I've been complete since October. I'm pretty sure that's a rejection at this point... 🙁
 
they've only had 3 interview dates so far, so i doubt they're close to done based on last years thread. this is gonna be a long wait 😳:xf::luck:
 
I haven't even received a secondary yet.

I assume this means I'm out of luck. Oh well.

I don't think you should give up just yet. I received a secondary pretty late after my primary. I think they are extra slow this year, especially since they only had three interview dates so far.

So let's keep hoping!
 
According to MDApplicants, students were notified as early as 2/8 last year. Am I obsessed? Maybe a little...:laugh:.

I echo your sentiments. Every time I get a call from a 310 or 213 area I get my hopes up. Too bad my dad gives out my number to random family members for Chinese New Year. It's kinda sad I'm dissapointed when its a family member and not CDU.
 
I hope this is the week nothifications begin. Please? 😳
 
Out of curiosity... Has anyone received a secondary or interview invitation recently?
 
I interviewed mid-october in the first interview and STILL waiting. Last year's thread didn't get an acceptance until after Geffen gave out acceptances, right? Maybe it'll be the same this year?

I also interviewed in October and I had been expecting to hear back any day.

Then I read last year's CDU thread and I saw one member that wrote he had interviewed in Oct and didn't get an acceptance call until April....I still want CDU, but I've officially stopped expecting to hear back. They'll let me know when they let me know.

For anyone still pre-interview, I just got an invite yesterday for Saturday, 3/5.
 
^^Thanks...getting a last-minute ticket to LA was a bit expensive, but I've heard nothing but good things about this program and look forward to learning more.

I could imagine the ticket price being fairly expensive... you definitely had a short time frame between interview invite and interview date.

Congratulations on your interview! You just gave me hopes to receive my interview invite 🙂 I so believe you on the ticket pricing...I've been traveling across the country and boy is it expensive! But hey, it's an investment! 🙂 Best wish on your interview!:xf:
 
Congrats to those that are getting interview invites. Just curious, if you don't mind disclosing, what were your stats like? What are the typical MCAT averages for this program?

I know someone who got in with a 24. He's doing fine. I am under 30 myself and interviewed here and UCLA Prime. I honestly believe Drew is looking for people who believe in the mission and not any specific number per se. Good luck!!

I couldn't agree more. Talking to the faculty at interview day and during the interview I definitely got the sense that it was more about character and goals than scores - we spent probably less than one sentence during the interview talking about grades and the rest talking about what I wanted to do. I really appreciate a school that takes this approach to admissions.

If this was football, they'd say Drew drafts based on the intangibles rather than the measurables. IE they would take Greg McElroy over Cam Newton.
 
Hmmmm but McElroy nearly ACED the Wonderlic test. Wouldn't drafting him be like Drew taking a 42 MCAT haha?

Just wanted to drop my regular line and say good luck. I know the wait is long but just hold on. The CDU class is just as anxious as you to see who's going to be part of the Drew family. And yep Drew does draft people from a wide spectrum of backgrounds but then again every med school does to be honest. Once again there are just so many factors that go into selecting an applicant that to narrow it down to any particular category (especially for programs like Prime and Drew) its almost impossible. If you have any specific questions about Drew never hesitate to ask me. And if I can't answer it, I'll hit up the class. 😀

Stats won't work in Drew I know people in my class with average MCAT scores and great MCAT scores. I was thinking the same thing when I was applying but honestly lol it doesn't do anything but rattle your brain even more.

Decisions...well UCLA is still interviewing so that means its going to be a while. You must be accepted by both UCLA and Drew so I can't say exactly when but I would say hold on. But hey, thats just my guess.

does that apply for GPA's too? My mcat is not my issue....its the other big number that I am sweating bullets about.....

Thanks for the kind words. The interview went well, and I really enjoyed the interview day. This is probably the friendliest, most closely-knit group of students I've met. The trip was expensive, but the experience made it worth every penny. Good luck with the application process.

@ rls303, I personally scored 30+ on the MCAT, but I have to say that my overall stats are not spectacular by any means. I really must echo the sentiments of those who said that character and alignment with CDU's mission matter most, here. I don't know the stats of any of the medical students I met there, but I'd absolutely trust any one of them as my doctor.

They might be having another interview date in the middle of this month. I believe they invite you about 7-10 days in advance. At least that's what someone in the office told me.

To those who recently got interviews: When did you submit your secondaries? I submitted mine almost 3 months ago and have yet to hear anything.

Also, are there more interview days coming up?

CONGRATULATIONS!! That's awesome news.

To everyone still waiting, you can receive your acceptance up until the week of Drew's orientation which starts in mid/late July. So hang tight and can't wait to see you in July!!!
 
does anybody know if there is a separate adcom for Drew at UCLA or is it the same team that does the regular admissions?
