A few people were accepted off the waitlist around this time last year.

When I called to get my position they said you can hear back starting in May, although I know people heard back all throughout the Spring last year, so I keep checking daily, just in case.

Yea I talked to Mr. Rosso, and he said everyone from top 1/3 got in 100%, and as precaution said "let's hope it happens again this year."

I'm guessing last interview is mid of April and the date to give up multiple acceptance is 5/15.

I see. I'm hoping I don't move down, out of the top third. There are still a good 6-7 weeks of interviews.

I think most movements are upward though, I haven't heard of too many people moving down, even now, with interviews still going on.

Hey, good timing, I hadn't checked SDN all day until right now.

So I first checked my status online on Thursday, and that's how I found out initially.

Then, I called the admissions office, and made sure it wasn't a fluke or anything, and they confirmed that it was real.

The next day (Friday), I got the official acceptance email, with instructions to confirm the acceptance and pay the deposit online. Paying the deposit didn't work (apparently you have to wait a few days or the system doesn't recognize you). Personal checks are fine if the online payment system doesn't work. That's what I did. If you get impatient like me, and send a check, make sure you tell the admissions office about it.

On Saturday, I got the package in the snail mail. It was in a small envelope, so don't be alarmed by that.🙂

I received the background check email after the acceptance email, if you are wondering. I've heard of that happening the other way around for people at other schools.

You are in the top third, so don't worry at all. You are pretty much guaranteed to get accepted.😉

Keep in mind that this thread is for the medical school waitlist only, and your status says pre-dental.

I hear it's unlikely to move down a third, since the quality of interviewed applicants remains relatively constant throughout the interviewing season. The ranking is based on the score received after the interview. I've heard of people moving up a third, but rarely ever down, especially with the interviewing season winding down.

If you are talking about the dental school waitlist, I have no idea, but I would imagine that it's similar.

Can you please tell me more about the acceptance email? Did you just accept your offer online or it had to be done through handwritten signature and mail? Because i will not be back in the US until early July so if I got accepted before then, I would have to accept the offer online 🙁

Also, for the deposit, was there a deadline for it? Would the days you needed to wait for the system to recognize you be any trouble for meeting the deadline?

Yes, there is a link in the email to log in and accept the offer. It's also a very good idea to call the admissions office and tell them you accept.
