I'm pretty sure I met you during my interview day. You were wearing a blue engineering shirt from a canadian university, right?

Yesh! good memory! you will be taking good patient histories in the future 😉

The deadline to apply was October 15. In addition, you would be at an extreme disadvantage applying this late.
You needed to have your AMCAS verified and marked Northwestern to receive your application by Oct 15th.

if you have already done that then...
"The Feinberg supplemental application, letters of recommendation and processing fee must be transmitted to our Offices no later than November 30, 2010."

You aren't too late to apply... you just better have a stellar application, otherwise your file will be overlooked as they will have already interviewed amazingly-good applicants by this point.

Interviewing here December 1! I was complete two months ago! Patience y'all! It really is the name of the game

interested to see what the panel interview is like (and a bit nervous), i only know one other school (emory) that does it. from a couple of people, i heard the interview experience here is amazing (and it's >50% acceptance rate post-interview) so high expectations!

does anyone know if feinberg gives out any merit scholarships, and how many?

My application still says "complete and under review" and its been a month and a half already (submitted 9/2). does it stay "under review" until you get an interview invite??

Mine has said the same since August 3rd. I have a feeling since mine has been so long it is a silent rejection.

Hello...
I wouldn't assume that you've been rejected just yet. I was complete on 8/2 and just received an invite on 10/17. Hold tight (easier said than done, I know). Stay positive. Best wishes.

Awesome! Well played!

btw... The T says you can write when you have a mind to.

Thanks! I wish that T would factor more into the decision process-- I hear a lot of schools don't even look at the writing score.

Thanks for the words of encouragement; I'm in the same boat as the poster to which you responded...awaiting an II even though I was complete early August.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm somewhat below Feinberg's average MCAT score.

Congrats on your interview invite. I hope that I hear back too. I was complete in early september though so its probably too soon to start to worry.

Is NW slower in evaluating secondaries and sending out interviews? I'm sad that I havent gotten one. Are there a lot of people getting interviews for MD only?

I interviewed here this past week and thought I'd share a little about my experience.

Firstly, the panel interview was great. It's either 2 or 3 adcom people and 3 interviewees. You get a few group questions/tasks (one which requires a semi-substantial amount of time) and interviewees are asked individual questions. It runs about an hour and 15 minutes. The individual questions would all probably be categorized as the bizarre kind for which no one can prepare. One guy on my panel had quite clearly over-prepared himself and regurgitated answers which were inappropriate for the question asked (mostly because they were so... weird). I thought it was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your ability to engage a group of peers and think critically about a situation. In addition to discussing alien (and I mean extraterrestrial) education and all-powerful machines, there were some ethical situation questions thrown around. The 1-on-1 interview was very short and seemed relatively unimportant in the scheme of the interview process.

The tour was pretty informative. Got to see the anatomy lab, study spaces, lecture halls, etc. Unfortunately we couldn't go into the hospital because there was some sort of infection/virus running rampant. Students seemed really excited about the school and receiving their education Chicago.

At the final info session of the day the Associate Dean shared these statistics with us:

~700 interview invites go out
~1/2 of those who interview are accepted within 6-8 weeks
class size of 170
generally little, if any, waitlist movement

If you've got any other questions feel free to post them and I'll see if I can produce an adequate reply

gl all!

Interview invite on Oct. 12. Complete on Sept. 1 (or at least application and fee received that day).
Anyone else going to be interviewing on Nov. 3?

I'll be there on Wednesday! First interview... kinda nervous

Great! Hopefully we meet each other, although I probably go around asking people if they're on SDN.

Can anyone comment on how many people interview each day? I have this impression that there will be a lot of people because of the panel interviews, but I could be wrong.

There will be roughly two groups of about 8-10 people each. The tours are conducted separately per group. The panel interviews are done in pairs or groups of three interviewees.

(During some of my interviews a lot of people have been making fun of SDNers,...I am not sure I would go "asking people" ..)😎

Thanks! very helpful.

I completed my application on 9/21 and I haven't received heads or tails of anything since then. Am I done for? What was the length of time it took from submission to hear back from them?

Not a problem jpkb24. Glad to help!

And btw, there were 18 people there when I interviewed last week. They ran three panels at a time with three interviewees each. If you weren't in the first set of panels you did your one-on-one interview in the meantime. Lots of students came by to chat during the downtime.

Hey there! I finally made an account just to comment on the fact that no one else is commenting!

I figured that we would start hearing back from Feinberg soon, as people started hearing back November 4th last year. (yeah i creeped last years thread):xf:

Anyone with me?

I am with you! I could not resist and had to check out the thread in detail as well! It was definitely the first week of november. I interviewed mid october, so it may be too early form me to find out. I am hoping to have some news (God, let them be good news!) before Xmas.

G'luck to you!

Interview invite today! Don't give up hope, I was complete all the way back in early august. For the stat-mongers: 3.8ish, 36

ARGGGG waitlisted till march... does that mean pretty much I'm doomed for a rejection? I really liked northwestern too 🙁

Accepted!!!!. Interviewed 10/15!!! I have been loving this school forever!!! :soexcited:

Good luck everyone!!!!!

In State (though I don't know if it really matters at a private institution) 41Q 3.87

They are reviewing my application again in March. blah.

Does that count as a wait list?

Most certainly not. I waited for over 2 months before I got an interview invite. If you look earlier on the thread, you'll see I'm not the only one. Don't give up! Their interview season is only around halfway done. Maybe you'll get an invite around Thanksgiving or later?

Question:
Filling out the acceptance thing on the status page just means "yes, I'm holding on to this acceptance, I heart you too NW" and not "I'm 1000% matriculating here," right?

Yes, you can continue to accept other offers of admission until May 15.

Accepted by email yesterday!! Interviewed 10/22. Good luck to everyone else out there!!

Congratulations to those accepted!

I just got an invite today for January! 🙂 so happy!

congrats. When were you complete?
Still waiting here 🙁 complete late september here

i interviewed before some of the other people that have been accepted already but have not heard anything.... is this a bad sign ???

I was completed in late September too, and anxiously waiting to hear from them... This is my top choice school, so I have my fingers crossed too! :xf:

To those who haven't heard anything back yet- hang in there!

Invite this morning (5:30am) for January! Complete beginning of August.

Just accepted! I loved this school and downtown Chicago. I was sure I had screwed up the panel interview though....haha 😛

Accepted! I cannot believe it, I thought I totally botched my panel interview. The other two in my group were ridiculous Ivy grads who'd both spent time working in Africa and the NIH, respectively. I, on the other hand, am a traditional kid who went to school in Nebraska. Go figure!

Accepted!
Complete: Late September
Interview Invite: Early October
Interview: October 27th
Accepted: 11/23

Good luck to all!

I'm so pumped, accepted today and interviewed on Oct. 4th. Has a group been started for our class yet?
