Congrats! How's your GPA and extracurriculars?

GPA is about 3.8 for both and extracurriculars include scribe, shadowing, volunteering in the hospital, research, and health organizations. Nothing extraordinary about the ECs but I am very happy with what I have so far.

So I'm convinced that ATM takes all the applications, throws them across Kyle field and picks them for review at random. It just seems like there is no rhyme or reason to how they review them.

omg that's so exciting! You give me hope as well! We have the same stats and similar ECs. Too bad I was complete mid september.. I hope I'll be hearing something soon.

Good luck!:luck::luck:

Yeah...you will hear soon!! I know it is easy for me to say this now that I have one but you never know when you might come home one day and randomly check your e-mail before you start homework and there it is flashing in front of your eyes. Lol... that's actually what happened with me!! All the best👍

Got my interview invite today!! Yay.

Been under review for about 3.5 weeks and would REALLY love an interview 🙁 congrats to those who have gotten them so far though! Does anyone know if A&M accepts update/interest letters? I was going to call and see but I figured I'd poke around here first.

FINALLY! took forever, but I got my interview invite this morning...almost deleted it accidentally! lol...went under review about 10 days ago for those of you wondering.

see you there on 10/28!

Congrats on the invite! Do you mind sharing your stats / are you IS or OOS? I hope I'll get an invite soon too - I'm getting so impatient!!

good luck!

has anyone who's interviewed at a&m had a&m shown up on their match list?

No. I guess TAM is behind on loading the interviwees onto the list. Same with UTMB also. As long as they do it before Jan 10, its fine. TT & UTHSCSA were on it from the first day-oct 15.

Interview Invite - OOS! Complete 6/2, transmitted 7/7, secondary complete 6/6, under review 9/17.

How does A&M respond to applicants calling them? I transmitted 8/24 and have been under review since 9/16. I feel like a pretty competitive applicant and was really hoping to hear from this school. Is it too soon still to call and ask for a status update?

ACCEPTED!!! OOS! Just got the email this morning! So excited as this school usually gives its OOS students nice scholarships 😀! I really liked it here, but as I had my interview in College Station, I think I'm going to have to take a trip down to Temple now to see that campus too! Really love all the options they have for their students!

👍 Accepted! OOS obviously. Just found out this morning. LOVE A&M!

Hope you don't mind, but what were/are your stats! And congrats btw!!! 🙂 As an OOS, why did you choose Texas and specifically, why A&M?!

I can message you my stats. I'm a Missouri resident but I'm living and working in Dallas and moved down here with the intention of attending medical school in TX. A&M is a great fit for me for a couple of reasons, first they are expanding hugely and serve a wide area of the state, esp rural underserved areas. Their association with Scott and White Hospital in Temple was a draw for me, their focus on making sure their students excel on the USMLE, and how welcoming the environment was were all great things in my opinion. Also, they have a systems based curriculum and an incredible new sim center. Win win win.

Sort of long-winded, but there ya go! Good luck everyone!

Congrats and a HUGE thank you for all that great info! Although I'm OOS Tx has really become my home for a number of reasons - specifically the BCS area. I'll be interviewing there in a week and am really excited, obviously! That said - what was your day like / the actual interviews? Where is the new sim center you mentioned - that sounds like a big draw. Is there any advice you'd give to someone who's heading into an interview there?

Almost all of the schools ive interviewed at in Texas sell their SIM lab as "brand new", "state of the art", or "ahead of the curve." They are all really cool though, so I'm sure A&M will be up to par. I guess we'll see in one week!

Sure thing. First of all Ursa, as I'm sure you will see when you get there A&M is in the middle of some huge construction projects. When I say the SIM center is new I mean that this is the first year it is going to be used. Brand new. The SIM center I am talking about is in Bryan, so for those of you interviewing at Temple, I can't speak for the facilities there.

Cyguy the interview day was great but long. You get to tour everything, the classrooms, SIM center, even the hospital in Bryan. I really liked this because I really got a feel for what going to school there will be like. My tours were not done by students, but we did have a student panel at lunch so we could ask questions. I guess my advice would be to wear something comfortable because you will be walking around and getting on and off buses (to and from the hospital, etc) all day. My actual interviews were extremely conversational, we spoke about my interviewer's research, my extracurriculars, study abroad etc. All the normal stuff. I didn't get any ethical questions or questions on health care policy but of course those are always fair game. Just be genuine. The people at A&M are and they really love their school and it seemed to me like they really wanted to show it off.

i wish A&M would get back to me already =(

GPA: 4.0
MCAT: 31

transmitted on 9/1
submitted secondaries on 9/6

ive gotten 3 invites so far

And I was transmitted on 8/24

Sigh, me too. I was transmitted on 9/14 and haven't heard anything.
I was even waitlisted here last year. Not to sound entitled, but I'm a little disappointed I haven't heard from them this year (especially since my app has only improved). But the interview season isn't over yet, so don't give up hope! :xf:

Interview invite today!!! ...Transmitted 9/28 but wasn't complete until 10/15. SO excited!👍 Interview is on 11/18

can i ask what your stats are?

I don't feel comfortable putting my Stats online but they are below average, but my clinical experience/research is wayyy above average. You should know that things are not all about numbers🙂

:luck:to you

I got a call today, which was actually pretty cool that they called me. Interview on October 28th at Temple!! Such a short notice but I'll take it! My 3rd interview invite🙂
cGPA 3.88
sGPA 4.0
MCAT: 26 🙁
Good EC's

For people that interviewed there, how was it??

Will anyone else be at College Station tomorrow??

My interview here today was very interesting to say the least! LOL

My interview is on the 12th and unfortunately I'll have to drive to College station the morning of my interview. I'll be out of town the week before the interview and will be flying back to Houston on the night of the 17th and don't arrive until midnight. Guess i'll have to be up around 4:30am-ish to drive to CS for my interview. Its not ideal but I don't have any other choice!! 🙁
