Just got the secondary!!!

I also got the secondary, but it didn't include a PASSWORD in the email!!?!? Did yours include a password for their supplemental application?

I'm thinking of emailing them, but don't wanna be a pain w/i 24 hours of getting the online invitation..

I had this issue. Just go to the re-register tab. You create your own password there.

I just got the secondary also.

Just so people know, I was verified on 7/27

Your password should have been sent in the very first email correspondence from Minnesota. You can use that to log in. Or do what pharaoh said.

anybody receive this who has been verified first week of August?

has anyone received an interview invite who was complete around aug 28?

My AMCAS was verified 08/07 and UofM said they received my primary on 08/12 but still no email with secondary app. 🙁 I thought UofM was being late w everyone, but looking at this thread, looks like ppl have already submitted secondaries and gotten interview invites..

Does anyone know if schools see our transcripts or just the AMCAS verified class info?
I took a neuroscience course through the psychology dept but AMCAS accepted it as "BIOL" and included it in my science GPA. Could this count as one of my "upper level life science" classes, or could UM have a problem with it being from the psych dept if they see my transcript? 😕

Does anybody know approximately how many of those invited for the secondary get an interview? I've heard some schools invite almost everyone but not sure if that's true at U of M.

I doubt everyone who gets a secondary also gets an interview, but I'm also curious to know the numbers on this.

Where are all the OOS people planning to stay? Anybody managed to find a cheaper hotel/motel in the area than Days Inn?

I'm staying at the Days Inn nearest U of M at 90/night. The reason I did that instead of look elsewhere is their offer to pick me up from the light rail station at the Metrodome (which costs about 2 bucks each way and connects to the airport) and their offer to drop me off and pick me up from the interview. Overall, I think I saved money with this as the total cost ended up being less than 100 and if I had stayed elsewhere, the cab fare would have cancelled out the benefit of a cheaper rate anyway 🙂

Hope that helped, good luck!

Did any other non-trads struggle with question 1? ."Beyond what you have written in your AMCAS Personal Comments, discuss your early life experiences, family background and aspects of your home community that have led to your decision to become a physician"

.
.I have come to the decision to become a physician as a non-trad. The few influences I had from early life/home community are in my PS. Not sure what to write without repeating PS info. 😡

Guys, I live in Mpls and I would recommend looking at the Days hotel on University Ave. or the Radisson on Washington Ave. The Days is 1/2 mile from the medical school and the Radisson is literally across the street. Both are not too expensive. Also, if you want to stay downtown for cheap, the Radisson on 7th Street or the Best Western on 8th Street are good options. Both are well within walking distance of the 16 and 50 bus routes which stop right in front of the medical school on Washington Ave. Take the light rail from the airport to downtown (drops you off on 5th Street) and if you stay on campus connect to the 16 or 50 bus route from the Metrodome Station to get to your hotel.

Thanks so much for the helpful info mcfarag and BrentSp44!!! I ended up booking a room at Days Inn too, but I had no idea that they would be offering such service... hmm, I was going to cancel my reservation because I found some friends who live nearby and are willing to host me, but I might reconsider that...

Anybody who got that email because they started to work on the secondary app early actually get the secondary?

Yes, I submitted the secondary before being invited (applied to more than 30 schools and just trying to make sure everything is done, I did not know they were screened)

A week or two after the email telling me I should not have done that, I received the secondary invite. Maybe they forgave me?

submitted this one over the weekend. i'm sure this question has already been asked but do they send a confirmation email or do i have to check the status page? looks like they've already been sending out interview invites so hopefully they are quick to look at my app unlike many of the other schools i have applied to.

No complete e-mail, just the "track progress" page

Interview Invite today! It was by email around 3pm. I was complete about a week after secondaries came out. I'm an IS student.

Actually does anyone know what time the interview day ends?? I can't seem to schedule this interview because it conflicts with ones I have already scheduled. Thanks!

Interview invite yesterday!!
In-state as well and was complete around August 28th.
I was also wondering about when the interview day ends...

Congrats! I was complete Aug 24th and no word still. SHould I assume I've been rejected?

Oh, the neurotic nature of this place. It is EARLY in the interview process. You have not been rejected. You were complete three weeks ago and you think because you haven't heard something you are out? Chill. Go on vacation. Leave SDN for a week or two. Relax!

Rejected via snail mail...OOS, Complete on 8/28...

sorry to hear it, I was complete on the same day as you and have lower stats. I guess I should start expecting my rejection soon.

For people who have had interviews here already, how did it go? Stressful? I'm interviewing next Monday and was kind of surprised by only having one interviewer and the day ends around noon.

interview invite today, OOS but with lots of MN ties.

oh, well then I hope you get mail too! Just didn't want someone excited for an md letter and then finding a rejection instead.

Had my interview. It was very low stress, only one interviewer. They call if you get in just so everyone knows, the dean told us this. They will mail a rejection. 4-6 weeks

4-6 weeks to find out? Are you sure? I thought September interviewers will find out in mid-December.
