Wow, this is amazingly comprehensive. Thanks for taking the time to type this out for us!!Alright well I gathered as much information as I could for all of you...so here it is:
1. They interview a total of 42 students per week, and have been going at it since mid september. Which means its been about 10 weeks of interviews x 42 students/wk = 420 interviews have been conducted thus far, and they invite 750 to interview each season. They are offering 152 spots in this year's matriculating class. So it looks like they are just over halfway on interviews, not including the ones they have sent out, so I would guess there are roughly 250 II's left in the season.
2. The "Rolling Admissions" schedule will continue until the end of January, as do Interviews. When I asked if applicants who interview in late January will have a chance to be reviewed prior to being placed into the final pool, it sounded as though each applicant is indeed reviewed prior to just being thrown into the final pool -- but there was a fair amount of confusion on my part with the final pool business. As far as the randomness of the files the committee selects for review, its just as random as everyone that has posted previously thought it was -- applicants are reviewed at random. The Adcom is composed of roughly 30 members broken down into smaller groups that evaluate applicants then present them whenever the admissions committee meets.
3. All of you should expect a lull in II's and Admissions decisions. The AdCom is taking a multi-week hiatus during xmas time. They have families too, remember this 🙂
4. Everyone should definitively know their admissions status by March 15 --- so hang on tight ladies and gents. Their wait-list is ranked, and we were encouraged to accept our spot on the wait-list because there is movement.
Hope all of this helps, and if I got any of this wrong please feel free to correct me. Good luck to the rest of you. I had a great experience at Iowa, and definitely would love to attend their institution. Anyone interviewing in the future weeks/months, relax and enjoy your interview day. The CBL session at the end was a blast -- don't stress over it, it's meant to be fun. Although the group I had knew a pretty decent amount about various health conditions but everyone has a chance to contribute. Best of luck to you all 👍

OOS Interview coming up on Dec 9th! Everyone says that the structured portion is three questions: why med, how to resolve conflict, what if med not an option, rising costs of healthcare...any others that shocked you that we could prepare for?? Hope it goes as well as everyone else's feedback!!![]()
The 3 questions you get come randomly from a list of 10. They're all on interview feedback. At least, all of mine were. And from my understanding, why medicine is always one of them. Good luck!
