Was offered a waitlist spot as well. I know some schools say you should turn in all your financial aid documents even if you are on the waitlist. Is Case the same way? I had my Fafsa sent to them, but that is all I have done so far. Any thoughts?
that's a good question. i sent in a need access form to all of my waitlist schools but i haven't sent tax docs and stuff like that.

I am by no means going to claim to be an expert on this topic, however, I would go ahead and send in any additional financial aid documents necessary to Case, especially if you really like the school and would consider going there if accepted. I don't see how it could hurt, and if anything, maybe it could show the school that you are still interested in attending if offered a position in the class.

As a general rule, the sooner you send in your financial aid documents to a school, the more likely you are to be considered for "free" or "low-interest" money. I know I was told by one particular school at my interview that even if I was accepted later off the waitlist, they would consider my financial aid based off of when I submitted it to the school.

Regardless, best of luck to everyone out there. I am starting to drop my multiple acceptances so there will be more spots opening up for people at other schools. Case's Second Look Weekend really made me do a 180 in favor of coming to the school. Myuu, you can give props to the Admissions Dept. and Dr. Mehta for the fantastic weekend. 👍

Good points. I looked at the Case Financial Aid site and realized why I haven't submitted anything else to them besides my Fafsa and Need Access- one of the required documents is a CWRU Financial Aid Application, which can only be accessed on your iApply account after you have been accepted. I just checked my iApply and even after getting put on the waitlist, this application is not there (maybe it will be there once they confirm that I accepted a waitlist spot?). Anyways, it seems like they don't expect waitlisted people to submit a copy of taxes or the CWRU Aid App until after they have been officially accepted. So I guess we don't have to sumbit the other documents? Unless there is some other way to get the CWRU Aid App; still I just don't think they want that stuff unless you have been accepted. I think I'm going to just sit tight.

congraulations flufflyrabbit! so, cclcm is accepting people off the waitlist already???

and were you one of the people on the waitlist who was invited to the second look?

Received the call from Dean Franco this morning! :soexcited:

I was actually sleeping then (8am Pacific), so when I answered the phone I wasn't fully conscious, but afterward it was impossible to fall asleep again.

I'll be withdrawing from the UP soon, so good luck to those of you still waiting there.

Both revisits were awesome. I appreciate having the tour of Cleveland both when it was snowing and when it was sunny. 🙂

I also just joined the Facebook group.

Good luck! :luck:

Ok, so I just went to ask about financial aid for all you guys on the waitlist. They want you to hold off sending off an thing on paper until you've been accepted. They also don't want you to fill out need access until then either.

I'll pass on your sentiments about second look, though!

@OMSTR, TheFreak, (and Myuu) Sorry, my bad! I understand that it gets confusing when every school wants you to do something different. Everything kind of blends together after awhile, hence me making broad generalizations. Thank goodness we have such a steadfast moderator to correct these things.:claps:

Btw Myuu, is there anyway accepted students can access a directory of current Case students? One of the current Case students I met during Second Look had some really useful info about housing and I wanted to follow-up with them about it.

it's all good. guess theyll have to live with having my need access form sitting around.

I got put on the alternate list today too! And I accepted it. I had been on hold for this school for so long I almost forgot about it! One more waitlist for me to keep my hopes on!

no problem, biochemist. and thank you myuu for asking for us

Seems like everyone here made it to alternate list.. :scared: What's the chance that any one of us will get accepted here considering that there is no waitlist movement from past couple years.. 1,000 people on waitlist + 0 spots opening = NO CHANCE 👎

Ok, first of all, not everyone is one the waitlist. Second, you're probably not going to see any movement until people begin dropping their spots, usually around the time as the regular May 15th schools start dropping their financial aid packages and people start their acceptance-dropping frenzy. That being said, you could still get accepted the week before school starts in July. I'm pretty sure that happened last year.:luck::xf:

Hey Myuu, are we gonna sprint to the end of this thread or what? 😀

Less than nine hundred posts to go before we hit the big 5k. I think that's a worthy goal.😀😀😀😀

If Case would have a few more rejection days we'd hit it in no time

congraulations flufflyrabbit! so, cclcm is accepting people off the waitlist already???

Thanks! And yeah, I would assume so. 🙂 My guess is that that Dean Franco is pulling students off as others withdraw, so there isn't exactly a specific time. Good luck!

Yup! Did I meet you there?

Hey FluffyRabbit do you remember how many people at second look were for CCLCM?

Hii!~

Just wanted to say that I was similarly accepted off the CCLCM wait list at around 10ish EST 🙂 and I did also attend second look ^-^

Good luck to everyone else and congrats those who got on Case alternate list! I just withdrew from the school so I hope someone here gets in on my spot =DD

I didn't count, but I think it was mentioned earlier that all 32 accepted students and about 8 waitlisted students were invited.

