From what I can tell, they haven't sent out many interviews. It looks like silence = under review.

I agree with this. I would try not to worry too much (it's hard I know). As people have been saying elsewhere, there is still plenty of time for interviews.

seriously though, why is everyone freaking out, they JUST started sending out invites. ya'll need to be less :scared: and be more 😴
 
haha, I'm not really freaking out, I've only been complete for less than a week, and Dartmouth is definitely a reach for me anyway, so I don't expect much. Great dream school though.

I know we've been over this, but just for my peace of mind...

Are we supposed to be expecting a complete email from them?

I know we don't get three green lights on the status page because they're using the AMCAS letters service. For those of you who are complete, do they give you a complete status on the status page when you log in?

No. Just the green lights. Completion and that they are happy with the letters is assumed.
 
complete early july, still no invite... =( maybe i shouldn't have included in the essay a comment on my first, less-than-stellar mcat score. ah! things I learn from experience...

I wouldn't worry too much yet, I really think they have just started sending out invites. As far as I know they are still offering people interviews in September. It's early and there is definitely still a chance you will get an interview.

The person you quoted who is complaining has 7 interview invites and we are still in AUGUST, and in that list of invitations is UVA, Michigan, Pitt, Vandy, and Penn...I only have 3 interview invites but I am quite pleased with the progress, but maybe I should ratchet up the neuroticism to SDN levels?
 
i was complete at about 7/06 ish. i forget when but it was my first secondary done ... i just got my interview invite via email ... this is an amazing day for me .. good luck guys

i agree that is crazy. she has a 37 mcat at the end and 7 interviews. note to crazy lady, YOU WILL NOT GET AN INTERVIEW EVERYWHERE AND YOU CAN ONLY GO TO ONE MED SCHOOL SO CHILL THE F OUT CUZ SOME PPL HAVE 0 INTERVIEWS AND MULTIPLE REJECTIONS. end of story

JasonE or whoever you are, just chill the **** out. She never told you she had 7 ****ing invites. She had a mdapp and you decided to take a peek. Did she ask you to check it out? All she said was that her description of her previous MCAT probably hindered her chances. I believe this is natural. We are all neurotic and this process has taken a toll on our collective sanity.

I am tired of you calling out people on SDN. You seem to be a very bitter person anonymously and in real life. If you were offended by her post, couldn't you have just said, " Aye, chillax, you're doing great in the cycle" or something to that effect instead of simply castigating her? **** off son!

hm... well from the other threads I'll have to agree that JasonE is a bit more negative than we'd like to see. At the same time it gets a bit tiresome seeing people completely freak out because

1) my app has been complete for 1 week already, if I haven't heard anything, is that a silent rejection?
2) the first batch of invites went out 10 seconds ago, why haven't I heard anything yet? Can I assume they don't want me?
3) I have 20 interviews in September, but I REALLY wanted an interview from Johns Hopkins, but they haven't sent me anything yet. Life isn't fair.

So yeah, JasonE may have overreacted, but he also says what many of us are thinking. We just try to be more cordial about it.

Everyone chill. At least you don't live in Palos Verdes where your $1.2 million home is ablaze.

I had the hardest time booking my flight to Lebanon Airport and it seems like I won't be able to attend the optional student led tour at the end of the day because of my return flight at 4:20. Do you think this could affect me negatively?

Also, would it hurt to call them and let them know of my schedule so they can assign me an earlier interview time in the day? They have 2.5 hours blocked out for two 30 min interviews.

They won't care if you go to tour at the end of the day (I skipped mine). I also requested that they get me the two earliest interviews possible so that I could fly out and they did.

For everyone else: don't fly into Lebanon. Fly into BOS or MHT. There's a bus from Logan (Boston) every two hours to campus. MHT is about a 1-1.5 hour drive from campus. There's also a bus the comes less frequently from MHT to campus.

You can also fly into Burlington Airport (BTV). It's about a 1.5 hour drive from campus.

Thanks for the response! If I knew about the bus from Logan I would have picked that one but I guess I am stuck now. I'll call them tomorrow about my flight time so they can give me the earliest interviews that day.
 
Does Dartmouth accept secondary payments through Discover Card? My Visas are maxed out right now, and I haven't gotten to the payment options yet.

Discover rocks. I don't use it, but my girlfriend does and she gets ridiculously awesome benefits on a basic card. It gets a bad rap because it defaulted awhile back on its payments so now it's comparable to Amex in terms of how widely it is accepted.

Best wallet combo = Visa/Mastercard + Amex/Discover, lol

Straight up. lol 1 visa + 1 amex for myself! Amex helps me out at Costco and I use my Visa everywhere else because my Amex only pays really good benefits if I charge a boatload. We all know why any person in their early 20s has that amex... set yourself up for that platinum card later in life! lol

Completely agreed. The jealousy really is unbecoming. Equality's concerns are just as valid as yours or anyone else's for that matter. It's hard watching other people get interviews at schools your really want to attend even if you already have multiple interviews. I myself have 6 interviews but I can't help but feel a bit disappointed when I haven't heard anything from my favorite schools.

The bottom line is quit being such a d-bag.

who said i was jealous? who said i don't already have interviews? who's the one resorting to name calling? too many premeds need to chill out. it's a long process and no matter how sweet you think you are, there are thousands of applicants who think the same.
 
is it just me or are there usually no flights from california to the lebanon airport. i cant seem to find flights to the school. any help? thanks
