OMG- there's no Wachovia!?

Well that's good to kno... time to switch banks =.=
Yeah, that was rather shocking for me too.🙁

are out! Got a notification message on my iApply account today. Combined with an amazing time at 2nd look, I'm like 95% sure that I'll be heading to Case come July 😀. Good luck to everyone!

I just got a merit scholarship. $25,000/year! It might've changed earlier, I'm not sure, I just checked iApply 🙂) :luck:

oops didn't see the post above mine. Yeah looks like they went out today!

GOT THE SAME THING!!!!!!!!!! 99.99999% going here.

Congrats, guys!

No scholarhip here 🙁. 99.999% I'm not going here now.
Aww, sorry to hear that. I hope the finaid packages at your other schools treat you better.😳:xf:

Awesome, congrats! Told you not to give up hope. 😀

Thanks! I never really gave up hope - I liked the school too much to do so. :luck:

Congratulations to you guys!

Holy crap, I got a merit scholarship as well! That being said, it doesn't change my decision to attend CCLCM. Their response deadline is April 15 - I wonder how strange it looks on the UP side for me to withdraw immediately after getting a scholarship.

Well, no schollie for me, so it's prolly the end of case for me. anybody know what they do with schollies of ppl who withdraw? do they immediately re-reward them? and how will ppl be notified?

I'm pretty sure they already know that the clinic has you in their web, so we'll probably survive your defection.:d

wasn't selected for any scholarship money...bye bye case 🙁

Not that it actually matters much, but Case has edged its way to number 20 in UsNews Research Rankings for 2011 👍.

whats your source? can you post the full top 25 rankings pretty please? 😀

Yes it is 20 Myu!!! Apparently they will be officially released at 12 tonight, but they've leaked all over the internet especially the law and business school rankings. I could only find the 2011 top25 for medical schools by the way.

But I'm going to check at 12 anyway to make sure I haven't been misled...

Isn't it funny that we found them on a law school forum? 😀

Anyway, I just released my UP acceptance and scholarship. Good luck to those on the waitlist! :luck:

NICE!~

Top 20 FTW XDXD

I can't wait to see it at midnight =DD

wow how'd you guys manage to dig that up? can you hook us up with a link?

Hey CCLCMer!

Maybe you've answered this already, but on average how many students are taken off the waitlist for cclcm each year? Just freaking out since its the 15th tomorrow. eek!

Soooo, I know that it totally does not matter, but not gonna lie, I have been looking at those rankings all day and spazzing out. 🙂 Top 20 is pretty freaking awesome, go Case!! 👍

haha same here! it's icing on the cake of Case's awesomeness

CCLCMer will correct me if I'm wrong, but based on last year, I think you can expect about a dozen to be accepted off the waitlist.

Hii~ I'm going to take a guess since I asked about this info for myself in the past. I'm going to guess 4-8 students. Don't quote me on this tho!~ Maybe CCLCMer has a better answer 🙂

Hmmm... I recall CCLCMer saying it was more like 15 that were taken off the list, but I guess we will give him the final word!

I think he said 18 were taken off last year, but because of the small class size that # could fluctuate. I wonder if that includes people who were invited to second look. hopefull not:xf:

who knows, maybe it will be vc, fluffy rabbit, and everyone from the alternate list...?!

Sigh....I could do worse than quoting CCLCMer every post...

The Ever Helpful All Knowing CCLCMer said:
Sorry, I don't know how many people are on the waitlist. I can try to find out for you. I also don't know how many people will be accepted from the waitlist. Last year, CCLCM gave out approximately 50 acceptances, so it was around 18 people. But since the class is so small, it could easily be several more or less this year depending on how many of the current acceptees decide to attend or withdraw. We won't have a good idea for at least another 4-6 weeks.

Myuu, LTTP, Iceman, et. al. What bank(s) do you use for convenience?

Also, is Dave's really the best bet for groceries around town? I guess I take for granted the excessive number of supermarkets near me.

Finally, what cellphone service to you use and where do you have trouble making calls?

I bank at Key Bank. They generally have a free ipod, GPS or $150 offer when opening a bank account with them. DO NOT open an account with them unless they have one of these offers. I opened one as soon as I moved to CLE and they offered a free ipod a week later.

Dave's is the most convenient bet. Zagara's is about 5-10 minutes east from Dave's and is a bit higher quality with similar prices.

I use AT&T, never have problems.

:hello: Hi Iceman! I knew you were lurking out there! 🙂 Thanks...
I actually have a line of credit and used to be a Keybank account holder about a decade ago...for similar reasons: convenience. Yeah, back then it was things liks dust busters and toaster ovens. Like the upgrade in swag! I'm on it! 😀

Bank of America. 👍 or 👎?

Type of car? And do those folks from Detroit hate the Toyotas and Hyundais driving around? (aka, is there more preference for GM )

Unfortunately no convenient BoA branches in CLE.

Brand really doesn't matter, but hope it handles well in the snow.

they will definitely pull the people off of second look first. think about it this way--how terrible would you feel if you were waitlisted, invited to second look, and then NOT pulled off the waitlist?

i recall from CCLCMer that last year they accepted 47 to fill 32 slots. there are about 30-40 people waitlisted total, and depending on how many of those have declined the position (many of those will be going to top25s), the rest of us waitlistees will be fighting for the other ~7 slots that will hopefully free up. but you never know, more people might decide to go with the cleve this year 👎laugh:

so why are the research rankings seen as the more legitimate ranking?

because nobody truly believes in their heart that michigan state university and the university of vermont are better than HMS, Stanford, and Wash U

Honestly, if you're looking for the best bang for your buck (and I'm defining bang as reliability/gas mileage/trouble freeness) you're best off getting a used GM car that is the same as its Toyota counterpart. They're literally the same car but are cheaper since they don't have the Toyota name.

This includes:
Early 2000s Chevy Prizm (same car as the Corolla)
Pontiac Vibe (same as the Toyota Matrix).

I'm sure there are others that I'm unaware of, but these are the two I know. I had a 2002 Chevy Prizm and now have a 2004 Vibe. I've been super happy with both.
