Chompion I also interviewed on 10/23. Did your status page change, regarding a mail being sent out? I'm too afraid to call the admin office. BTW, my status page remains unchanged and I'm not too sure what to think. Sigh-

I interviewed on 10/24 and my status hasn't changed either. i called the admissions office and didn't learn any helpful info. she said they couldn't provide any info over the phone and just to keep waiting

GW is definitely my top choice. I really hope I get in. I enjoyed my visit to DC and had lived there prior for a 2month internship. So I guess the wait continues...Hopefully, we'll get some good news out of this wait.

My status page changed to:

Correspondence concerning the status of your application has been sent to you via postal mail to your preferred mailing address on file with AMCAS.


A few days after I discovered this status, I got the waitlist letter in the mail.

I'll keep you guys updated - as I think I'm the poster on this thread with the longest wait time still (Interview: Oct 14). Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.. it'll calm me down some if someone else has been waiting longer than I have! One thing to consider (that I forgot until it was happening) is that I am sure that NOTHING happened during the week of Thanksgiving AdCom-wise. So, don't include that week in your week-count. Without counting the week of Thanksgiving, I'm at the 7 week mark... so I suppose they are still within their range (6 - 8 weeks). Thanks for the good luck someone posted a few days ago - I'll take all the luck I can get!

PS: I'm also STILL waiting for a Pitt decision from an Oct 10 interview!! I hear they update on Thursdays so I'm counting the minutes till tomorrow afternoon... then I'll commence to stress full-time about GW! 🙄

Just got an invite!!! This is after being 3+ months complete and receiving that "hold" message last week. I sent in an update a few days ago, so I'll bet that made a difference. However, note that my update was significantly different from the "upcoming plans for the year" info I put on my secondary.

Hang in there everyone! Waiting pays off apparently!

Has anyone who has received the post-interview status of "correspondence being sent via postal mail" received an acceptance this way? Everyone who has been accepted did not have this status and just received an email? It seems that the consensus is that it is only waitlist or rejection, but I would really like to know for sure as I anxiously await the letter!

So I think Merlinwall is still ahead of me... but now that I heard from Pitt today (waitlist... ah well) - I'm focusing all my energy on stressing about GW! So many people above have heard from 10/17 and 10/23 and I'm so jealous... what happened to 10/14?? Merlinwall - keep the faith!

Actually I just sent it to [email protected] and addressed it to the admissions committee. I think they prefer email over regular mail, as it gets forwarded to the person in charge of your file more quickly. Good luck!!

Hey all,

Totally appreciate the good vibes. I'm gonna pass out tho pretty soon-- been holding my breath since the cusp of week 6. Too long! They told me I should find out next week... just gotta keep holding my breath a little while longe---uhhhhh.

Can you guys help me out... So if I get in to GW, I'll probably be deciding between GW and Drexel. Do you guys have thoughts GW vs. Drexel...??? (If pitt comes through that'll change the paradigm)

Here are my thoughts-- I loved GW and felt more comfortable there than any other school, and my hosts were amazing-- clicked right away. DC is crazy expensive, and from friends who have lived in DC, people can be kinda arrogant...!? I loved the part of the tour where they talked about Cheney coming in for check-ups and stuff. But I've heard the curriculum is set up to be more stressful than most other med schools. That said the one person I know who graduated from GW scored higher on the boards than anyone else I know... I KEEP GOING PRO/CON BACK AND FORTH... Thoughts!??!?!!

Hey everyone,

I just interviewed at GW on Thursday (Dec 11th) and had a great time. I was overly impressed with the facilities and what currents students had to say about the focus on teamwork within the student body. I also enjoyed the interviews. It was nice to see that many of the reasons why I am drawn to GW are a matter of fact for many of their students.

I wonder if anyone here interviewed with me. Everyone I met had a great story and personality. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the next 8 weeks (TOP CHOICE) and would be proud to call any of you a classmate. Good luck to all!

Wow that gives me zero hope of hearing back before the New Years (I interviewed on 11/21). I'm betting your app has been reviewed and the lady on the phone was just misinformed. I've called a few times and they are not the most helpful admissions office in the world. Hopefully you hear some good news soon I'm betting you'll hear this week since this is the 8 week mark
