your initial AMCAS application or select/add others that may be relevant to UC Davis. Please only list three. The admissions committee will review all AMCAS application activities as well; this an opportunity to highlight your most meaningful and/or relevant to UC Davis School of Medicine. Please list your actual hours completed at the time of your secondary submission, not projected commitment. Therefore, enter your secondary application submission date as your end date for activities still in progress.
for the activities and experiences question, are we allowed to list an activity we started in our gap year, but is not listed on our amcas application since it's new?

How do you approach this email? im in the same boat
Emailing to ask for a secondary from a school that pre-screens at best gets you a secondary you would have already received. At worst, it will make you look like you’re rushing them and/or are entitled and they don’t send you one. Neither way sets a good tone for getting an II or A. Don’t reach out, just be patient.

Still no secondary, safe to say I'm screened? I'm trying to budget. Verified 6/28.

Hey guys! I submitted my primary to UC Davis on Aug 7 but still haven't heard anything from them. I didn't receive any email saying they got my primary and no secondary yet either...is this normal? I'm a Canadian applicant

I'm a SoCal resident and I have not received anything yet. It will take time they screen fairly heavily and prefer NorCal residents. I also submitted my primary the day AMCAS sent them out in late May, so its been a whilleeeeeee 🫣

To everyone stressed about not receiving a secondary — UCD specifically looks for NorCal residents excluding the Bay Area since those are the students that will most likely stay after graduating. The Central CA/rural NorCal has severe physician shortages and their mission is to train doctors who will address that.

SoCal residents without ties to the region will essentially be treated as OOS for the first wave of applicants. From what I've heard, UCD prioritizes Central Valley/rural NorCal, then Bay Area, then other regions of CA (SoCal), then OOS (and rarely accepts OOS since they usually fill their class by then). It's similar to UCR, which specifically recruits from the Inland Empire. If you haven't received a secondary, it probably isn't bc of the quality of your app but rather your lack of connection to the region. I'm not saying you don't have a chance, but be patient and don't stress! Just be aware non-regional applicants are applying for a much smaller portion of the incoming class.

Hi, anyone noticing a glitch on their completed Davis secondary? I can't see the activity description for our three most meaningful activities on the Davis portal.

I believe this is normal. Applied last year, this still happened to me and other folks on SDN. You may confirm by looking at last year's SDN.

I was verified 7/16 and submitted 7/30. Am located in cen-cal but have not received a secondary. Is this bad news?
