Let's put it this way, if you already got an interview that means they REALLY like you. You have a great shot. I think I read that they interviewed something close to 350 last year and accepted 162. I would say you have a pretty good shot regardless. Stop being nervous!!!!

For those accepted, feel free to send me a private message if you want to know some more information about Rowan SOM such as places to live, what's nearby and etc.
 
Just got an II today, via phone call! I'm IS...I am actually interviewing at the end of this week. I was very surprised they had dates open so soon. So excited! 😀
 
Approx how many interviews have been sent out? I'd like to say I was complete late august/ early september. Any chance here?
 
I interviewed 8/20. I called and they said they put my application on hold and they will review it later in the cycle. Paula said it's not a bad thing, although I'm wondering why I didn't get the acceptance on 9/27 🙁 Oh well...here's to hoping.

Then I got denied from Cooper Rowan 🙁

Today's just not a good day for me lol
 
Okay now I am kind of confused, even more so than previously.

Is everyone who wasn't accepted placed on hold? The last time I called I was told that no one has been waitlisted yet.

So is there a difference between not having been reviewed yet and being placed on hold?

Forgive me if I'm wrong but Rowan is heavily OOS... Not sure if a 2.9/24 can cut it for an interview

Yep. We are heavily in state. And those stats are WAY OFF for an interview.

Just stalked them hardcore and apparently that was their second time taking AAMC 11. Also said they were a URM somewhere. Conclusion: not a troll
 
I thought it went well. it was a little awkward in the beginning, but I feel like I rocked it for the most part.
but Paula Watkins said being on hold isn't a bad thing. but i secretly think it is.

oh well, i guess i need to focus on my other interviews and hope for the best.
kinda bummed that Cooper Rowan denied me pre-interview too, especially for an MD school with low stats.

Fair enough... But who takes the same AAMC twice and then posts their score on sdn?!?

If they couldn't even put you on a wait list then it's very concerning.

For those who have received the acceptance packet, what is the last date where we can send in the deposit.... On my acceptance letter, it only said, "please sent in your deposit ASAP"... confused...
 
If I'm flying in to Philly International, can I take a taxi to the SOM?
 
Just aheads up, the committee is meeting again tomorrow.
 
Just submitted my secondary today! I'm OOS, applying late, and with a GPA a below their average, but after researching this school I would really love to get an interview here. Hopefully my >30 MCAT will help.

Yes you can. About a 30 minute drive. Try looking into the PATCO which takes you closer to Stratford if you get off Lindenwold.
 
Got the call about an 2 hours ago! My very first acceptance! I interviewed 9/12!
 
Congrats. I didn't get any calls today 🙁 pretty worried

I really hope no call doesn't mean rejection...and that I still have a shot

Congrats to everyone who interviewed and even more so to those who got accepted thus far! Speaking to one of my many hook ups at Rowan SOM, they have not waitlisted anyone last time I checked. So please do fret y'all. Applicants have been placed on HOLD, which to me and others means absolutely nothing since the school has not taken the appropriate response/measures to address what this really entails. Regardless, apparently someone above said Paula said a HOLD is better than a WL.

ANYWAY>>>!! I finally got an EYE EYE (II= interview invite!) I hope to be joining you guys come October 25th (next committee meeting) or November 1st (following committee meeting)!

Just an FYI committee will be meeting the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month (with the exception of october because of some sort of confernce where many of the committee was away).

Still trying to discern why they are implementing this new "Holistic" review. Perhaps because of the school change to Rowan University and/or perhaps they have performed below average on the COMLEX! Either way I cannot wait to rock this interview!!!!

I was complete about a month ago but I haven't heard anything back yet so I'm starting to get worried.
 
Do you think it would be worth following up with this school? I was complete late august/ early september. I haven't heard a peep, I'm instate btw.

Maybe send a letter of intent or something?

It doesn't hurt to call and show continued interest as you inquire about your status.
 
can those who received the acceptance packet tell me what date is the last day for tuition deposit on your letter? My letter failed to say anything about it... I called in and they told me that they forgot to include that on my letter and deadline is supposed to be Dec 13th, could those who received the acceptance packet confirm that. I just want to make sure. Thankssss🙂

I'm seriously considering going here if accepted, but I understand it's an uphill battle for OOS'ers.

If you got an interview, they like something about you. Go to the interview and wow them. Give them all the reasons why you and the school are a fit, etc. Good luck!
 
does anyone know when the next committee meeting is? I have heard both the 18th and 25th as possible dates. Also, I just heard that the previous meeting got moved from Sept 20 to sept 27th. Since I interviewed on sept 26th, should I now be worried??

If anyone has any details, it'd be very much appreciated.. I'm on pins and needles over here!

Yeah they're meeting on the 25th again for sure. I'm not sure but I also heard they're meeting on November 1.

I believe that it is the 18th since that's the third Friday of the month. It is possible that it may have changed like you said, last month it was a little different. Silence is not inherently a bad thing though. Its possible that you were included in this month and have nothing to worry about.

This school has been making every applicant go crazy and they know it! lol. Price you pay when you want the best school. However I feel like even when I called for my application update last month each person I spoke with contradicted the other person and they gave quite vague answers.

I wish they just did what every other school does and give students ONE date and stick with it. I still haven't interviewed yet, but I am reckoning this same "torture" is gonna happen to me. Hopefully they just like me enough and I get a quick acceptance! Good luck to the rest!
 
Hey does anyone know if SOM accepts your best MCAT score or your last MCAT score. I'm debating whether I should retake it in January to do better than my current score, 28 (10PS 7VR 11BS). Thanks in advance!!
