Was it a phone call?

I called yesterday to talk directly to the dean and make completely sure that they would consider my new MCAT score which came out the week prior. Turns out, they had voted that morning so Dr. Nipper gave me my decision!

Phew! That makes me less nervous for the Monday decision. Congrats by the way!

Accepted! Interview 09/26. Dr. Nipper called. Class of 2014 here I come. Good luck to all who are waiting.

FIRST ACCEPTANCE!! Interview 9/26, got a call today...gonna get hammered tonight

I just called and talked to Jarmon. Waitlist for me. Unfortunately, he couldn't find any comments about why I was waitlisted and said he'd talk to the committee this week and call me next Monday. Kind of lame if you ask me. It would've been nice to have an acceptance under my belt but oh well.

So what is the latest interview date that people have found out about acceptances? Does anybody know which dates they have interviewed so far? I am trying to keep track of how far along they are getting along in making decisions based on interview dates...

Discussed the Oct 10 interview group this week and the Oct 17 group is up next week, so at this point we're at a 3 week delay. If you want to know when your group will be discussed, let me know the date or pm me.

Thanks! That helps a lot!

So, what are the odds of getting an interview invite at this point? I've been complete since 8/10 and still no status update...

So i am from Illinois and was able to find a round trip flight from ohare to omaha for 90 dollars which is pretty great. Do people know if flights are always this cheap between the two cities?

To my knowledge, we are only booked through this year for interviews, which means Jan - March is still open. Don't give up hope (and send in updates if you have any)!

Definitely not uncommon, as long as you're okay flying into Midway. If you book far enough in advance (like a mere 4 weeks) you'll usually spend no more than $120 (59 each way), though there are a lot of $39 one way flights to be had.

Let's hope Creighton passes out some acceptances this week!

For those of you accepted or interviewed would any of you mind sharing your stats? You can PM if you would like. Just wonder where i stand

No calls from Creighton today? Hopefully on Thurs!

Dear Creighton University,

For Christmas, I would like an interview to your school. I have been really really good this past year and I even gave up cursing. Ummm ok thanks.

-Applicant 🙂

You should probably send that EXACT letter to them...maybe address it to Santa followed by the admissions office address...

Accepted! Got the call at 5pm today. Interviewed on 10/10. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear!

I was complete late July and haven't heard anything. Should be assuming this is a rejection?

Thanks for the information and congrats.

You still have 3-4 months of interview time, so I wouldn't give up.

Did anyone that interviewed 10/17 hear anything yet? I am starting to get worried but if people that interviewed 10/10 are just now hearing results then it makes me feel a little better...hopefully soon!

Looks like decisions may be made in about three weeks with calls coming about a week later.

Got the call at 5pm today as well. Heard nipper has been out of town so things have been delayed a bit. Oh, and I interviewed Oct. 10th.

Good luck to the rest! I am going to Creighton for sure next year so I will see you all there!

I know I'm super late now, but is anyone having secondary issues where one of the essay boxes is empty but says there is already like 300 words in there so when I copy in a normal essay from notepad it says I have like 600 words and won't let me send??? I called the admissions office like a month ago, got a voicemail that I missed and never listened to, forgot about it because of other applications, and i listened to it as I was deleting them now but couldn't get the number. Any advice???

You know what... I just might. If someone in admissions committee gets a good laugh out of it then it would be well worth it. They do deal with our endless phone calling after all and could cheer up a bit.

Congrats!!!

this happened to me when i was using firefox as my browser.....try exiting from your app and opening a different browser (i don't remember if i used internet explorer or a diff one) and when you do you will see all this code build-up which you can then delete in the other browser....hope this helps!

Does anyone have the US News data for (OOS) interviewed vs. total accepted? Thanks!

The other thing I would try would be to type it up in Wordpad. Notepad has some funky hidden formatting issues, so it's worth a shot. You could also just try to copy and paste into wordpad, save, rinse, and repeat into the website browser.

No data here, but Creighton is private, so most of our applicants are OOS, most of interviews therefore go to OOS, and in general, there is often less than 20 in staters per class.

Basically, it doesn't matter if you're in-state or not, what matters is whether you get an interview. Most of the time, the applicant's home land never even comes up in the admissions committee meetings. Hope that helps!

Do they not give out interview to applicants who have stats above the range near their average?

Oh ok...thanks so much for the info! If you had to guess, what are the chances of getting accepted after having the interview?

At the interview day they said that they accepted roughly 430+ out of 660+ interviewed. If I remember correctly. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That sounds a bit high... they said they accept around 50%.

last year it was under 50% (they interviewed more people than past years and there was basically zero waitlist movement)....this year though it can be different, but i wouldn't know since they haven't asked me to interview again this year 🙁

I'm sorry you haven't gotten any Creighton love yet this cycle! You should call them and see what's up... in fact you've got 45 more minutes of open door time today so go for it! I'm wondering if they plan to accept more people than last year since the class size has expanded. On the other hand, I know last year at May 15 the class was overfilled, which obviously changed throughout the summer since a few people were accepted from the waitlist. So perhaps they will accept the same number of people despite there being more spots in the class, and there will be more waitlist movement this year.

i knew i was really lucky to get an interview last year but i was hoping they would give me another shot....ahh....i am planning on sending an "update letter" to dr. nipper, garland, and the gen e-mail being like "hey. remember me, you sorta liked me last year, and i love love LOVE you, so how do you feel about interviewing me this year, what d'ya say?"

.....i think that should work lol

Make sure your letter highlights your accomplishments/activities since the last cycle.

Haha, nope. We only like average to less than average applicants. 😉
Of course, I'm kidding, and know this for a fact because we've already discussed more than a baker's dozen of 4.0s and 36-37+ MCATs, a number of which I have interviewed. With that said, stats aren't everything for us. Personally, I'd rather have a 3.6 with a 30MCAT that is super well rounded and has a great personality than an asocial 4.0/40 with robotic tendencies and no service work.

Word.

I could easily see that (your perhaps part) being the case this year. This is new territory with the Phoenix track, so I think everyone is interested to see how it plays out. I get the impression that Phoenix is super popular already, so we may end up not losing as many West coasters as we have in the past, which will make things interesting in terms of how many acceptances you dole out in the beginning.

That is partly why I have tried to emphasize that the waitlist isn't the "almost deathwish" that it was last year, because at this point, we just don't know how it's all going to play out.
