When you guys are typing the responses into the PDF file, how many lines can you fit into the boxes? The text appears very large on my computer and I cannot fit more than five lines, and it won't let me adjust the font.

For the "how did you hear about RFU" question it only allows two lines.

If that's the limit I don't really have a problem with it but it just looks awkward on my screen and I want to make sure my computer is set up properly.

Yea this was a weird one but I just made a text box and put it over the box that was already there. So I filled up the text box because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't give such a big box if their limit was like 5 lines.

The RFU question definitely allowed more then 2 lines for me. I forgot exactly how many.

I'm not sure how people were able to create a larger text box in the PDF. I tried it into Adobe Professional and it was totally locked up. Ended up just cropping and pasting the elements into a new page and reformatting it completely.

anyone else having trouble w/ the pdf? the boxes dont fill all the way. The big ones stop with like room for a few more lines.

the "how did you hear abut rfu" question stops after 3 lines.

anyone having these lame problems?

I saved the file and when I try to copy paste my answer I can only paste until half-way in the box - so approx. 800 characters with spaces. Does anyone know why its doing this? also my fonts look kind of big. I am a re-applicant and last year I didnt seem to have any trouble with this. I am using a pc. any help is greatly appreciated

older RF pdf attached. i didn't have the same issues being described.

Just a FYI for people who are still having a problem with the PDF .. someone earlier posted a link to www.pdfescape.com .. you can upload the RFU pdf and then create your own textboxes over theirs and just copy your responses into that.

Quick question about that .. I didn't realize until right now that you could use the pdfescape website to change the font size .. and my font size is a little smaller than if I'd just opened it and used Adobe to type .. will this be a big problem? I was thinking, since it doesn't expressively say you have to type it, if I was write it out, my handwriting would be even smaller .. any suggestions? I finally got the essay to sound right, and I don't want to have go back and delete stuff arghh

I just got my "complete" email! Hooray!! Now, crossing my fingers for an interview! 👍

Stupid question... Mail in a check or am I missing the online payment link somehow?

Got an email from rosalind saying my application is currently in primary screening. Scarrryyyyy.
😱

what does primary review mean!!! Is this the only review before interview invites?

Na, I don't think the font is going to be a problem here. Just as long as you didn't type War and Peace, I'd say it's okay 😎

Hmm how come I didn't find people receiving the primary review email in last year's thread? And it seems like they're moving a lot faster this year.

I accessed the app last friday and the character limit for first two questions was 750, i pasted my longer answer and it accepted it. now i find out its 1500. should i lenghten it? or leave it be...im so ready to just send it out.

Hey guys,

I received my MCAT score yday 26P: 7VR, 10PS, 9BS with a GPA of 3.85. Was wondering if it was worth applying to Rosalind. I'm OOP (canadian), btw. Thanks!

You should call them. I am pretty sure a lot of MD schools have a cut off where if you get a 7 in any of the sections you are rejected outright. Have you looked into DO programs?

Does anyone know what the screening process is? I have a 3.92 GPA and a 27M. (10 P, 7V, 10B).

I am scheduled to retake the test on July 8th? would you suggest I do

I made it through the screening process and I had a 7 in verbal as well.

I'm not having any issues with the .pdf. I'm on a mac using preview and didn't need to do anything special.

Just mentioning it in case people are still having issues. Maybe you just need to download the current version that's on the website.

Primary review email today 👍

Looks like we're all in the first batch - maybe I'll get to meet you all at an interview day :hardy:

Congrats. I'm jealous.

p.s. I think you have one of the best handles on sdn.

Thank you!

You, my friend, have great stats! I see this app cycle going well for you :luck:

Thank you. I hope you're right. I definitely understand why people say that this process is nerve racking and humbling. I think my first interview invite will help me relax a little, but for now I'm stressed.

hey I have a question about MD/PhD, the website states interviews r held in february feb, but does anyone know when interview invites r sent out?

Just decided to apply here! Applied a bit later than the other schools I chose, but still early enough I suppose :luck:

Got an email earlier today saying I'm complete and that my application will now "go through an initial screening process." Very excited! This is one of my top choices along with the University of Illinois! 😀

Just got the following email:

Dear Applicant,

Your file is complete and has passed a primary screening. This means you are in the pool of applicants who may be invited to interview with CMS. However, this does not guarantee an invitation, and you may be invited to interview or declined an interview at anytime during the admissions process.

CMS is interviewing from September- April, with invitations being sent out via email. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,

CMS Admissions

Looks like you've been "small pooled" - congrats!!

When did you get your email about primary screening to begin with? Seems like the turn-around is pretty quick!

Being pooled is better not rejection! When did you receive your primary screening email?

Yes! I got "pooled"! Complete: 7/14. Primary Screening Email: 7/20

I got the primary screening email 7/20 too. Where's my small-pool notification? 🙁

But congrats to you guys for making it through first round 🙂

I too have not yet received this "pool email". It probably means one of a few possibilities:

1) They haven't gotten to us yet.
2) We haven't been pooled...which could mean either:
a) We're going to be selected to interview "for sure".
b) Adios to our apps...

Who knows what it actually means....

Is being pooled similar to being on hold?

well, here's hoping I am wrong. Last year several people got an interview invite soon after being pooled but some sat in the pool for months.

CMS has been ALOT quicker this year regardless... so who knows. Last year people weren't getting completes until August.

It looks though that those who were not pooled were either 1) rejected or 2) interviewed directly?...

Hopefully we'll be in the latter category!

Hmm I also got the preliminary screening email on 7/20, no email yesterday. Oh the anticipation!

is it safe to assume that if I got my primary screening email on the 21st, but didn't get small pooled, then I'm rejected?

Why would they do this small pooled thing before inviting for interviews...it doesn't make sense.

You aren't rejected until you are rejected. Not everyone gets small pooled, some get an interview invite without being pooled. Pooled just equals on hold for now... kinda of like GWU "re-reviews" you application.

Hey guys for the 2nd question

"Future physicians, research scientists, and other healthcare professionals are expected to work in an inter-professional environment, and Rosalind Franklin University allows students to learn in such an environment. Describe what you envision to be your greatest challenge in working on an interprofessional."

I'm guessing you have to write something negative about yourself in terms of working with a team such as "I am arrogant or I can only work by myself." Or is the question really asking what problems you may see with people working in a team setting?
