um so, i sent in all my stuff to all my schools by early august, but i havent received a complete email, do they give one? i havent been on the ball for this school but everyone seems to lvoe it so... haha

Sinai doesn't send complete emails or have a status update site. You have to call the admissions office at specific hours on specific weekdays (it says in the secondary received email) to check on your status.

Just sent an update (pre-interview). I noticed right after that I'd made a typo (I misspelled a word). It's a good thing I don't stress out about these types of things.

For those of you that have also been accepted, is Mt. Sinai your first choice or are you also considering other NY schools (nyu, columbia, cornell)? I know that I would like to be in NY so I am wondering what everyone else thinks about how all the schools compare.

Hey! I'm considering the other schools as well (although...I really liked Sinai). And I actually did all 4 Manhattan school back-to-back one week in October which was a good way to compare them all at once. You can PM for my own personal opinions.

Columbia has the best curriculum, Sinai has (IMO) the best location and chillest students, Cornell has the small school atmosphere and some of the best facilities, NYU has Bellevue which was awesome. I think there are major pluses to all of them....and judging that all of the doctors in NYC seemed to have done training at multiple Manhattan medical centers/schools I think you can't go wrong with any of them.

Really? I just figured all the tour guides were supposed to call accepted applicants they had seen. Hmmmmm...maybe it was because I was semi-trying to flirt with him......hmmmmm.....

Thanks! Yeah I loved all four schools as well and I'm getting nervous it might be really difficult to make a decision (not to get ahead of myself or anything haha).

I am a student on the admissions committee at Mount Sinai, and I just wanted to clarify why some students have received additional calls/e-mails. After every round of acceptances (fyi: there have been 2 rounds thus far), the admissions committee sends all members of the committee a list of accepted applicants with their respective e-mails/phone numbers and encourages us to contact any of the people on the list to encourage them to come to the school. This usually involves e-mailing students from our alma mater but may also include people we have interviewed or given tours to.

I called the office today and they said that packets just went out yesterday. The deadline printed on the form is December 29th, but the person I talked to said they will extend that since they know they got the packets out late.

Really hope to hear good news from Sinai before February. I interviewed 12/7 and completely fell in love. You know when you go to a school and you just "feel" like there's no other place you could possibly belong? Sigh. Anyone interview with Dr. Chikwe here? Hands-down the greatest interview experience I've ever had.

Everything was handed in for me back in early september. It was a long wait but I waited....interviewed here this past week.

Agreed. I really loved Sinai...and USNews rankings don't matter too much for me...especially because everyone there was so nice. I think my interviewer should be featured on a Youtube video entitled "funny things old Jewish people say". He was a riot. Combined that with the P/F, the whole take your exams online in the comfort of your own home, 9 AM classes instead of 8 AM, it's location a block from Central Park (and the reservoir for running), and just a short subway or bike ride to Midtown...and I was convinced. Joined the facebook group, although I'm gonna wait and see on other acceptances and spring time re-visits before making any final decision. Good luck all..

I don't think it's scheduled yet. I asked my tour guide this when he called me post-acceptance, and he said sometime in April.

Hmm, I *think* its due the 29th but I bet if you call they will 100% understand. There is no deposit necessary, so I think just call and tell them you will send it once you are back
