Also got the alternate list e-mail today. On the bright side, at least we didn't get rejected! Here's to hoping we all get off the list soon.

I got a call today for my acceptance offer - I was on the waitlist. I have 24 hours to decide. I am in a conundrum, baffled over how to choose between U-KY - which is a dream, or my instate school U-WA.... I will keep you posted but at least that means there is Movement on the list! 😀

Wow....I guess I was completely wrong about not much movement 😱

I spoke to someone from admissions recently. She says that there aren't any openings in the class yet... :0(

I don't know what to make of that. May 15th is on Sunday. I would have thought that there would be openings.

Hey CaliGurlMD, did you decide? I'm super curious about what you will choose and why? (if you are willing to share)

I sadly decided to withdraw from UKY - the scholarship wasn't large enough to contend financially with some of my other offers. So although I LOVE LOVE LOVE UKY, I am funding my own education and already have a grad school loan so $ is something I have to take into consideration. UKY is an amazing school, but the price tag was just a bit too high. Good Luck all WLs hopefully spots open up soon - I was told I was #1 on the Wait List so not sure how far down they went after I withdrew.

I got accepted at U Ken from waitlist this morning. I already got an acceptance at EVMS so I think I'm gonna decide by tomorrow. Which one is better? U KEn or EVMS ....U ken's facility seems to be not "up to date". I love EVMS new building with the CAVE (3D lecture room)....I dont know which one should i pick

if what you're interested in are new facilities, then u just might have answered ur question

I didn't apply to EVMS and therefore know nothing about it, but would you rather have new lecture facilities or new hospital facilities? I mean, at the end of the day a lecture hall is a lecture hall. I think you're focusing on the wrong criteria here for choosing a school. What about location, cost, structure of the clinical years, research opportunities, or any other number of factors that I would argue are more important.

Just got off the phone with the admissions office.

-There has been "some" movement since May 15th, nothing significant though it seems.
-Currently the class is full and list is not moving.
-Movement happens in bubbles. They seem to expect it but said it's very difficult to anticipate. It works like a domino effect based on other schools.However, no guarantee of movement.
- apparently schools are talking to each other and not fully reliant on applicants replying to offers.
- No seperate list for IS/OOS. The list is combined.

basically, continue waiting and rest assured that AT THIS TIME, no one is receiving calls.

I don't know if there's a thread for this...

But I've just been putting off finding housing in Lexington for the upcoming school year. I'm from New York (went to high school in Louisville!). Maybe there's someone else who's like me and need to find housing too. If anybody is interested in being roommates, PM me =). I'm pretty easy to live with, but we can always talk more about that later.
