Hi Guys
Yeah the acceptance was real. It seems they just "forgot" about the deadline? I received my acceptance packet a couple days after the email. I was a little nervous about broadcasting it on forums because I was warned that schools could get sanctioned. Anyway, Oct. 15th is over so I guess I can say. Good luck everyone!!

For anyone waiting for the packet... it was in a big white envelope with the letter of acceptance, technical standards, white coat order form (so exciting!!!!), and housing stuff. Theres a $100 deposit.
 
This is my #1 choice and I have been complete since late August and heard nothing! This is the most difficult waiting game ever!

I just got a confirmation of receipt on 9/16, but that told me to make sure I was complete by January. Can't say I had a good feeling about them because their secondary was rather restrictive, but it's still not a happy email to wake up to.
 
hey albany people,
recently received an interview invite, good luck to everyone waiting. i will be scheduling a morning interview, which means I will be there at 815 and expect the day to last for 5-6 hours. For those of you who have interviewed, is it possible to schedule my flight for departure at 4:00pm out of albany?

Yeah you should definitely be fine .. you have lunch and the tour following the interview, which actually finished for us by like 1:00-15. The Albany airport is only about 20-25 min away, and its small enough that you'll get through security and to your gate pretty quickly
 
i appreciate your help. so i looked at the public bus schedule, and its too complicated for me. i can always call them, but Im sure you know whats up. what is the bus # that goes from the airport to AMC and vice versa?

No prob man .. though unfortunately I have no idea about the bus system (I live about 3000 miles from Albany .. so hopefully there are some residents of the area reading this thread). I think if you're staying at one of the motels in the area, they might have a shuttle to/from the airport. Or, if you're definitely looking for some public transportation and can't find anything, the admissions office people are super nice and I'm sure will be happy to help
 
So I wonder if I can call to find my status 😛. I interviewed last week.

Ahh, I think so! My first interviewer was so nice and actually said it went really well .. the second one also agreed with a lot of what I was saying and was really cordial and friendly .. I know its hard to gauge a lot of times whether your opinion of an interview is the same as the interviewer, but I felt pretty good 🙂

BTW: I've been meaning to post this on here, but major thanks to you and sedaniel .. you guys definitely refute the stereotype that premeds are so competitive they'd never help a fellow premed out .. really appreciated your guys help! Wishing good thoughts for November!

Interview Invite and scheduled for nov 10. I was complete sometime in the middle of august. I definitely thought I had been looked over, so dont lose hope if you were complete early and are still waiting!
 
I was complete late August, myself, and just received an interview invite yesterday. I scheduled mine for Nov 22nd at 8:15 AM. I wish everyone that has gotten an interview--or that are still waiting--the best of luck!!

Yea I got this email on 10/20 and I haven't heard anything else from them since then. Hopefully there'll be some good news coming along soon. Does anyone know when their interview season runs until? I'm too lazy to go searching 😀
 
Does anyone who interviewed remember them saying they may start offering acceptances November 1st?... because that's tomorrow.

yep, thats what they said when I interviewed on Oct 21st. although she said that would be mostly for the people who interviewed at the beginning months and that my group would probably hear around mid-november. but what i dont understand is that they vote on us every tuesday following the interview and so they should already have a decision (whether its accept, under consideration, or reject) based on when they met.. so i dont see why they wouldnt just let us know tomorrow in that case.. well, i guess we'll find out!
 
How do they notify people of acceptances?

When'd you interview (if you don't mind me asking ..) 20th or 21st? Did you end up calling them? I feel like the admissions people were so nice they wouldn't hold it against if you called, but I'm not sure if they could actually tell you anything
 
i interviewed on sept 22, when do you think the sept people will hear back? it was so long ago that i don't remember when they said we'd hear back...

also, 2050vlsb, go bears!! im an 09 alum and i def spent my life in vlsb 🙂
 
I think I'm going to call tomorrow... Everyone is very nice there, I don't think it would be a problem either...

yeahhhh! if there's one building on campus that simultaneously made me love and hate berkeley all at the same time .. it'd definitely be vlsb! great to see another cal alum on here!

Agreed .. at very worst, they'll just tell you you'll have to wait a bit .. let us know how it goes!

btw, may I ask when you interviewed?
 
I tried before class this morning because I had like 5 mins and I couldn't get through... Just kept going through automated menus... It was really weird. If I knew the name of the party I was trying to reach I could have said their name, but I was scared to say anyone's name.... I'll try again this afternoon

I called. They're holding off on releasing decisions until December. 🙁
 
yup... just got off the phone with them. Same thing.
 
I was complete in late August and have heard nothing from them. Is it too early to call them and see what is going on with my application?
 
Interviewed today... the best thing about it were the interviewers.... both were absolutely wonderful, great talks about a wide range of issues and ethical beliefs... I hope that counts for something...

Good luck to all else still waiting...Albany seems like a great place to study and see it all (no L1 trauma center though, they are L3..but its OK)

I'm pushing my interview till december because I have another New York interview lined up. I'm thinking of doing a vacation week in New York in Dec plus do a couple of interviews 🙂

ohhh can I bother you and ask which day in September you were complete? I was complete on Sept 28 and I'm wondering if I might have been passed over or if I should look out for an email soon....

I was complete September 23rd... however I'm not sure if Albany does things in chronological order...

Edit: Moogle was complete late August and (just now?) got an invite also, so I don't think Albany does it exactly chronologically

Yea it seems pretty random the way they give the interviews out. I waited a long time so I wouldn't worry too much if you think you got passed over. odds are the interview will make its way to you eventually.
 
I'm still not marked complete! I submitted the secondary on 9/24. No letters posted. Emailed them on 10/18 about this, they posted LoRs that day but still was not marked complete? What gives? Should I call?
