Thank you, Franniemeow07. I just called and the woman linked my letters and marked me complete while I was on the phone. She said they are dealing with so many files that the best way to expedite the process is to call them, so if anyone else is waiting on their letters I would definitely call!

Has anyone taken the RTA from the airport to University Circle? If so, is it easy to get from the airport to the station? Also, I am getting into the airport pretty late - is it safe to stand at the train stop? I'm deciding whether the $40 cab ride would be worth it.

Thanks!
Taking the RTA to University Circle is very easy. But if you're coming late at night, don't take the RTA. No one should ride the train or wander around University Circle Station alone late at night, especially not a girl from out of town who doesn't know her way around. What I usually do when I have to go to or from the airport at odd hours is take Ohio Connection, which is a shuttle service. It's cheaper than a cab, about $30, and they will pick you up and drop you off door-to-door. You can call them or go online to make a reservation.

Yeah my bad. I didn't think about the fact that you would be on the RTA late at night. Not a good idea, as CCLCMer said (at least from the impression that I got when I did it myself, haha).

Sooooooooo..... Adcom met 11/03, right? Anyone know when decisions from that meeting will actually be posted? (Have they already?)

I just found out I got in : ) I didn't get an email, but I checked on the status page. They should be posted !

My interview was 2 weeks ago. You'll probably find out next week!
Nice! Thanks!

Yeah, they told us during the interview day we find out in 2 weeks (which is a week from today), but the adcom met yesterday...so I was hoping I'd find out earlier. 😛

Congrats, again! It's funny how you have so many amazing interviews but the UC schools give you nothing! I'm in the same situation 🙄

Thanks again 🙂 I know.. I got put on hold by Irvine too. No in-state love >_< but that's okay. I kind of wanted to leave California to try out the east coast. But I would stay for UCSF 😛 How come no MD apps for you? I see you post all the time but I'm curious how this process is going for ya

haha it's for anonymity...I'm paranoid. I'm willing to PM everything to anyone, though! 😛

Ugh... I've been avoiding checking the status page because I'm afraid I'll jinx myself! But... okay *deep breath* I'm going to do it.

My stomach is already in knots... :scared:

Bah. Nothing. And almost had a heart attack for it.

haha I had the same feeling when I checked my status page. Approximately when was your interview?

Almost 3 weeks ago. Guess I didn't leave as strong an impression as Spidey. 😉

Ammmppphhh! Hey Amph...if you go to CCLCM and I go to case, we're going to be kinda like classmates. Pretty cool, huh?

That it would be. That's saying a lot that I'd get accepted to CCLCM though. I'm not counting on it, at all.

Rejected today. G'luck to everyone else!

Has anyone figured out when the adcom meets? I thought I had it figured out, but now I don't think I do.

Been complete over a month...haven't heard anything. Getting kind of worried

They told us every two weeks, and said the admissions committee was meeting the day of our interview (11/3) to talk about the people from the previous two weeks. So, the next meeting would be around 11/17 I suppose.

Yeah? Maybe that's when they'd look over last week's interviewees, too. Ohh that makes sense now. He told my interviewee group that we'd get decisions in 2.5 weeks (which would be the next meeting, not yesterdays).

Thanks raryn.

Hmm. I wonder if they call you on that day, or shortly after.

I interviewed the 21st of Oct. Seems like I should have been in the Nov. 3 group.

Anyone from the Nov. 3 group hear anything yet?

 Kind of, except that you wouldn't have any classes together.

Don't count yourself out. Someone has to be accepted. You made it into the top 250, so they must have liked you, right? Hang in there, man. December is only a few more weeks away. :luck:

Haha well...we'd be in the same city. Close enough?

Anyway, it's not gonna happen (at least not now). I got a hold! 🙁

does anyone know how many people get interviews at cclmc?

Hold for me as well 🙁 Does anyone know if Case accepts a lot right away and so the "hold" is hard to get off? Or does Case only accept a few and put a lot on "hold" so the hold doesn't really mean anything bad...

