how long after confirming interview did you get the student host list?

it's been 1 week and i interview in 2 weeks! even confirmed it via phone and they said the email is automatically generated

If you log into the app status website- you will see a link to your interview confirmation letter which has a link to the student hosting list. You let them know who you prefer to stay with and then they will find a match, if possible. I am not interviewing for a while, but I was able to get a host in less than two days, I think.

The student hosts got back to me the same day...but I also happened to email them the first day they put the student host list up, so that might have made it (a lot) quicker for me. I don't think it would hurt emailing them again?

PS. Good luck!! :luck::luck: Hope we can be classmates! 🙂

Oy, you interviewing 15th? Nice job getting the interview and good luck.

And good luck to anyone else interviewing here. It's great.

Yup! Thanks 😀 I'm quite nervous since it's my only one so far, so I hope it goes well.

How did your block exams end up going? I ran into a few of my IQ students last week, and they seemed so happy to have them over with haha

Sup everyone. Anyone interviewing next Monday, Nov. 14th?

I signed up for this interview spot over a month ago and JUST got contacted by the student hosting organization saying they might not be able to get a student host for me.... wtf

anyone current students/people who live in cleveland here willing to let me crash on a couch or in a student dorm? I don't really have the resources to book a hotel room...

thanks.

Well, my sources are telling me late 3rd week of December at the earliest, (minus 3.5 days plus 10.5 days 95% CI)

Ahhhhhh that's so far from now! That's ok...I just have to find a way to keep myself occupied!

Could not have asked for a better Veteran's Day gift. II for both CT and UT, complete in early October. Thank you, Case! My number one pick and first II. 😀😍

Was supposed to interview Nov. 15, when my effin' flight got CANCELLED the night before due to technical issues and I wasn't able to get another one.

Rescheduled interview. For the end of January.

I'm ****ed, aren't I? At least for Case Western? I keep hearing January interview = basically interviewing for a waitlist spot, considering I'm not even that strong of an applicant.

(Yes, I got into med school as per my signature, but CW was the first of my interviews that was actually at a.... what's the word, at a "reach" school for me?)

No...you are not ****ed by any means. Case does a very nice job of spreading out the acceptances so that you are never interviewing for a waitlist spot. I interviewed at the end of January and was accepted and there were a few others from my class who interviewed even later.

Hardly. Plenty of people from January and later get accepted. Keep things positive!👍

From case's twitter: "Reviewed Ad Com votes today & they looked good! Will be working on getting everything entered soon. Hang in there!"

This is for dates 10/28, 10/31, 11/1, 11/7, and 11/8

OH MY GOD. I fell even in MORE in love with Case today. I didn't even know it was possible. Great staff, great students, amazing program. My interview group today was awesome as well, really some great people.

Crossing my fingers for some good news in a few weeks :xf:

Congrats on your acceptance! Hopefully we'll be future classmates! 😀

Complete on 9/12...just a little over two months ago.

No news from either program, should I send an email or call? I'm an IS and a native Clevelander so some Case love would be great.

Duh, we are great aren't we. As such, we attract great people.

Good luck to you. And everyone else.

This person here has his application complete since 7/21, and still got no news on CP. So,...

GAAH!! I feel nauseous... :xf:

Am I correct in my understanding that Case's merit aid application is by invite only?...and that correspondence/request should have come with your initial acceptance?

Checked my status page on a whim. ACCEPTED😍!!! Interviewed on Halloween. Good luck everyone! :luck::luck::luck:

Hey guys, I was put on hold today post interview; I was just wondering if this was common and if I still have a chance at getting accepted; also, does Case accept people off the hold list all at once during the month of March or sporadically? Thanks and sorry if someone already asked this question but I really don't want to look throughout this entire 35 page thread haha

congrats to everyone who has already been accepted and good luck to everyone still waiting!

I was looking through last year's thread and it seems like once you're on hold they decide in March whether to put you on the alternate list or to reject you. They don't accept from the alternate list until May. Apparently you can't go from a hold straight to an acceptance.

When do u find out about scholarships?

Is this different from the one they ask you to apply for?

The merit scholarships you have to be invited to apply for. You can, however, get a fistful of free Case grant money that isn't a 'scholarship' per se.

Hmm interesting. I think one of the students we spoke to told us something different then. So definitely need to apply for the merit ones. Gotcha.

This is what was said earlier:
I think people are getting confused. I made my original post to give people an idea of class size to number of people interviewed. I am NOT suggesting that the admitted to matriculated rate is 100%.

The problem with looking at just the interviewed (1053) and acceptances (416) stat from US News (aside from the fact that it includes the Clinic and MD/PhDs) is that at least half of those acceptances are from the "hold" or "waitlist." They are not initial acceptances from interviewing.

Let me explain how the University Program handles acceptances. There are rolling admissions, but very very very few people who interview are given admission shortly after they interview. The vast majority are put on "hold" for evaluation at the end of the interview season in February. After the last group of candidates is interviewed in February, the committee meets again to evaluate everyone they have put on hold. They will then issue a mass set of acceptances at that point and waitlist others. Then as people start choosing schools, the waitlist will move some more. But the fact is, many people who are eventually accepted to Case will not be accepted until around March (regardless of when they interviewed).

So that is why I mentioned the number of people who got immediate acceptances in my interview group of ~15. It is common to be put on hold after your interview. This does not mean that you will not be accepted, but to say nearly 40% of students who interview get immediate acceptances is misleading.

What does this mean? How does one apply fr these?

If you are invited to apply for a merit scholarship, you will get the invitation with your acceptance letter. You can only apply if you are invited.
