"Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview."

So I skimmed through the thread but didn't see much. What did everyone make out of this status update? Good? Bad? Neutral? I don't know :scared:

I just got this either today or a couple of days ago... before then I had the "1-2 weeks review" message.

Hi,

I was wondering where everyone that has an interview is staying, or people that have in the past/ live there now, where do u reccommend?

Thank you!!

I think it's basically just a hold that everyone gets after they're reviewed, but that's just a guess. Has anyone gotten an interview without getting that message?

You can ask the admissions office for hotels in the area or ask them to pair you up with a medical student as well.

You will most likely want to get a rental car to get you from the airport to the school depending on where you fly into if you are flying.

Congrats to anybody who has an interview invite from this or any other school so far!

Remember to post them on the interview invite threads 🙂 It's helpful for other SDN members, not only this year but also in the future!

Thanks!

Does anyone know if Wake prefers a letter from the pre-med committee? My Committee still hasn't onde interviews and I am not sure when they will get their letter in. I was wodnering if just sending my letters of recs from proffesors will be looked down upon.

I didn't have a pre-med committee at my school (not even sure why any school would have such a thing anyway). So I just sent in my letters as they were. I would send them in and get your file complete, if your pre-med comittee ever gets your letter together (seems like the clock is ticking on this), then I would send that at a later date.

I was in the same boat and it didnt seem to hurt me at Wake or any other school.

I had that message too and I got an interview about a week or two after.

My status changed from "You application is under review for 1-2 weeks" to "Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview." in 1 day. I was stunned at how fast it changed. Does that mean I'm on hold for now? Based on the thread so far, that's the vibe I'm getting. Any thoughts?

So I'm assuming my status will change as soon as my letters are available on virtual eval?

Im in the same situation. Anyone remember how long it took them to attain your letters once they were available on VE?

My status changed from something about my signature page to under review after they got my letters and then again to the interview one the other day. I think it took about a week from the time they got my signature page to when they processed my letters, but my letters were posted before I submitted anything. I'm guessing it will be about a week for them to process your letters once they're up on VE.

I have this message for a while:

"Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview."

How long is this supposed to take, and is this just a hold or does it mean I will get an interview? Should I call them?

I just figured out how to do a status check and saw the following message:

"Your application is complete. You are invited to call and set up an interview with us at your convenience."

I got the complete e-mail on Sept 2nd, BUT I have not gotten an e-mail inviting me for an interview. So after reading this thread and seeing stuff about Wake Forest app problems online, I'm being paranoid and wondering if the text above is legit (esp b/c it doesn't give the phone number).

I also read that they invite you to interview via e-mail or phone, but I'm out of the country, so if they call me, I wouldn't find out about it for another 10 days. Would they eventually send me an e-mail?

Also, how are interviews scheduled? Only by phone? (I'm out of the country) How much choice do you have in the interview date? What days do they interview?

Thanks

Honestly, I would call asap. If it's a mistake they will fix it and if it's not congrats on your interview invite!

I actually just had my Wake Forest interview today, and I will take some time to share my thoughts while I wait at the airport for my connecting flight and pray that it does not get delayed/cancelled.

-The town of Winston-Salem is not very big, but it has a very nice feel to it and the people seem genuinely friendly. I have heard that although there is not very much to do in the town, it is only a couple hours away from many different attractions (beaches on the coast, Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham, snowboarding in West Virginia, etc.). I personally loved the atmosphere of Winston, but if you need a big city it is probably not for you.
*Sidenote-keep in mind that it can get very expensive to take a taxi or shuttle from the Greensboro airport to Winston-Salem and you might be better suited renting a car.

-The Baptist Medical center (where the med school is located) is very large with over 1000 beds. Inside, it is one of the most aesthetically attractive and clean hospitals I have seen. They have a level one trauma center and a very large pediatrics area.

-The Medical School is located at the Watlington Hall area of the hospital and it is also is very large. The school is very technologically advanced with most, if not all, of the course materials available through their online database. The anatomy lab is impressive with cameras and viewing screens at each cadaver. There were several patient evaluation rooms where students are observed through one-way mirrors on their interactions with patients/actors.

-The actual interview day was very organized with a physicians wife greeting six of us interviewees and essentially breaking the ice for the first half-hour. We then met with an admissions lady who introduced us to the curriculum of Wake Forest, as well as the city and hospital. The financial aid presentation was a financial aid presentation, nuf said. We were then given a tour by two MS4s who were very, very helpful in answering all of our questions and they were enthusiastic about the school. Afterwards, lunch was in the cafeteria where we were welcomed to get whatever we wanted on the school's treat. Keep in mind that the interviews are unlike other school interviews because of the brevity of them. There were three interviews of only 15 minutes apiece. On one hand, they were very relaxed and informal. On the other hand, the each interview was literally over before I knew it. I guess I didn't really feel like 15 minutes was enough time to really let a stranger get to know me very well.

-Overall, I had high expectations for Wake Forest and the trip exceeded them. Good luck to everyone applying! :luck::luck::luck:

Good news

Btw. they are planning interview more ppl this year due to an increase of class size by about 10 or 15 ppl.

Make sure you check your spam, especially if you use g-mail. I randomly checked my spam inbox and had a email from them asking me to call them to make an interview appt.

hey, I just received Wake Forest secondary today. Do you guys know how many people received their secondary?

i just figured out i got wake's secondary today. THANK YOU gmail spam filter... geez.😡

Where did you hear this from?
My little medical school wife that followed us around all day...I also think an interviewer mentioned it...im definitely postiive the wife said it though.

You go there...maybe you would know?

I checked my status page earlier this week and it said that i will be receiving a secondary. Right now, it says that my amcas is still under view. What is going on??

For those of you who called to set up an interview, how long did it take them to send the second e-mail with all the interview details? I called yesterday but they haven't sent it to me, and I'm a little nervous about not receiving it because the original interview invite e-mail got put in my spam box somehow.

Congrats on the interview! I received the second email two days after confirming a date. If a few days go by, just politely ask the admissions office if it has gone out yet and if they could resend you the email.

Mine took weeks to a month

I really doubt that this is true information. There is no extra room in the lecture halls and anatomy lab for 2, let alone 10-15 more students in next year's class.

I don't know about the 10-15 increased seats....

But I was Knuck000's group and basically would say the same things he said about the interview day.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the interview info so far, its so helpful just to get an idea before going in, and this is my first one! Any last scoops from people that just had thier interviews... I have mine real real soon!

Thanks

Best of luck to all!🙂:luck:

So I just rechecked my status page and it mentioned that a interview packet was sent to me. I am pretty sure that I have not recieved this, does it come by snail mail or email. Also more importantly WHAT IS IN IT?!?!?!😱

Thank you so much

I didn't receive a packet, but I did receive a link to the interview information. Have you received that?

For most of you guys, approximately what was the wait between being complete at WF, and finding out you were getting an interview?

The wait for an interview invitation is intense...

WF just updated my status to let me know that I was going to be getting their secondary. Can those of you who have completed it tell me whether or not everything is handled online? I saw mention of a photo needing to be sent in along with a form, did this have to be snail-mailed? I just want to make sure I have everything ready so that I can submit that badboy minutes after I receive it. Thanks!

It can all be handled online. Just like it should be for every school.

Not true, you have to mail in a signed form (picture optional, I didn't attach one but still got an interview), along with a check or money order for $55.00. The secondary payment cannot be made online.
