Hey guys - so I have a good problem here, Tufts vs. Dartmouth, and I'd love to get some opinions.

Tufts:
- I am accepted for the Maine Track, which means that my 3rd/4th years will be in Maine.
- I got a scholarship which entitles them to place me in a rural area for the whole of 3rd year.
- But I got a scholarship, for half tuition for 4 years.
- I got a good vibe, and the Maine Track seems like a tight-knit group of kids.
- My family is in Maine.

Dartmouth:
- I also got a really good vibe from here
- I like living in an area that is super clean/safe/quiet
- Not too close or too far from family in Maine.
- The facilities impressed me less than Tufts, but the school itself (people etc) are awesome.
- They DO have good financial aid from what I understand, but I dont have my full offers from either school.

All things considered, I think I am a little more excited about Dartmouth, mostly because I'm not so keen on spending 3rd year in the middle of nowhere potentially.

Thanks for your 2 cents.

EDIT: And yeah, there's a typo in the poll question...hehe

- I also got a really good vibe from here, and I live here currently with my SO who is a current first year, so this is kind of my community already.

Dartmouth will open more doors for you.

If you got a better feeling about Dartmouth, and would be more excited to go there, I'd pick Dartmouth. 🙂

I think Dartmouth gives good aid so cost might be comparable.

I'd pick Tufts, but only because I'm not a fan of Hanover. But it sounds like you like Hanover, so my reasons for not picking Dartmouth don't really apply to you.

You're lucky to have this problem! As a re-applicant, you should be really proud of yourself 🙂 (Maybe pick Dartmouth, so I have a better chance of getting off the WL at Tufts? LOL 😀)

Thanks very much for the input guys. Yeah, as a reapplicant who has been a premed for way too long, it's great to finally have a good problem like this. Now I just want to make sure that I make the right decision for myself. Is it ironic then that I ask for the opinion of SDN rather than just meditate on the question? I don't think so: crowd-sourced are valuable to check your own opinions and biases against right?

Yeah... You will fit right in at Dartmouth. Plenty of "Cerebrals" around for you to meditate with.

Kind of like that phenomenon...not sure what it is called...but basically, if you have a big jar of jellybeans and you ask enough people to guess the number, and you average the numbers, you will land on the right answer.
