I interviewed on Oct. 7th, and they told us we'd know if we were accepted/rejected/on hold in 2 weeks time (Oct. 21st). I know Case is pretty good with turnaround. Does this sound reasonable?

From case's twitter:
Everything went well at Ad Com last night! Very smooth. Should have those decisions to you soon. Need a few days to get everything entered.
So looks like those of us who were discussed yesterday should find out in a few days!
Hate to be THAT guy, but it seems as you cannot be outrightly ACCEPTED after HOLD. In March those who are on hold might be put on an alternate list (waitlist,) and then they may be taken off usually starting in early May.
well doesn't that stink.
that doesn't seem consistent with what current students have posted in this thread (see page 28) or what it said in the hold letter. my understanding is that they review all candidates on hold after their interview season ends in feb, accept some outright, reject some, and put some on the waitlist. someone correct me if i'm wrong though
I think Matteo may be right. Oh well! Could Myuu or vc7777 clarify or confirm this though? You guys seem to be really busy these days!!!
Finally, INTERVIEW INVITE!!!! My first one!!

Sorry to bother you guys- I read through last year's forum and couldn't find much information. Do you have any idea approximately how many people are placed on hold each year? Are the post-interview rejections relatively rare?

Myuu was one of the authors of the posts I listed.
A hold may turn into a waitlist or a rejection. But probably a waitlist!![]()
So, in the timeline, you interview here and a decision is made on your file at the next adcom meeting. Your possible outcomes at that point are: accept, hold, reject. Following that, when the interview season ends in February, the files on hold are re-reviewed to generate the alternate list some time in March or April, usually March. While it is possible that you could be accepted at that time, the vast majority of the acceptances come after the waitlist domino dance begins post May 15th.
I hope that clarifies things!
In any case, congrats to all those who were accepted! If you were placed on hold, I hope you'll still be around for later.🙂
Looks like more decisions are coming soon!!...From their twitter "Everything went well at Ad Com last night! Very smooth. Should have those decisions to you soon. Need a few days to get everything entered."
I've been complete since 8/18 with no word from either UP or CP. I called about a week and a half ago and was told I was still under review.
Would calling or writing an update letter in another week be appropriate if I still haven't heard anything? Reading through the thread it seems as if most people heard something (rejection/interview) after a few weeks. I wonder if my ad com reviewer went on sabbatical. Oh no! 🙂
As I understand it, applicants can hold multiple acceptances up to May 15th. If a student on hold at Case doesn't receive notification of acceptance until after this date, it seems the only students who will matriculate after being on hold are those who were not accepted by other schools prior to that as they will have committed elsewhere by that point. Is that right?

For Case you have to decide by May 1st
Somewhat correct, you can only hold one acceptance after May 15th; however, you may hold on to any waitlist spots as well. So lets say your accepted at Boonshoft (I really like that name) and waitlisted at Case. On May 15th you would withdraw from anywhere else accepted and put on AMCAS that you're going to Boonshoft and keep your waitlist spot at Case. May 17th you find out you are accepted off the waitlist at Case (which is pretty much like winning the lottery) you now have to make a choice, do I keep the acceptance at Boonshoft or let go of that for the acceptance at Case. Hopefully that can clear things up, and I might be completely wrong but this is the way I have seen it written on here before.
Monday's decisions have been made!
Do you know what dates were considered?
The 10th?Up to and including Monday.
The 10th?
I interviewed late last week, so it's surprising that they made decisions in just a few days....well, let's see. Today is Wednesday, October 19th. This past Monday was October 17th.
So, yes, that includes the 10th, unless admissions has suddenly decided to review applications in reverse chronological order.![]()
