Haven't received my admission packet yet (accepted) -- is there an academic calendar for this upcoming year on the website anywhere? I've done a lot of looking and can only find the PDF for last year's calendar? Does a calendar come with the packet..?

There's a preliminary calendar. I'll PM you.

Congrats. Were you on the high priority wait list or the regular? Were you born in 1983? If so, that would make you an older non-traditional applicant like myself. Are you going to accept the offer?

I was on the HP list. And no I was not born in 1983 haha. Deciding between another school and Jeff right now.

Sorry thought the 83 referenced your birth year. What's the other school? I hope this doesn't make me sound like a jerk, but I'm kind of hoping you go with the other school. I'm on the Jeff HP list and it seems like it's my only hope at this point. I was on 5 wait lists and not a single one moved an inch except for Jefferson.

Seconded haha

Does anyone know how many positions are floating around out there and how big the HP wait list is?

is the alternate list not even looked at until the HP movement is complete?

So, for the student health form, we have a doctor fill it out, we input the information on the online data bank, and we also send in the actual form to the Jefferson health office (or somewhere else)?

This process is a little confusing...

I have no idea- seeing my doctor Friday to get everything done. Why we have to subscribe to a $25 service just to submit the form is beyond me.

Hopefully, it should come soon! I'm still holding out for summer housing though perhaps that's asking for a bit much.

Out of curiosity, did they send you an email about this stuff or did you just come across the prematriculation requirements on your own?

I never received any sort of notification about pre-matriculation requirements. I found out about it by searching through the website. I suspect that they just leave it for you to find on your own.

There's a link with requirements in the preliminary academic calendar email. The link was dead though...... Lol.

I'm definitely still on here :p ill make sure to post if I ever come off!

How long did it take for the acceptance offer to arrive through the mail after getting the phone call? Got off the high priority wait list on tuesday and just want to make sure I didn't skip over it.

Good luck to all still waiting!

no call here. I know this has been asked many times, but if anyone has any insight about how many people are on the wait list or have already been accepted from the wait list, I am dying to know.

Yes I second that! Definitely want to know if there is any possibility of getting off it...really not trying to start my primary again but that's what it's looking like

I don't think we will ever know. They don't release that information. Honestly, I'm beginning to think that the high priority alternate list is not as prestigious as I thought it was. It seems like everyone is on the HP list. I have yet to meet anyone on the regular wait list. Is that posible?

my thoughts exactly...what is a high-priority waitlist worth if like 100-200 people are on it?

I figured getting high priority meant that I had a decent chance of hearing back from them about an acceptance?

As did I. Something tells me that it is much more of a gimmick than an actual high priority. I'm getting a little nervous. There doesn't seem to be any more movement.

I'm on the alt. list :/

Is there anyone out there who was offered a positioin off of the wait list and may decline the offer? Just want to know if there is any hope of the wait list moving.

You should not measure waitlist movement by what you see posted on SDN. In reality, only a small percentage of medical school applicants even belong to SDN, and not all who do post on the site. Absent calling the admissions office and asking, which is unlikely to elicit an informative response, you have no real way of knowing. You just have to be patient, email Dr. Callahan periodically about your continued strong interest in attending Jeff, and keep your fingers crossed. Good luck!

Agreed, and i doubt obsessively checking as tempting as it may be is going to help any of us at this point. What will be will be. (Not that it's going to stop me or anyone haha)

Could not agree more. Many med students i know have no idea about SDN so the percentage of movement around here, while discouraging should not be considered the overall norm.

if you're moving from the west coast and have questions, feel free to PM me. M1 at jeff currently.

Accepted student here trying to get all the pre matriculating requirements completed. Does Jeff require a drug test? If so is it done at our physical with our own doctor? Is it pre 1st year or pre 3rd year?

No drug test in order to matriculate. Drug test is only done before pediatrics rotation in third year or any rotation down at DuPont.

There's no mention of a drug test on the matriculation page, so I'd assume no... At least as far as matriculation goes. It might be a different story later on?

Also if you are getting a stipend for research/work study for the summer after M1 you get drug tested.