Or....does Case not reject people post-interview until the end, meaning that a hold is probably a rejection.

I'd like to second that question. I'm also on hold... :-\

If you search a page or two back, people discussed this topic. Apparently 1/3 of the final class comes in off the waitlist, but people on hold don't get looked at again until spring or so :-/ .....I'm not gonna hold my breath

Spring?! Really?!?! Why does it say they keep our file open throughout the app cycle? NOW, this sucks.

Hmmm.. I'm pretty sure its December/ January? Last year's thread, people got in off hold in late December.

Hold here too. 🙁 Trying to stay positive. 😳 :scared:

berken, YOU'RE amazing.

Hmm... so the waitlist = hold?

Or are they two separate things? Cripes. I pretty sure the rep from Case told me it depends on the year how many people are taken off the waitlist--sometimes none, sometimes a lot. However, that means nothing to me if the waitlist is different than the hold list.

I think they will only create the waitlist (from the hold pile) in a few months. Well guys, December is better than spring. But waiting on a waitlist vs. sitting in a hold pile doesn't make much difference to me anyway 🙄

About 250.

Yes, they're separate. I explained this a few pages back. Hold means the committee is not making any decision on your file for now. You can be put on hold pre-interview, which means you could either get an invite or a rejection later. You can also be put on hold post-interview. If that happens, then your file just sits until the spring when they make a final admissions decision. The final decisions are accept, waitlist, or reject. So there isn't any waitlist yet because the waitlist is made in the spring. Waitlist is a category for people who could get accepted in late spring or early summer if someone else who is already accepted drops their acceptance and a seat opens up.

I know this question was asked earlier in this thread, but I don't think that it was answered. My letters were uploaded to VitualEvals before I filled out my secondary. I then filled out the secondary, and put down that my letters were in a committee packet. So right now it still shows my letters as received (it is still called "auto" so i guess that means they haven't been filed yet) right above where my committee letter is listed. Thus, my application is still marked as incomplete. How long does it take for them to file the letters and match it with the committee letter that I have listed for my LORs? So far it has been a week. Should I call them?

About 250.

Thanks for that info. That definitely helps a little bit!

You say the spring... huh. That means I wont hear anything until March or April? Bummer! I'd really like to know early next semester sometime. Oh well, better than being flat out rejected.

Thanks again.

Probably not. I won't say it's totally impossible to get off hold sooner, but usually people stay on post-interview hold until after all the interviews are finished, which is around March. Sorry, I know the waiting sucks. 🙁

Dear Case Western,

Please, please, please let me in because I loved your school!

So I interviewed there recently and I loved the school, so I really hope I get in, but all these people who were put on hold makes me really nervous. I guess I'll find out in a about week.

Question: For those of you who were put on hold/accepted, did you get the interview invite right away or did it take awhile? I got mine like 2 days after submitting my application and I'm just wondering what, if any, bearing that has on the likelihood you'll be accepted. Thanks!

I am interviewing at Case in mid January... Am I interviewing for the waitlist...considering that admissions are rolling... I know for CCLCM, there will be another decision made during Feb, so I will be interviewing for a possible spot, but what about Case?

I want to say that I got my interview invite within less than a week that I was marked complete (sometime in mid-August). I don't know for sure, but I feel like my interviewer had a large influence because I looked up her name after my interview and found out that she is the head of the admissions committee.....

My interview invite came about... 3 business days after I submitted my application (September). I could tell my interview went pretty well, though, so I am not sure whether the quick response is necessarily an indicator of acceptance.... Good luck!!!

The length of time from secondary completion to interview invite is not indicative of acceptance or hold/waitlist. If you look at the interview invite page, you will notice that most people who applied to Case exclusively (and not CCLCM) received invites within one week quite often. Case is known for their quick turn around. So, sorry to get your hopes down, but you are at no advantage.
