How does GWU notify people post interview? Status page? E-mail? Snail mail? Phone call? Does it depend on whether it is an acceptance or waitlist?

email + mail for all possibilities, no phonecall from my konwledge

Anyone else who interviewed on the 6th heard? Also, does anyone know if GW rejects post interview, or is it just accept/waitlist.

Yeah...

It doesn't seem like GW rejects. Only if someone says something completely outrageous, then they'll have to, but otherwise, I doubt it.

Anyone have any ideas...the waitlist must be about 800 people long 😛

yeah someone posted a while back that GW does reject post-interview, but probably very few and it has to be something outrageous

and................ i don't doubt there's like 800 people on the wait list, literally 😏

I interviewed on 3/6 and haven't heard yet, has anyone else from that date?

I interviewed 3/3 and haven't heard, must just be premed23

LOL...well, there are 1000 interviews...

apparently, Vandy puts 700 on the waitlist and it only moves about 30 spots...that's what I read somewhere on this site...

but yeah, putting a large number on the waitlist is quite deceiving. It will give many a false sense of security! ...🙂

I e-mailed GWU saying I was going to be in the area and would be happy to interview, and they e-mailed back inviting me for a "general tour." I was planning to spend some time with family during vaca, and wondering whether this would likely turn into an interview? Thanks.

Interview season is over, though there is a tiny chance they might reopen it. Sorry.

I have learned that you need to make the most out of every opportunity in this process.

I would be optomistic. Be prepared for the tour, look nice, know why GW, and why it is a fit for you- without giving BS cookie cutter answers. The way I see it, you may very well get the chance to spend more time with a Dean or faculty member on this tour than most people may on a regular interview. Also, odds are, it will be more relaxed. So, take this opportunity to let your great personality shine- GW seemed to stress that on my interview day.

The admissions process is made of clay, not stone. Good luck!!

Definitely go for the tour. It gives you a chance to show GW you are truly interested and genuinely care to learn more about the school. Make sure you ask some questions at admissions when you're there. If anything, it'll keep your name on the admission's staffs' minds.

On another note... i interviewed 6 wks ago and nothing! Anyone from mid feb have favorable news?

interviewed 3/6, accepted 3/31. not sure what to do, i really wasn't that impressed with the school, but the location is unbeatable for me...

How did you hear? Email? Did the website change? I interviewed 3/6 too and can't wait to hear!

I heard via email. Just checked status page and all it says is that correspondence has been mailed.

Does anyone know if they have a 2nd look at all? And if so when it is?

Nice work, Funky and RL!!

There isn't a formal second look. However, once you gain access to the 'google group' you'll notice there is a group of accepted students getting together in mid April in the DC area. There is also a group setting up a gathering in the LA area for the So Cal peeps 🙂

Congratulations to those of you who just heard back!! This gives hope to those of us who interviewed "late". 🙂

Booo why are all the people that interviewed on 3/6 hearing before us people who interviewed on 3/3 🙁

Congrats though, and continuing good luck to everyone else! 🙂

I agree. I interviewed March 5 and I am still patiently waiting....

Agree.. Hopefully we will hear within the next week?

PS- What is this new reputation thing under our names? And why am I a plebe?

Looks like it. Has everyone from Feb heard back yet?

haha, as it is not uncommon with pre-meds to speculate - I think GW is sending out finals decisions on Tuesdays. what do you guys think?

I interviewed 2/10...it was 7 weeks on Tuesday. Still waiting anxiously! Anyone understand how this process works--why people who interviewed in March have heard and I have not?

I think after interviews applicants are probably put into some categories. The ones in, lets say, 'high priority' category get reviewed sooner. The rest are reviewed at a later date.

Alternatively, they review all interviewed applicants within 4, 5, or 6 weeks after interview. The ones they think stand out, are invited to join the class ASAP. Others are kept in a pool that they continue to review and then a final call is made at a later date.

Now this is just a guess.

Does anyone have a link to GW's 2007-2008 thread? I cant seem to find it on search.. 🙁

PS- I hope they send out all decisions by Tuesday? Where did you hear this from?

When the people around you hear does not correlate with your decision.

There are many different interviewers on the adcom, with very different schedules.

It took me 12 weeks to hear back. There were people who interviewed before me who heard later than me and thise who interviewed after me that heard before me. Some got in, others AL'd, and one rejected. There is no concise timeline.

It is most likely based on whenever the person who interviewed you has the time to return to an adcom meeting and talk about you.

Yes, decisions typically go out on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

:luck:

Any news today?! I am getting so antsy!!!

Interviewed on 2/19, and I emailed admissions today to find out the status. They said I'll be notified in a few days. I guess that means next week if it's true that applicants are notified on Tues and Thurs. It's so hard to wait. Good luck to all.

I interviewed there 2/13. When I called the admissions office two days ago, I was told a decision hasn't been made yet and I should expect to hear within the next two weeks. From what I got out of it, it sounded like my application was presented, but put aside to be looked at again during the next meeting. The office also mentioned that the committee is meeting regularly these days.

Here is to hoping this week brings LOADS of acceptances 🙂

When was the last day for interviews?

I am hoping that once these people hear a decision we can get an exact number of how many people are on the AL.

I thought it was sometime during the end of march?

good luck for those this week. It seems like Tuesday and Thursday are the informative days.

Ughhhhh!!!!! AL! 🙁🙁🙁

Interview 2/26, AL 4/6... I was really hoping for some good news from GW this week. So I guess the wait goes on 😕

I: 2/13 and also got put on the Alternate list today. Good luck to everyone else.

What do yall's statuses say on the status site?

So did you guys get emails?

I am sorry, I hope you end up getting in 🙂

Sigh...why does GW hate me? I interviewed back in January and still no word. They just keep telling me that the 6-8 weeks isn't a fixed period of time 😕

yea i have the thanks for interviewing message too and the decision came by email half an hour ago.