So I counted 11 just today that were offered alternate list spots who posted here and three that were rejected, that is definitely not everyone, and I'm guessing people who got rejected are less motivated to post it on SDN. I guess it would be 12 if you count me, I was offered an alternate list position today too.

Are most people just getting loans for the tuition? The HPSP scholarship from the Army pays for everything and gives a monthly paycheck

Anybody gotten award letter yet? I'm still not marked complete for financial aid on iApply (for some reason they say they haven't gotten my parents' tax forms, which they sent). I just got my award letter from OSU so I imagine it's got to be soon.

based on last years thread, it seems like scholarships came out on the iapply site around april 14th. I assume it'll be in the coming days based on that... :luck:

Oh, it usually takes a while for them to update the checklist in iapply, don't worry.👍 though, if it's been a super long time since you sent them in, you could call them.

ok if I don't see anything I'll check in a couple days. I emailed them last week and they were like "be patient" so I figure I won't bug them again for a while

Were you accepted into CASE, have you thought about the HPSP, medical school scholarhsip?

BTW, when do they close this thread?
Some time over the summer. July or August, I think.

Awesome, congrats! Told you not to give up hope. 😀

People will be accepted from the waitlist as others drop. Since CCLCM doesn't overaccept, every person who drops opens up an actual seat that can be filled by someone else.

Hey Myuu, are we gonna sprint to the end of this thread or what? 😀
For the record, post 5001 is mine.

Exactly.

It was around 30ish. Some of the accepted people couldn't come.

Awesome, congrats to you, too! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, or I'm on the Facebook group also. I Heart Sleep made me join.

Bring it.

Hmm. Who gets 5001? Is it going to be the ever friendly applicant with his PC? The inordinately helpful 4th year with a blackberry? Or will it be the enterprising first year with the iPad?

Game on, guys. Game on.

😎 PC my left buttocks...Mac now...I've come over to the dark side...and we shall see...

5001 is not for the faint of heart, folks. This is No-Holds-Barred. This is the SDN posting Open Class. This is the real deal.

I look forward to the smack talk and the lap of victory...

Oh, and don't fool yourself that your SDNlive and a Venti-sized Iphone will be giving you the edge this time Myuu...
:meanie:

I'm glad you've come to join me among the brethren of the cult of Jobs, but don't bet on any miracles.:meanie:

Thanks for outing me. I was planning to :ninja: it...

Edit: I think the 5001 post should be automatically given to the luckiest bowler in this thread.

Didn't you bowl a 180 or something? Bowling is so not one of my strengths.

Myuu, LTTP, Iceman, et. al. What bank(s) do you use for convenience?

Also, is Dave's really the best bet for groceries around town? I guess I take for granted the excessive number of supermarkets near me.

Finally, what cellphone service to you use and where do you have trouble making calls?

I use Key Bank as neither Wachovia nor Wells Fargo exist in the state of Ohio. Plus there are branches all over (including in or very near CCLCM, with two ATMs inside UH). Dave's is alright, though there are bigger ones in midtown and at Severance. Further down Mayfield, you'll find a 24hr Giant Eagle for all your midnight produce needs and a Whole Foods on Cedar. At the far end of Mayfield you'll find the Costco, but will have passed a Wendy's, an Arby's, a KFC, a Rally's, a place with good sour cream donuts, and an Outback Steakhouse among sundry other conveniently unhealthy culinary outlets, but will have stopped short of the Five Guys'.

As for phones, I had terrible luck with a razr on verizon when I hit the ground in Cleveland with dropped calls galore. vie had much better luck with the iPhone, but I'm told that verizon isn't nearly as bad now. No signal for either device in the UH ER.

I use 5/3 Bank as there is a branch 2 blocks from my apartment. i've been happy with them.

I currently have Verizon (picked them up when I was living in NJ), and it is HORRIBLE for the immediate east side of Cleveland. I have almost no reception in my apartment and no reception on the Case campus. Verizon is bad on the east side of Cleveland.

As for groceries, it really depends on where you live. The Dave's on Cedar is walking distance from my apartment so I typically use it. Giant Eagle is another big chain in Cleveland, and there's a place called Zagara's on Lee road north of Cedar, which is a slightly more upscale grocery store.

OMG- there's no Wachovia!?

Well that's good to kno... time to switch banks =.=

are out! Got a notification message on my iApply account today. Combined with an amazing time at 2nd look, I'm like 95% sure that I'll be heading to Case come July 😀. Good luck to everyone!

So does anyone know when merit scholarships are given out? It said middle of April, but was there any more info during Second Look? OR, have they already been given out?

I just got a merit scholarship. $25,000/year! It might've changed earlier, I'm not sure, I just checked iApply 🙂) :luck:

oops didn't see the post above mine. Yeah looks like they went out today!
