In the Case Western email about the hold list, they said to inform them about "significant" developments. Would 3 new grades and some new volunteering (for a political campaign) be a good enough update?

Also, how is the waitlist movement like at Case Western? I understand that the hold list is not a waitlist, but I would still like to know how much hope I should hold out for a Case acceptance.

Anyone know what my chances will be like interviewing in January vs this fall? Also, I filled out the student hosting form a few weeks ago--any idea when I might expect to hear back? Thanks!

Grades are significant enough to update about, absolutely! It gets you back on someone's radar at the very least.

In an update, do you include grades in an interest/intent email or do you send an updated trasncript? Thanks.

I don't know specifically how Case wants it, but my understanding generally is that mentioning the classes and grades that you earned in a general update email is sufficient. (I suppose if they don't believe you they can ask for a transcript.)

Quick question for all of my fellow accepted applicants (UP): Is there an official Facebook group for us? And if so, what's the link for it?

Apologies if this was previously posted. I tried doing a cursory search for it but failed. Congrats to all accepted and GOOD LUCK to those still waiting!

The link is in the acceptance letter on iapply.

Woops, don't know how I missed that. Thanks for the quick response!

Just noticed a letter in iApply for College Track for being on hold 🙁

Also received a College track hold letter. My letter reads as a "high hold list" and is overall very optimistic which I am very excited about.

Anyone else in the same boat? The clinic is such an amazing place and I can't help but get really excited thinking about it.

Ah well then. Rejected from CCLCM post-interview. 🙁 At least they didn't keep me waiting.

I also received a letter notifying me that my application has been put on Hold. Now that I know that there is a "hold list" and "HIGH hold list," I can't help but feeling uneasy about this letter, despite the fact that it is better than a rejection! :-(

Sorry about those who received not-so-good news.

.
What are some places that students live besides the Waldorf?

Does anyone know if there are still interviews left for the college track? I was put on hold a few weeks ago, and dunno if there is still a chance of being taken off that hold... Any idea how long CT interviews until? Thanks!

Wow, no news is good news, I guess??? I interviewed for CCLCM at the end of September and haven't heard anything. *still waiting*

Oh hey, don't worry. 😀 I feel like there are still tons of interview spots left!! I went in December and they had just started the second phase of interviewing (College track). This also means I'm going to have to wait a super long time until decision are made (they told us March-April). And being on hold is better than a straight up rejection right (which is still better than not hearing anything and wondering if your app was lost lol).

I am sorry! Im sure youll get in somewhere else great. Would you mind telling me when you interviewed?

Is this a pre-interview thing or a waitlist for acceptance sort of thing?

Sounds promising either way, congratulations!

another question for current/former students:

how did you feel about the exam format? I know that at most other schools, exams are all multiple choice, as is Step 1. What did you like/dislike about the essay format for exams and do you think this format helped better prepare you for Step 1, or didn't really make a difference?

Thanks!

Quick question: for someone who interviews at cclcm in late January, is there a super low chance (statistically speaking) that he or she will be outright accepted? As in, because that individual is interviewing late in the cycle, does that pretty much mean he or she will be placed into a hold or waitlisted rather than accepted? Thanks and i hope my question makes sense!

No, it's been mentioned around here a few times that CCLCM doesn't interview for the waitlist.

I'm a bit bummed, but I probably expressed more worries about the curriculum and teaching style than I should have. Early November.

Case Med Admissions ‏@CaseMedAdmiss
Candidates from today's University Trk Ad Com Mtg can expect their decisions in about 3 wks.

I can't take this wait anymore 🙁

Waitlist for MSTP and the email says "many students in your situation are admitted to the program." So I think that means high-wait. Who knows...

For those who interviewed, how did you send thank you letters? Email or snail mail? Thanks!

Rejected pre-interview
OOS 3.6/35
Was really excited about this school but life goes on

I emailed my thank yous because both interviewers provided it but I think either is fine.

bumping this question!

I thought that we would also take an nbme style exam for our benefit only?

Anyone interview in early December for CP and still have not received a decision. My buddy who interviewed with me has already been put on the WL, but no news for me.

I didn't realize that there was a waitlist for CP. Did you mean a hold?

Yea my bad, a hold is what I meant.

The College Program has historically offered acceptances in December and mid-February. I would take receiving no news as good news. Maybe you'll get a phone call in February👍

Due to a recent acceptance I have decided to cancel my interview at Case Western and withdrawal my app. I wish you all the best of luck in applying to Case Western and I hope someone can get that open interview spot.

Wow just checked your mdapps... must be nice being URM

I dunno, after reading his MD Apps, he seemed like a strong candidate with a unique background. Holistic review means they look beyond just your MCAT and GPA (which both seem adequate enough I must add).

Hopefully someone gets his interview spot!

I'm just bitter. I also came from a multi-lingual household where I was the first person in my family to go to college. I also have better numbers than he does with research publications. Unfortunately I'm also white, so whoop goes the 'holistic' background out the window.

Hey guys!

1st time poster in this thread but I have a quick question:
I got a CCLM interview. 🙂 Does that mean that this interview will count for both College and University track or are they two completely different processes?

Thank you!

Accepted to UT today! Interviewed in December. Very excited!
