yeah me too...I had a couple interviews at top 20 schools so I don't know what Case didn't like. this kinda stings because it was one of my top choices.

Anyone else with similar stats get rejected pre-interview?

I'll let you know if I get rejected, I'm a late applicant with similar stats was just complete last week.

It's cool. I was browsing through mdapps and it almost seems like adcoms pick names from a hat. Good luck.

Do you get rejections/hold status via email?

My rejection email pre-interview...

I got an II to both the CP and UP last week (Complete 9/23/11) 🙂(!)

But the earliest dates that would allow me to clump the two interviews was in January. Because CCLCM class size is so small, do you think it will be a big disadvantage to interview that late? I might consider making two separate trips out there to get earlier dates..

Also, does anyone know how many interview invites are offered for the College Program (I searched and only found info for the University Program)?

The College Program is not rolling admissions, so I don't think it would be a huge disadvantage to go in January. I believe they interview ~200 students. You may want to wait for a CCLMer to confirm my answers though...I'm just a naive applicant!

Okay okay. This is the start of the 4th month since my app to CP has been complete. I don't know what's going wrong in the process, because I still haven't heard a thing! Ahhhh...

I was first rejected by the CP, then the University Track a week or so later. I'm guessing you'll hear back soon. On another note, you're a fellow interviewee at one of the "top 20 schools" I applied to. Seeing someone else get rejected by Case selfishly doesn't make me feel as bad.

I'm sorry that you didn't get the result you were hoping for. Best of luck elsewhere!🙂

And no, it has nothing to do with hats.

🙂 A vc7777er can answer too. But you've got the general points down!

You will not be hurt by interviewing later. We are semi-rolling. Meaning, we review all applicants several times within the interview season and then we extend acceptance offers a couple of times within the season. We do not over-accept (we cannot play numbers with such a small class size). Tehrefore, we purposefully will only accept roughly a dozen or so this upcoming (first) round.

Schedule a date that works for you. :luck:

Do you happen to know when the first round of acceptances will go out?

Dr. Franco told us at the interview that they expect to interview about 200 of the approximately 1700 candidates expected to apply (1700 was last year's number).

Okay, this information is reassuring. Thanks!

If you look at the instructions, the M3/M4 list is for questions only, not hosting. There is a separate link for the Student Hosting System, sent with your interview invite.

Silly me. I asked the question before I got the interview confirmation letter which indeed has the link to student hosting. Ooops 😛...

I had my interview on Monday so I thought I would share my experience. Case has a great program that is especially suited for independent learners. The students seem to be genuinely happy, more so than the other schools I have visited (although that might have been because they just finished their block exams). The clinical opportunities are definitely vast being that Case is the only medical school in Cleveland and has many clinical training sites in the area. I stayed with a student host the night before my interview and learned a lot about the school in the process.

The interview day was well organized and the admissions staff was very helpful. My only disappointment was that I was not able to sit in on an IQ session because it was the first week of the new block. The interviews themselves were very low stress. My faculty interviewer was easy to talk to and the student interview was essentially just a conversation about the school and the city of Cleveland. The area around the school has affordable housing and seems to be relatively safe. I am not a big fan of the weather, but I suppose I am a bit biased coming from California. Overall, I would say that enjoyed my visit thoroughly and can see myself being pretty happy here.

Hold here. Oh well.

Congratulations to those who got in!

I got in!!! Amazing feeling! I absolutely loved Case!

Interview invite just now (exactly 8pm Ohio time) for both college and university tracks! Couldn't schedule them together until late January. Complete 9/12.

:luck: to those still waiting!!

Yeah, sorry about that. We M1's had exams that week, and the M2's had there pre-test week so they did have IQ either. And don't worry about the weather, we have a lot of people from the southwest, and in comparison the difference in weather between CA and OH is not as big as the difference between say TX or AZ and OH.

Although I have to admit that this thread was part of what first piqued my interest in Case, it is a little difficult to navigate...
Anyone care to give some last minute advice as to absolute essentials in terms of preparation for my interview Tuesday? (I've already done a lot to prepare... but I want to make sure I cover my bases as best I can)

Congrats on the interviews/acceptances everyone!!!

Prepare to be amazed by a wonderful admissions staff and community. I absolutely LOVED my interviews at Case/CCLCM and everyone there was so helpful and friendly and you could tell everyone was happy to be there and happy that you were there to check out the school. As far as the interview goes, just be yourself!! Let your personality shine through, know what you want to get across in your interview, and enjoy it! Good luck! :luck:

I guess nobody wants me to update my Twitter to let them know about when exactly decisions are coming out?

Oh wells

No one calls it "a twitter" on the internets. You guys are making my eyes bleed.

...don't mind me.

Right. Ze' tweets are serious business. All the more reason not to tweet CCLCM adcom info.

Don't mind me. Someone in Columbus seems to have walked off with my wallet.

...this means I get to troll OSU's thread, right?

Ahhhhhh!!! Decisions are up!!! Accepted 😀

accepted as well!

Congratulations to those who have been accepted and hope to see you this Fall! 🙂

Glad to hear you enjoyed your interview experience. I'm also from there, so if you have more questions about the weather or Cleveland in general, feel free to PM me.

You are so mean! Put the poor pre-meds out of their misery and tell them already.

I really liked Case, but was placed on hold. What does the admissions office say about letters of intent/interest?

With a sample size of one, I'd like to think it helps. As long as it's well written and professional, it can not hurt either.

how long post-interview did the university track get back to you guys?

how much difference is there between college track and university track?

can somebody please PM me the student-host availabilities?

Thanks in advance.

I will certainly let people know at the date gets closer. How about that?

Sounds good! Any chance you have that information now? Sorry if I'm pushy, I'm just very, very excited about Lerner!!

Good luck 🙂
