gatorbabe, I sent one in to GWU too and unlike Drexel, they actually responded! It wasn't a form response either, not like that means anything, but it made me feel better that a live person responded! I used [email protected]. Good luck with your letters! :luck:
 
This may have been addressed in the thread already (apologies in advance), but anyone know if lectures here are video/audio recorded? I have a terrible tendency to zone out or pass out during lectures, so GW's 9-5 lecture schedule kinda terrifies me. If it's recorded tho, that's okay. Anyone know?
 
hi everyone,
Is sending a letter of interest to give updates and express interest in the school too late if it's sent 4 weeks after interview? And should it be addressed to the Assistant Dean of Admissions?

Wow... got an interview invitation today out of the blue. I was complete in July.
 
Interview Invite today!

Complete since July. On hold since October. Emailed in a letter of update 2 weeks ago.
 
I got an invite today too. It was a few hours after I sent an update letter, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I was on hold since September.
Anyone know how we can find a student host to stay with.
 
New to the forums, but I have an interview for February 6th! Hope to see people there!
 
received an interview invite this morning - complete since early july, on hold for re-review for what feels like forever.

sent one update in mid september, another in early january.

interviewing in mid february
 
Does anyone know how big the class of 2014 will be? And how many slots are available as of now?
 
got an email today saying basically

"Your file has been placed in a pool of applicants that the Committee may review for future interviews." What the heck does that mean? any chance of interview?
you have to respond if you still have continued interest in the school.
 
I got the same e-mail. Has anyone replied with their letter of interest yet? Generally, how long are letter of interests and what points are brought up in them, besides, of course, your interest in the school.
 
I just received an interview invite and was wondering if someone could give me a quick rundown on the interview format and how long until they notify after the interview? Thanks in advance...

just got that email today. maybe that means we are close 2 being re-reviewed? I'm thinking of restating things i said in my 'why gw' essay that i wrote last year. also thinking about saying that i have no acceptances or waitlists, and 4 rejections. jk that would make me look bad. But realistically i will prob add a sentence saying 'i am strongly interested in the school'.

so is it better to have gotten the e-mail or not lol....i've been on hold for a while now and didn't get it....ahh gotta love the over-analyzing everything in this process 😕

What a silly e-mail for them to send us. If I wasn't interested in interviewing, even at this point, I wouldn't have applied in the first play and dumped $125. Stupid people.

hehe.... i couldn't decide whether i thought it was smart of them at this point in the application cycle or kinda silly.... like... making us beg them for an interview.....

i guess they assume that some applicants may be holding acceptances at schools they would go to over GW and weren't responsible or considerate enough to withdraw their applications previously.....

i would love another interview 🙂 ... i've had the weirdest application cycle ever........

A lot of people have gotten into other schools that they prefer but haven't bothered to withdraw from GW yet...
 
I got the email too, and I just sent in an update/interest letter two weeks ago. I think I am going to just reiterate why I want to attend...

👍 pretty much...i'm just sending them something brief. there's nothing i haven't already said a thousand times in either my AMCAS or secondary to say now; i don't feel like being a broken record about it.
 
apparently i'm the only person who didn't get this e-mail....bummer
 
This process is grueling and intense and at times even unethical/nonsensical. My biggest issue is with schools that seem practice silent rejections and or have not even contacted me after collecting my fee. I take issue with that. I understand why that email sucks but atleast it's communication. Drexel is doing something similar and when it happened to me I was just happy to know where I stood. Just a thought! Overall I think this process is 😱😱.

I got the same e-mail everyone else has been getting. I haven't replied yet, I'm thinking of saying I'm no longer interested so that someone else can have a better shot at an interview. I've been accepted at Downstate and I think I'd rather go there, although I don't know a whole lot about GW.

Does anyone who has interviewed/been to both schools have any thoughts or suggestions about this?

Congrats to people who got interviews in the last few days!

Same with me. So if I do't send a second update letter will they think I'm not interested?

I dont think soo. I believe what you say needs to have something new in it. Otherwise it may annoy them. Just picture a room full of older Doctors reading all that youve submitted aloud. How does it sound all together. I am not discounting nagging as a usefull tool, but how usefull and at what point does it hurt you rather then help you? Been wondering this myself. 🙂
 
I also already sent an update a few weeks ago and received this letter. I didn't rewrite the letter I simply asked if the original is not in my file to let me know and I would be happy to resend it. I just added a few more things I forgot to say in my original letter so it wasn't a very lengthy email. I doubt it matters much anyways, they are just trying to narrow down the pool now that some may have acceptances they prefer over GWU.
 
I got the email too but I don't plan on interviewing there if I get the chance. Should I reply and say that or just not email and wait for the Feb 10 date to come and go? I figure it would be nice to notify them but it doesn't say anything about emailing if you are not interested any longer...

Well not being a nag is not helping me whatsoever. Since I'm already planning on reapplying maybe I'll pick out a few schools I wont apply to again and get a little obnoxious. 😉
 
I just sent the update yesterday with my fall grades and everything and I still got an email. I'm assuming they just sent it out to everyone who's application was on hold regardless of previously sent updates. I send a quick email back just saying that I'd love and interview.
 
I think I might withdraw, I'm still thinking about it though.
 
I got that email today, too. I didn't turn it into a letter of interest, I just told 'em I'd love an interview and sent it off.
 
I also received "the email" and sent a letter of interest in reply, my first correspondence since my secondary.

How should I tackle that email? what should I say in it? etc.

I got the email as well. Just sent one back with the decision to withdraw. Hope you guys still looking for an interview get one! GL

Hey Mandiblespeaks,
Was the email from Drexel you received sent after you completed your secondary? I finished it awhile ago and have not gotten any correspondence from them.
 
Congrats to all those small-pooled. I had no idea GW did this. My secret hope is that they haven't had enough acceptances (which I'm sure isn't true) so a) all of you can be interviewed and b) I can get off te post-interview wait-list and attend GW! 🙂

No drexel e-mail... only the "rereview later in the season" e-mail.....

I didn't get one either. I'm guessing it's because I sent an update letter 3 days ago
 
do you guys know the stats on # of applicants, # of interviews, # of acceptances, etc? thanks!

good luck to everyone who got that ominous message. looks like they are just trying to weed out folks who have been accepted elsewhere...don't lose hope!
