Congrats! Wow, haven't even gotten the secondary yet. That's cool they call for the invite rather than email. So much less exciting to get an email.

I'm not really sure because the status page only lists my status as of today. Also, I was out of the country this past week, so I wasn't able to check the website. I maiiled my secondary on the 19th, if that helps. By the way, congrats on your interview at Virginia. If only they would extend one my way.

Youll be complete, when they receive your primary, you do the secondary, and pay for it, when you get all your LORs in, and finally they need to get to your file.

Congrats!!! This makes me so freaking nervous because Loyola is one of my top choices and I haven't sent in the secondary yet! Actually just have a couple finishing touches and then it will be ready today... I hope they like my essays, they took me forever. I must have revised and re-read like 15+ times... lol

Ugh this is so frustrating!!! I've never taught myself anything that was academic/scholastic or done independent research so how the heck am I supposed to approach this? I'm about to say I taught myself the MCAT lol

I have very little research. And the research I did required no critical thinking on my part. Therefore, I do not know what to write on the research question. I do not have any self education either. Is it OK if one leaves it blank? If not, what are other things that I can talk about? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure we can talk about a non-academic thing here? From the question it looked to me that they want something scholastic.

Hmm.. it says self-education which I think could fall under an instrument or hobby.. I think they are looking for anything you taught yourself or scholastic/research. I think it's better to talk about this rather than leaving it blank.

Not sure though, I talked about research lol

I'm in the same boat. Verified 7/2. I'm not too stressed... just annoyed that people already have secondaries/interview invites. I plan on just having all the essays done so that the day it arrives, I send it right back to them. Loyola is one of my top choices... so I view this extra time waiting for my secondaries as a way to make sure all my essays are perfect! 🙂

I was verified mid-June and received the secondary 5-6 weeks later. A little longer than most, but I actually kind of like the fact that Loyola takes their time and has you complete a longer secondary. IMO it makes me feel like I'm more than just a number to them... but the wait is never fun.

I agree! If we do get invited to interviews at the same school (which we will!), one of us will have to change our interview date so we both can meet up on the same date. 😀

I was notified by phone and email. I have been very impressed with Loyola this last week as they have been extremely courteous and nice. I was complete (according to their website) on July 30th.

I mailed it Monday of last week (so the 26th?). I live several states away and they had it marked complete by Friday the 30th.

Once all required components (letters of recommendation, evaluation inventory form, etc.) have been received in our office, your application will be reviewed by our Committee on Admissions."

Yeah it said something to the nature of "your application is complete and currently under review" at some point this last weekend. Maybe yesterday? Not sure. But it changed to that.

Haha, that IS one possibility...at the same time, the whole rejection thing is possible too! 🙁 I mean, rejections are the norm for applying to schools...🙁 Can't be interviewed/accepted to ALL the schools to which one applied.

Oh, My bad...I ASSUMED! (since MOST schools do? Although in retrospect, I could totally be wrong!) I HOPE NOT at this point...

I did find out (and this is off topic, so I apologize) that SUNY Downstate doesn't...it was buried in one of their admissions policies webpages...so maybe Loyola is the same way...honestly, who knows how schools "really" do things...

So applying early doesn't necessarily mean you'll be earlier than someone who is a day later, it just means you'll be in an early batch.

Hmm if thats the case then maybe I am not screwed because I haven't heard anything from anyone yet. I would definitely be shifted toward the bottom. I am just hoping that somewhere looks past the numbers and reads some of those excessively long secondaries.
