Hey prio001, first off congratulations on your acceptance! I wanted to know if you got in off the waitlist or were you never given a decision. Thanks for the info.

I never received a "formal" decision. I called around May 10th to see my status after 6months of waiting. I was told "I think you are on the waitlist... but you are not on my list... you should get an email. Just wait for the email."

I never got any email. Although I called and said... "YES I want to stay on the waitlist even though I have not gotten an email."

I did email Ms. Sanders despite NOT getting a email, and didn't get a response.

Technically I never got a written confirmation about being on the waitlist. Pretty much they told me if you have not received a rejection email then you are waitlisted because "we are rejecting people, so no news is good news."

I didn't believe that statement till yesterday. I was patient yet pleasently persistent though about my interest and status.

Thank you everyone for all your support and putting up with my rants on the forum. Best of luck to everyone!!

Hey Prio001, thanks for all the info. You have given me a little bit of hope.:xf:

for better or for worse the wait will soon be over. Best of luck to everyone in this final week or two of waiting (I don't buy the July 10th date they speak of) but once classes start we can all rest assured that our wait will be over, at least for a few months. Stay strong through the final stretch!

I just keep being told it is "up in the air" and no movement... but they like to keep us on the edge of our seats with... "but you never know" sort of comments.

Also... due to budget cuts the class size got cut too. This probably has affected all UC's which means there are about 40-60ppl total out there on UC waitlists over acceptances if class sizes got cut back 10-15ppl.

Hence slow movement all over the UC's.

hey prio001, congrats on getting accepted!

did Ed actually say those words to you 'up in the air' and 'but you never know'? cause he always just tells me waitlist is not moving, that's it. once again, huge congrats!

anyone with news?

I called admissions today and they told me that there was some movement this week. Hope we'll all get that 916 phone call :xf:

any news recently? the end is almost here ... sad

edit: i wish they would at least tell us where we are on the WL so we're not clinging to false hope

MSg from Ed: I believe that our medical school has reached the end point for this year's admission. To put it simply, the class of 2013 roster is in place but not set in stone since this will not be confirmed until Monday 7/27 when orientation begins. I would suggest that you move forward with any decisions you must make outside of admission to medical school at this time. Your name remains active on the wait-list. As I've shared with other applicants in your situation, the class roster may change at any time before orientation. In the meantime, go with the "sure bets" whether it is planning to attend the medical school where you are holding an offer of admission, reapplying for admission, retaking the MCAT, complete any existing pre-med reqts., etc., etc. I hope this helps. Thank you for your continued interest in our medical school.

RSwim, thanks for the update. It seems as if WL moved very little this year at many schools.

RSwim, are you goin to Aussie for med school if Cali doesn't wrk out? If so, good luck!

Hi Talbo - yup I am planning on going to University of Queensland. Still not sure if I am going to do the joint venture with Ochsner. I have been accepted itnot he 4 yr program at UQ though and have been told that if I want to, I could switch into the joint program. Lots of options, opportunities. Plus, another life adventure! While I a bummed about Davis... from my research so far this appears to be a great option. World Class Education and a great life experience...Only difficulty is coming home.
