Unless things have changed recently, the CCLCM adcomms have access to all essays you submit, including the MSTP research essay as well as the UP essays. I'm not sure if the UP adcomms can see the extra essays for CCLCM or MSTP.
 
My fingers are crossed for everybody who is hoping for a good decision today. Best of luck to you all.

Eggs or anyone else who has already heard back from Case:

So they send an email around 12:00ET and that email says... what? Does it simply state that "your status has been changed so check online", or it is an actual letter telling you their decision?

This only adds to my suspicion that the Cleveland Clinic is secretly a part of the future.

I checked my status online around 2 and it said "accepted" and then that disappeared and I started freaking out. Turns out they just were testing them early to make sure it went smoothly at 4 PM, when they were planning on releasing the decisions. Sure enough, I got an email at 4:05 PM congratulating me on my acceptance and telling me to check my status on iApply.

Good Luck!!! Excited to see who else will be joining us!
 
Pre-interview "Hold" for CCLCM. Nothing back on the other programs

I wish I knew what that meant for my chances, or if there is anything amiss with my application/essays.
Probably just another SDN worrier, but I submitted just a month ago so will not feel better until I get my first acceptance somewhere.

Side questions, on average and assuming good stats, out of how many interviews attended should an applicant expect to be accepted?

Also, note that PBL was cited as a reason for our school's selection. To all the pbl haters: If PBL is good enough for Watson...

Rejected CWRU College Track - Complete 9/20. Letter is dated 10/16, but did not appear on the website until 10/30. I did not receive an email.

EDIT: received email 10/31

I guess it's safe to say we won't be hearing any news today... I doubt they're staying at work much past 5...
 
I interviewed yesterday....but I feel like I screwed it up.

So I got stuck in traffic and ended up being about a half hour late to the interview. >.< (I left a lot of extra time, but the traffic was worse than I expected, especially with the rain from the storm).
I also got sick that weekend, and felt like i was going through a fever during the interviews. Otherwise the interviews themselves went alright I think. But, I have no clue how I did. I just feel like I stuck out by being late, and wasn't at my best cause I was pretty sick....ugh.

I LOVED this school, and I believe it's my top choice right now. Would it be a good idea to send a letter of intent this week? Or should I wait till later? Would it carry any weight or just make me seem desperate?

Otherwise, I am just happy to be back home riding out this storm. I wasn't sure if I would be able to make it back with the hurricane and all.

Awesome school. Wait on the LOI. You may get accepted. 🙂 I believe LOIs are typically written when one is on hold.

My same understanding also. It seems like you'd be placing the cart before the horse if you're telling them you intend on going to their school when they haven't even looked at your file for a decision.

Also, when people say that they saw their acceptance appear on the iApply page (yes, I know they're emailing, too haha), I'm assuming I should be looking for another "letter and envelope" icon to appear in the University Track Correspondence section, yes? Thanks!

That's what I'm assuming we'll see. I wonder if they'll push it back another day...they seem to be pretty good about updating their twitter on days when decisions are to be released.
 
alright guys. So I called the admissions office. Supposedly, the Director of admissions and other people on the committee are out at a conference in San Fran, and won't be back until later. They haven't even made final decisions on us yet.

So, we're going to have to wait even longer 🙁

Props for calling! I'm assuming the office wasn't sure which day the committee plans on reconvening for all us hopefuls? They had initially tweeted 6 days ago that "Monday's [10/29] meeting will review Oct 12-23rd", so they must have not realized they would have to delay it because of this conference.

yeah, it's pretty interesting, considering their twitter on Monday said that the ad com was trying to meet later that afternoon. I think the exact thing I was told was that the final decisions had not been made yet. So they may just be waiting for final decisions from the admissions director or something, and have already done preliminary analysis of our files.

Yes - even the title will tell all. (Mine says "hold after interview.")

I can totally buy that. Makes sense that they would have still met on Monday but can't give out decision until they've gotten the "seal of approval" from all those on the committee.

Hey guys,

My secondary was compelte back on 8/10 and I still haven't heard a peep. Curious if you guys think it's worth calling to make sure they haven't lost my application. I'm not really expecting an interview from Case, but I feel like I've already waited quite some time to hear something back from them as others who were complete way after me have aldready been getting pre-interview holds and rejections... Basically I want to know where my rejection is :laugh:

Anyone else been waiting as long as I have?

By the sound of a couple tweets they just sent, they're in Cali to visit schools (Stanford, Berkeley, etc). Whether they are actually going to the AAMC annual meeting I guess we can't be sure of. Hopefully they are only there to visit schools and will be able to send out decisions by the start of next week! :xf:

I got the 'Hold after Interview' status as well. 🙁

This may have been asked before, but it's a little unclear to me from the letter - is it possible to get accepted later in the season straight from the hold category, or are the options just rejection or waitlist (later in the season)?

"Hold After Interview" here too :annoyed:. Case is my #1 right now :cry:

After rereading it a couple times, I think post-interview hold=waitlist. It sounds like we'll remain on hold until May 1st unless they decide to accept us. On May 1st (or maybe earlier), they'll decide to place the "holdees" either on an alternate list (in case an accepted applicant goes somewhere else) or give them a rejection.

I thought post-interview hold=waitlist, like the terms are synonymous. If they're different, then maybe a hold could have a better outcome than directly to the waitlist? Or, if it is how you worded it, where holds are moved to rejection or waitlist, then I suppose it's worse since we're not even on the waitlist yet.

It says that they form the alternate list from the hold category later on in the season, which I interpreted to mean that not everyone in the hold category will end up being on the alternate list.

Agreed. Sorry, I edited my post right before you responded, but I'm pretty sure that's exactly how a waitlist works, too. I believe an alternate list is a short list of only the most qualified at the end of the year who have yet to receive an acceptance but are still hoping for one.
