Just a tip guys--please remember that your student interview is not something you should be blowing off--it's equally weighted as the MMI...
I had a great time at the interview yesterday! Everyone was very friendly and the day was very well organized. As SisterDisco08 had mentioned previously, there is a nondisclosure agreement before the interviews. Therefore, applicants are not allowed to disclose any information about the interviews. The whole day was great though. The students were very friendly and were open to questions.
Ok great, thanks! I'm looking forward to itEvery applicant interviewed has been asked to sign a confidentiality agreement with CHM prohibiting them from speaking of any of our MMI specifics. The best advice I can give you is the google general MMI tips, know your application well, relax, and have fun with it. Interview day at MSU is not stressful at all.
Ok cool, the MMI is what I'm worried about... Good to knowI have to agree with Reaction! Interview day in Grand Rapids was made to be as non-stressful as possible. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and willing to answer questions.
For those of you worried about the MMI process, just relax. I didn't know what to expect so I looked up tips online, reviewed my own application, and made a point to remember to breathe - it's not as scary as you may be expecting.
Any other In-Staters out there waiting on an interview decision? No update since the "prelim review" status back in the middle of August ha....

My buddy with 3.98/39/IS and exceptionally well-rounded hasn't heard back either. Interesting criteria they must be looking for.

Do any of you guys know how MSU is going to inform us if we are accepted or not tomorrow? Do they do phone calls or email?
Ahhhhhhhhhhh just got the call! Accepted! Wooooooooo
I interviewed 9/21... SUPER excited! I've had just an amazing day totally blessed
I wish! Two exams in the next few days so I'll be doing a happy dance from behind a computer screen for now haha

Me too! I interviewed on 9/21. Congrats.
I got put on the Alternate List back on 10/03. I wonder why so far ahead of the 10/17 date? I interviewed on 9/14.
Sisterdisco or anyone else know if MSU accepts letter updates?
Right but I'm not actually sure how they're facilitating this exchange. Check? Online? Paypal? Where do I send it? Etc. I still haven't even received the email saying I'm in, just the phone call from Dr. Maurer
Many schools don't interview applicants who be more likely to attend another school
Fair enough, but I'm nowhere near a 39 MCAT and I haven't heard anything since August while others have gotten II that were complete in September.
Was just hoping I would have heard some sort of news, good or bad, by now ha.
Pirates- They emailed me on Sept. 26 at 4pm, the day after the call from Dr. Maurer. It has all the details you'll need to get going. Lot of hurry up and wait, I've finished my background check/$100 deposit and am just waiting for final acceptance at this point. Congrats to you all! I'm excited to be classmates!
Are you IS? Sounds like we're in a similar situation. None of the MI state schools have gotten back to me either since being complete the beginning of August. Have you heard from Wayne or UofM (or CMU, though I didn't apply there)?
If you were placed on the alternate list, hope is not lost... promise. =)
Were you early admission? That would be the only way you could have heard back before 10/15.. and that would also explain you interviewing on 9/14
