Ahh, I guess that applies to both of us (12/11 here). Thanks for the update!!

It's been way past the 6-8 weeks and i haven't heard anything =(

I've taken holiday/inauguration time into account as well but a few people have heard back already despite interviewing after me. Hmm. Not sure what that could mean...

ACK! This wait is a killer, haha. Good luck to us all :luck::luck::luck:

Maybe someone can help me out quickly, and I apologize in advance for my ignorance.

When do we find out if we are getting financial aid from GW? Let's say I fill out my FAFSA and submit it tomorrow. When would they tell me, "you have to pay ___ per year"?

Thanks!

I got an email from GW today requesting a copy of my passport as proof of US citizenship. Has this happened to anyone?

I did not get that, but I was born in the USA. Were you born in the US?

When did you interview?

So I tried checking my status on the status page and I get linked to the GWUMC website...has this happened to anybody else?

Hold on---let me check real quick.

It is working for me. I will PM you the link I use.

Thanks for the link...unfortunately...the page isn't working for me.

It isn't working for me now either. Maybe this is the end for us...

Is it working for anyone that was on pre-interview hold?

I am on pre-interview hold and it worked for me.

still works for me. this is strange

i interviewed on 12/11 and i can't check my status either (i'm redirected to their homepage). i don't think that means rejection. it's probably just a glitch in the system (i hope).

That's what I'm thinking, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone who interviewed in late November or in December heard back yet?

I interviewed on December 18th so I guess I'll have to wait for at least 2-3 more weeks.

I interviewed on November 18th and they still haven't decided.

Yep, same link, doesn't work 🙁.

finally- an interview invitation! don't lose hope guys, apparently they have a few slots left to give 🙂

my status changed yesterday to "Your application is complete and under review by the committee. Correspondence will be sent through email shortly." I called up today (because I'm generally antsy and impatient) and the lady was really nice, told me that I had been extended an interview and that they hadn't had a chance to send the email with scheduling details yet...!!!

Just because I know I always want to know the details, I was complete in mid-September, was put on pre-interview hold, and then I sent an update email about 2 weeks ago.

time to read up on GW some more!!!

Called today to follow-up - No decision has been made yet.

She did mention that they have been backed up because of the holidays and inauguration, as was posted here before.

I just hope I found out before the middle of next month, before I have to put down my deposit for another school...

I was invited today also: very similar scenario to yours. Complete in October, on hold since November, updated them on January 8th.

This was a nice surprise, because I'd already given up hope there.

Same for me! I was complete in August, put on pre-interview hold, then sent an update letter too! I'm excited and need to do more research now too. Congrats!

To those who were just offered an interview from the pre-interview hold,

What sort of details did you include in your update letter? I'm really hoping for GW and I've been on hold since early december.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

When members post about receiving information from GW (decision, request for more info) would you mind posting your interview date at the end of your post? ie "Interviewed 12/11"

This will allow everyone to get a very rough estimate of their potential progress. It seems like every post after someone hears from GW is "when did you interview"? (I know I have asked several times.😀) Automatically posting your date will reduce the clutter in this enormous thread.

Thanks and good luck to all!!! 👍:luck::xf:

Congrats to everyone who got invites! I'm so jealous, seeing Obama in office makes me want to be in DC so much!

quick question about your update letters, did you email them or mail them? if you emailed, what address did you use?

thanks and good luck!

does anyone know if GWU responds to in the area e-mails? also, when do you think GWU stops interviewing?

still on pre-interview hold. Does anyone have any information on interview invitations? hah, not a bad alliteration. Do they have a date at which they just axe all of us?😕

just got an interview invite !!! hooray!! i am excited about this one 🙂

I was offered an interview today after being on hold for several months (my secondary was finished in July, I don't remember when I was officially put on hold). I sent an update letter in late December. It included my fall grades and cumulative GPA-- no need for a transcript, just put them in the letter. I also wrote that I finished my master's and summarized my plans for the spring.

I emailed it to [email protected]. They replied that they received it.

I also emailed to [email protected], and got a response from them saying they were adding it to my file. I explained my increase in duties at my research position, and also told them about passing my certification exam for athletic training. The last paragraph I tried to concisely state with more detail why I would like to attend GW- also tried to make it a little interesting (if possible) through its format. It was 2 short paragraphs and a slightly longer last one.

I just realized that today marks six weeks for me. I guess if people who interviewed a month before me are just finding out...it's going to be quite a while still before us December interviewees find out.

Yeah, looks to be ~10 week mark at this point.

Well my SDN friends I am going to have to withdraw my acceptance here now that the texas match is over and I got what I wanted. I REALLY hope it goes to someone from this thread. Good luck!!!

Hey congratulations on your accomplishment! Hope it turns out better than your wildest expectations =) Good luck on all your endeavors.

Just got an email today saying that I'm an Alternate. It's exactly at the eight week mark since my interview.

I'm not surprised because I know my non-student interview didn't go wonderfully (it took me a while to adjust to the blind interview and having to talk more about the basic stuff about myself), but I was still hoping it went well enough.

I guess I need to write a Letter of Interest or something now. I wish I had something to update beyond "Yup. Still working in Research full-time..."

Thanks for the info, quirks. I suggest going into detail about specific progress within your research. Maybe also mention the anticipation of any papers or presentations in the near future.

You could always get a new volunteer position on the weekends and tack that on. Good luck!!!

I got an alternate e-mail too. I interviewed the last week in Nov. I'm probably not going to stay on the wait list so good luck to everybody!

i just received the email ~10 minutes ago so you (i'm guessing) could still get one today. :luck::luck:

Does GWU reject anyone at all post interview? or are you either alt-listed or accepted?
