The e-mail told me to call NYMC admissions to fix it and the girl I spoke to goes "Oh, we've had all of your letters since August 12th, I'll go ahead and complete your application now". So instead of being complete August 12th, I was complete September 2nd.

Moral of the story: Call and get their butt's moving.

If I remember correctly, the student host program should have been attached to your email, or else you will receive an email shortly after your invite.
 
Just got an interview invite, complete 8/6.

Does anyone know where to schedule the interview? The email says to do it on the status page but I don't see anything there.

EDIT: I used Internet Explorer to schedule the interview and it ended up working. Chrome doesn't work.

Does NYMC operate on rolling admissions? i.e. is it to our advantage to schedule earliest possible interview?

I scheduled my interview for Wed, Sept 22. Hope to see some of you there!

In answer to the previous question, I was complete Aug 2, but something weird happened with a letter and it wasn't received till Aug 9 even though they all were sent by AMCAS at the same time. I just had to call them (on Aug 9) and she manually updated the database I guess?
 
i used chrome and i clicked on "schedule interview" even though it didn't contain a box and a hand did not appear as i scrolled over it.
 
My application was complete on 8/2.

Ugh I was complete on 8/3 - probably means ive been passed over.

Oh well.
 
Yes NYMC is on rolling admissions and it is to your advantage to schedule as early as possible.
 
Interview invite! OOS, 31R, 3.35 cGPA, complete end of July-ish? Interviewing 9/22.

This gives me hope. I was complete 7/30. I thought NYMC had passed over me.
 
did they actually complete/start reviewing on 7/29 julyish? I know they kinda lag as people have turned them in July, but have not been put under review by them or weren't till later.

Well for me I submitted my secondary July 28th and everything was marked complete and under review by July 30th... so I didn't see the lag you are talking about. All my LORs had been in since early july though and no waiting for MCAT scores either.
 
Hi everyone,

It says on the instructions that

one (1) may be from a non-science course.

So this means that I dont have to send a letter from non-science, correct?

my non-science is on the weaker side, so I'd prefer to use only my science LORs


ALSO, I submitted my LORs through AMCAS only today, so I don't see any LORs on the NYMC secondary. Do I need to wait until NYMC receives the LORs from AMCAS? How long will this take?

It seems like I can't complete the secondary until they receive my LORs

Interview invite this morning that came as a complete surprise! Scheduled for 10/5. Does anyone know their interview style: How many faculty per student, etc? I'm so excited!
 
Does anyone know the best way to get to NYMC from La Guardia airport? The interview invite email mentions to get to grand central station. Should I go there from La Guardia or is that only recommended for JFK?
 
I'm thinking about adding NYMC to my AMCAS but my MCAT isn't that great. My GPA is good, but not amazing. I did finish an SMP with a Masters of Science in Bio with a 4.0 GPA though. Do you guys think I still have a chance? Is it too late to submit my application to them? I know the earlier the better and it's already september 8th 🙁

Congrats on all the interviews. Unless it has changed, you will have one interview with a faculty member. There was one student in my interview group that had 2 interviews because he also had to interview with a 4th year student. The rest of the day consists of a tour and you get to have lunch in the cafe. In regards to flying, I flew into the White Plains Airport and it was actually less expensive than NYC ones. The airport code is HPN. Any specific questions shoot me a PM and I'd be glad to answer.

What email am I sending? (the one saying I have FAP?)
 
If anyone is from around Philly (within an hour) and wants to carpool there and back, let me know. We can split the cost of tolls/gas. I have a car. Also, willing to split a hotel room.

I'm interviewing on 9/22...really excited 🙂.
 
For the FAP, you just send them a copy of the email you received from amcas, thats what I did for mine.
On the other hand, I have been complete since 8/19 so I am really hoping for an interview.. Goodluck to everyone!

If i remember correctly, I sent a copy of the email that I received from AMCAS by mail. But you can email them and see if they will accept it through email.
 
Anyone complete after 8/10 get an invite? I'm getting nervous.

I was expecting a confirmation page... so am a little confused
I submitted it again just to make sure~

Does anyone who got an interview invite (woohoo!) know how to stay with a student host? The website says to please make arrangements directly with the student, but is there a list of available students or anything?

There's a word document attachment to the invite email that gives you all the info for hosting.
 
interview scheduled for Monday, 11th of October. Just got the II today.

Is anyone flying into HPN/Westchester? I plan to fly into JFK and head over to grand Central...and just take the train up. Doesn't sound too painful. Also, from SoCal, flights seem expensive this time around, except for Jetblue, whihc is around like 390 or something.

Stats: 3.8 cGPA, 3.73 sGPA, 29P MCAT, OOS, Non-Trad. - 3.5 yrs working full-time in cardiovascular and cancer research

Congrats to those who have received invites! I just added this school to my AMCAS...I hope they send me the secondary soon. I tried jumping the gun and signing in with my old info and it has my previous app stuff there. I guess I'll have to wait so I don't screw anything up 😛

Thanks for sharing, Goodluck. It seems that people get their interview invites a month and a few days after they are complete.

Man.. I think I got passed over. I was complete 8/4 with about similar stats and have not heard a word. Hopefully some good news will come soon :xf:

I wouldn't worry, there's only a 2 day difference between my confirmation and yours! Good luck! :luck:
 
Yea there is no reason to worry because they might be backed up and thats why its taking a long time, plus remember that they always come back and review the applications later on so there is always hope as long as you havent received a rejection.

Thanks for the encouragement 🙂 I am reapplying here and I know they do silent rejections so I guess thats why I am a little nervous. It is still early though. This process is SOOO draining 😱
