For the Tracks, does anyone know if you can do two?

email here too. don't worry too much guys, I have a 7 VR and submitted 6/1, so i'm sure you guys are in the pipeline!

i think you only have time to realistically do one. otherwise you'd be spreading yourself too thin.

just submitted! hopefully turnaround is pretty fast. i'd love to interview here, especially since i have about $12 remaining on my metro card from my last visit -_-

i dont think theres any major difference between being on hold and having it ready to review...it seems a lot of people have been switching from one to the other

I hope so! I was "ready to review" ever since submitting my secondary on 7/8. It just changed today to the hold status..and I've been freaking out for the last 30 minutes -.-

I wouldn't worry...i went from being rdy to review to being on hold back to being ready to review lol

Thanks for giving hope. How many days between each stage?

Since this is my first school doing interview invites I'm a mess.

after initially submitting it was about 3 days until i was put on hold then after about 5 days I was put on re-review so dont despair!

dont despair!

GW interviews 1000-ish people. each interview day has about 10-15. right now there are probably still 950+ spots up for grabs. its early still

You guys are great.

For those of you interviewing on the 28th, does your online status reflect this or has it changed at all?

nope, mine actually changed back to the "credentials received" status lol.

Has anyone else stayed on hold for re-review status? I know tons of you have had your status change back and forth, but mine has been like that since 7/06!

Mine hasn't changed in a long while either, so you're not alone. Who knows how GW works, I'm just in let it be mode.

Complete last tuesday

I actually just looked and it said they recieved my app on the 11th so I am giving myself hope still lol. My status is still:

Your file is now complete. At this point we have received all the necessary credentials including your secondary application and your letters of recommendation in order for your application to be reviewed. While the committee does its best to review applications in a timely manner, please be aware that in order to do a thorough review of your file it may be several weeks until you hear from us again. We greatly appreciate your patience during the application process.

and it's been that way since I submitted.

This is the truth. I was placed on hold for two week, received an interview shortly there after and was accepted immediately. You have to write letters of interest and such to get off hold. I was planning on attending GW until I got accepted to Georgetown. Couldn't turn down my undergrad.

This will be the longest and most stressful 7/8 months of your life. Take a valium and relax.

There is no reason to call them as they don't want to give you an interview right away. Maybe in the coming weeks they will re-review you and give you one.

All of you take my advice: If you get put on hold or re-review take a deep breath and wait or move on to another school. If they want to give you an interview they will and putting you on hold is a way of saying we don't want to interview you right now.

HoyaDoc25, if you see this -

I'm not sure if these two pieces of advice are contradictory or if they apply in different circumstances (e.g. after the interview). Do you recommend writing a letter of intent at some point to get off the pre-interview hold list, or do you recommend just waiting for them to re-evaluate? I realize that I don't need to send a letter right now, but eventually maybe?

wait, you mean to tell me that there are only 10-15 interview invites given for that day and 2-3 of those that got one, out of the thousands applied, were on SDN?....

I can't speak for hoya docs intentions of course, but I think there's a big difference between writing a meaningful letter of interest shortly into the app season (not this early) and frequently calling/badgering the admissions staff if you don't get an II right away (not that I think this is your intention, just interpreting what I think hoya doc meant)

lol this looks to be the case sir. and yes at my interview day last year there were only 15 people there.

i don't know much about this process....how many people were in your group in your other schools' interivews?

I only had 3 interviews last year but this was by far the smallest one. at MCW there were over 50, at the university of wisconsin there were maybe 30 or 40.

also, do we know what % of people that get interviews are accepted?

no and the admissions staff is not very forthcoming with any type of info like that. but considering they interview about 1000 and the class size is 170 we can assume at least 20% with the waitlist and everything.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking also. If you don't mind sharing, were you put on hold before interviewing last year and how long before you got the interview?

no never got put on hold last year, got the interview 2 days after submitting in September. this year got the interview a week later, no hold.

I would bet that you'll be accepted this time. 👍

congrats on all the interview invites. I hope my turn comes soon.

Thanks, and good luck!

Do any other schools interview in August. I really wasn't expecting anything before like late September/October.

I know that UC Davis and University of Chicago do

Why shouldn't we submit the secondary if we arent complete yet?

There are rumors abound that submitting a secondary before your primary can result in auto-rejection. Could be just a rumor, but why risk it.
