I started an accepted thread for the MU-COM class of 2017 in the medical forum!
 
Just a quick correction ... the number admitted so far was NOT 80% of those interviewed.

Good luck! Waiting all day and knowing that they're making a decision on you is the worst, but it's really nice afterward.

Good luck baby doc! I think it's shaping up to be a pretty competitive season here...

You can tell they are really trying to assemble a founding class that will set the tone for the coming many many years. What a great opportunity we have here!
 
So I just read the class thread and I am SO freaking excited for a phone call today! I'm hoping no one else calls my phone because I am going to be FREAKING OUT! Hoping for good news!!! 🙂
 
So i received a phone call from them on 10/11 telling me i am accepted. They said they would send some things in the mail to make it official but I haven't received anything yet. Anyone else not getting the "official" documents?
 
Last week they told us that someone from the office would be out of town, maybe that's the holdup?
 
Has anyone sent more than the required three letters? Are they receptive to additions? I have another MD letter, I have already sent a DO.
 
I interviewed the first weekend and also received the call on the 11th. From what I've heard, official letters were mailed out to the first group on Monday of this week (Per the other Marian thread).

So hopefully those from the first weekend will be receiving them today or tomorrow. I'll post if mine comes in the mail this week. Congrats!
 
I think Brian Moody is out of town. I had the director of recruitment talk at my school Tuesday, told me to expect the mailed packet next week. I was also accepted on 10/11. So if anyone was wondering where their official letter is, that could be an explanation.
 
Official letters were mailed on the 15th. Portal will be updated early next week.
 
Anybody know if there is a way to add Marian under the Articles & Interviews tab for interview feedback?
 
I wonder if we will find out today because Dr. Moody is out of town.
 
For the first group, they told us we wouldn't find out until the Friday or Monday after because their committee meeting was on Thursday. The calls on Thursday the 11th were a surprise. What day did they tell you all they would get back to you?

We were told that with Mr./Dr. Moody out of the office this week, that it MAY be two weeks, max. BUT they are still meeting today, and we were told to expect to hear something back within a week, even though worst case scenario would be next week.

Ya so it was no direct answer. 🙁 so it does not help and we will still be awaiting!!!

I'm still betting on today! 😉 So I'm going to be a nervous wreck starting at 4pm, since it seemed like calls went out last week in the late afternoon...

They probably won't change it since last week. Calls for acceptances and waitlists, and emails for rejections. You do not want an email! 😉 😛

Haha you know you're not getting one!! However, if Bryan Moody is out of town I don't know what they'll do because he is the one that makes the phone calls. So we are back to "who knows" lol

It would be a hard decision. I think I'd be a great fit at both schools. One would require moving 10 hours away; the other, I could stay put. Having a support system close would be ideal.
 
A close support system was important to me as well. Then I went to the interview and I liked Marian for so much more than it's location. I was so impressed with everything. So high-tech, so efficient, so focused on its students success and so much passion from the faculty to make this happen. Their investment in Marian is more than a job to them.
 
I'm getting so nervous! I'm pretty far back in the alphabet anyway, even if they do actually make calls tonight. Really hoping my phone rings soon!!!

I explained I didn't have a pre-med committee or advisor and provided an extra science professor letter of rec

+1: because somewhere in the application or website it says to explain if you don't have a pre-med committee or advisor letter so i used that space to do that 🙂

Congrats! 🙂 🙂 Can I ask why you're making that decision? (not that I would have a preference either way lol it's just interesting to know people's thoughts on the different schools)
