ugh, i got the pre-interview hold message too. booo. at least it's not a rejection.
are people rejected though?
as wellI got the pre-interview hold today 🙁
I also got that message, but mine was longer. Is everyone just shortening theirs or am I the only one who got this one?
"Your application to The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences is complete and has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee. To date, no final decision has been made and the Admissions Committee has placed your application on hold for re-review at a later date. If we require any further documentation or if your status changes, we will contact you immediately. We do sincerely appreciate your interest in our program. Thank you for your patience."
Your current status is
Correspondence concerning the status of your application has been sent to you via postal mail to your preferred mailing address on file with AMCAS.
Does this mean waitlist or rejection? I know that acceptances are first e-mailed to you.
I interviewed in mid-late October. I called the admissions just to see what they had to say, and they claimed that some acceptances are not e-mailed, so I am still holding out (although barely) for an acceptance!

I really hope this the case. My status is the same as yours. I interviewed early Oct.

I got the hold message also. I'd kind of rather be rejected just so I know something for sure, I HATE being in limbo.
I checked my status and nothing. Is this a good sign post interview? The agonizing wait continues...mail, email, phone call, please something transpire into an acceptance so I can go out in New Years with a BANG 😀
wait how long has everyone been waiting for a decision, i just interviewed there and they told me that it takes 6-8 weeeks.
trojan we interviewed on the same day. i guess we have a long wait ahead of usYou're still waiting to hear back from your Oct. 23 interview???! It looks like around here most people heard back in about a month give or take. However, they did say 6-8 weeks on my Nov. 21st interview but I assumed that was more or less just a conservative time estimate. If I were you, I would give them a call.
Has anyone who interviewed on Oct. 31st heard back from GW regarding acceptance, waitlist, or rejection?
I interviewed Oct 14 - still waiting... but I've been distracted by waiting for news from my Oct 10 Pitt interview so... haven't been focusing as much on this one.
I want some news people! Any news!
Would you mind sharing your stats and your overall impression of the interview? Thank you.I interviewed October 17th and just got my waitlist letter yesterday. Maybe it's a good thing you're still waiting. If the status page says they are sending you something in the mail, it will almost certainly be a waitlist letter or a rejection, so I think no news is good news until you get the acceptance email or a thin envelope ...
Good luck!![]()
I interviewed Oct 7th- still waiting...
Pitt's a long wait too? darn. I interviewed later than you (oct 28) and already anxious! Guess I should hunker down for a couple weeks.
Would you mind sharing your stats and your overall impression of the interview? Thank you.
i got:
"Correspondence concerning the status of your application has been sent to you via email."
....but I haven't received an email
i interviewed 11/18 and haven't been checking my status until today. has anyone else gotten this? is it just outdated from before my interview? not sure what it means...
38Q MCAT, 3.6 GPA.
My student interview was my worst so far this season. The girl seemed really snobby about the school and asked a lot of strange questions. Every time I started to answer, she would look at me like my answer was unintelligent and then make a note of that on her paper. She said the point was to see if she would want me as a classmate, and after the interview, I definitely didn't want to be in any of her classes.
My faculty interview was great. We went over time talking about everything from golf to solving healthcare policy. He somewhat repaired my interest in GW after the student one.
Overall, I liked GW for the hospital and the location, but I wasn't impressed with the program, and the interview day was dissatisfying because there were so many people interviewing that everything seemed rushed and thrown together. I guess maybe they picked up on my sentiments and that's why I got waitlisted. Not to mention that my student interviewer probably didn't write a very positive review for me.
Hope that helps!
I felt the same way! My student interviewer made me feel awful! The only response she ever made to anything I said was to state that my response was "too broad". Maybe we had the same person, what were her initials? The whole experience made me a little sour on the school, but I'm still not too happy about being waitlisted. Does anyone have any idea how that works? The letter didn't say anything about where on the list I fall.
