Congratulations to all those with february interview!!... NOw, can I have mine? I swear Howard wait time will give me a heart attack...

it is hard, but you gotta be patient.. there is still plenty of time. They interview until end of April I think.
 
I just have a question for everyone. If Howard wasn't your top choice, would you attend if that was the only medical school that you got accepted to?

Why would anyone apply to a school that they had no intention of attending?

I hear ya. I was interviewed in january but havent heared back from them yet. Its has been more than a month since my inerview date. I dont know what is taking them this long.

I interviewed in January as well. Hopefully acceptances come out this week.

After my interview I really want to attend the school, but family pressure has a lot to do with it. I don't know what's best for me and if accepted I'm almost sure that I'm going to attend but I just wanted opinions.

What are their reservations if you don't mind sharing? And would they rather you reapply? That is a risk, as you may not get in anywhere next cycle.

I believe at the end of the day, you need to listen to your family, but think things through do what you feel is best for you.

I see, the way you worded the question sounded like you would only consider the school if it was your very last option. It made me wonder what exactly you were trying to find out.

If I am fortunate enough to get an interview, I will certainly go to the interview. Based on how well everyone seems to enjoy their experience on interview day, I anticipate that I would really enjoy the school. Under that assumption I would certainly go to this school.

If I have options for more that one school I will have to weigh in factors such as location, cost of attendance, and how I feel about the school after the interview.

Hopefully, you can get more specific information about Howard to help you decide.

Of course there are factors like location, costs, and general feeling about the school. Remember that the school you attend, you will be there for the next four years. Hopefully you get into a school that you would like to attend. One of my friends didn't get into their top choice school and got accepted to another one. Although he didn't get into his top school the first time, and so he applied again and got accepted. Good luck. :luck:
 
Is Howard receptive to letters of interest and updates PRE-interview?
If so, who should it be addressed to? Dead or admissions office?

About 99% sure I was accepted. Email sent to wait for another email and then call for decision, which is kind of weird. Happy to have an acceptance, but I want some financial aid. Does anyone whether they give scholarships or not.

Yes, they do. You need to submit the fafsa plus their supplemental fin aid forms (on website) for consideration.
 
Has anyone who filled out the online application instead of the paper application received an interview?

My status page says App Complete with a green check mark and below that it says Interview with a little lock symbol and says not scheduled.

I am assuming that is what everyone's looks like if they have not been invited to interview. I just wanted to make sure I did not miss anything. I was guessing the little lock would change to a link if you were invited to interview. Am I correct?

If you get an interview, you will get an email to schedule your dates. Maybe it will change online as well.

Hi everyone,

Congrats to all who received acceptances and interview invites! I retook my MCAT in January so I'm anxiously awaiting my scores and really hoping for an interview invite at Howard. It is my absolute top choice and I would be thrilled to go here 🙂 Praying that we all make it God willing 🙂

Never say financial aid, counselors for some reason think that people just mean the "financial aid" LOANS available. Say scholarships/grants. EVERYONE gets loans (they are basically guaranteed).

I wouldn't mind interviewing for their program either. I hope we both get interviews. I haven't heard anything about this particular program. I suppose to call them and inquire about my status but keep forgetting to do so because I miss the calling hours due to the different time zones 😎.
 
Does anybody know how to find their Howard University I.D. Number? I'm trying to fill out the financial aid info and I don't remember receiving one.

When filling out their financial aid form, I just left the ID number part blank and it worked out fine. Not sure, but I dont think we receive an ID number until later. 🙂

You can also try emailing or calling Ms. Jones in the admissions office. I believe all accepted and confirmed (paid deposit) students are already assigned one.
 
I talked to Ms.Walk and it seems like I will not be getting an interview. 🙁
Gotta study again for MCAT, take a couple more science classes and re-apply.
On the bright side, I have a baby daughter on the way and get to spend a few eztra months with her before starting med school.

Sorry to hear that hsaid. I don't think I will be getting that interview either but I can't complain because I do have an acceptance. At least you can start working on your application again to make it stronger for next year. Good luck though.
