its official i made the airlin reservation and hotel I had to take BWI the only one that was within budget and get me ther the night before the big day. I wish I could stay longer just to tour around but if I get accepted I will be back spring break is anyone else going on the 7 of oct please holla back😍

I just got an interview invite... My preferences were Oct 7th, and Oct 14...

I am staying with a friend in the area and taking the Greyhound down from NYC, staying overnight and taking it back after I go to Ben's Chili Bowl, lol.
 
I am sorry what is Ben's Chili Bowl and you live in NYC my original stomping ground 👍

i heard theres some street parking available outside 1600 Pennsylvania Ave....its free too. ALSO! its VALET!! just give your keys to one of the guys with big guns who looks real mean.

What's the daily schedule like for 1st yrs? some schools are 9-5pm straight... is it da same for Howard?

Until about November, we are typically in class from 8am-12pm. Sometimes longer due to our medicine & society class or the occasional small group stuff. When November hits we start structure & function (anatomy/physiology). Then we are in class from about 8am-5pm.................:scared:
 
I called Mrs. or Ms. walk she is so nice. I had some questions that I can not wait to put fses to the names. Even my students are impressed with my upcoming day and I work in a high school. they have been showing me so much love. I have been teaching them about healthcare reform and euthanasia. how long after your interview do you get a response?

Had my interview today and it was cool, very good day! I got more of a family atmosphere than at a lot of other places I went to so far. The classes seem really close. Also, the faculty I met were all soooo nice and personable. But Ben's Chili Bowl has the best chili cheese fries and chili dogs/milk shakes that I have ever had so when I get a chance to go to DC I go there. Obama and Bill Cosby go there from time to time, alongside many other celebrities.

Yup, what part of NYC are you from? I'm Brooklyn, born and raised.

Yea, Brooklyn is the place to be 😉. The BX is like 2 hours or more from me so I don't head up there that often. I believe it will be around the October 15th date when we find out at this point. Should be a quick turnaround since we are interviewing early. You will receive an e-mail when you are in committee and when you are out of committee. Haha, it was great sitting in on the class! Nice to place myself in a med student's shoes for a sec and experience a first year class for a little while. Ready for your interview next week?

i think that cam out wrong I mean in the morning when i wake up I like to jog then take a shower and go to the interview. I live in MIA i moved here in 06. So I am flying in from fort lauderdale

I just received confirmation for my oct. 7th interview. I'm from MD and I did my undergrad at Howard. Are these the first round of interviews?
 
We are the third day of interviews I do not know if that is the same thing as first rounds. Congrats and good luck I will c u there🙂:xf:

YES interview Invite, don't know what date chose OCT 20-21. PS I am Puerto Rican. Does anyone know if there are currently any hispanics at Howard USM?

Hi does anyone know how Howard evaluates multiple mcats? Do they take the best from each section?
 
I was complete with secondary on aug 18 not september..... Tommorrow is the day I hyped I will be listening to DJ kaled to get that needed energy...Good luck to everyone tomorrow

different school do this differently, but does howard have several professors lecturing for each subject or only one for each subject?

Anyone has any insight on what the interview session is like? Is there multiple people in the room, or single interviewer?

We have several differet professors for each block. Right now we are in immunology.

HUCM is very diverse through all of the classes. I know in my class 2013, we have a VERY diverse class. So to answer your question, yes we do have hispanics here.

The interviews are are 1 on 1. Very personal, conversational and relaxed. Just be yourself and have fun.

I know, last year I was told that my class had about 300-350 interviewed and about 200-250 are accepted. So your chances are very good once you get the interview. All you have to do is be yourself and true and you will be good.

Again thanks for all the love I am really choked up. I will be back on thursday🙂🙂 I am leaving work soon to run to the airport. I am trading in my flip flops for a sweater I hope I do not freeze in DC😍
