so in the interview feedback section, there are a bunch of people saying they were asked who "on the news" would they interview. does anyone have any idea what this means? what does "on the news" mean? a newscaster? someone IN the news? anyone who is famous? i assume the question is intended to make sure the applicant has some sense of what is going on in the world around them, but what a strange way to ask.

I am interviewing here tomorrow. Buffalo will be my first interview and I am very excited. I just flew in from California today and I must say that the partnership the school has with the hotels in the area really make traveling there easier.

Thanks! Hotel Indigo was my first choice in booking a room but they were full when I called (2 nights before interview). I chose the second closest location, The Holiday Inn, which provides identical benefits (shuttle to and from airport and to campus and free wi-fi). Judging by the popularity of Hotel Indigo and from my experiences with the Holiday Inn, I think you will have a very happy experience with either hotel.

The age old buffalo native debate is Anchor Bar (the original) vs. Duffs (some would argue the best) personally I like the style of anchor bar and the taste of Duffs. Also, if you spend the weekend bring your passport and take a trip over to the falls. Don't bother hanging out on the US side, go straight to Canada (if you have a car, cab fare to Canada is probably too expensive).

Anyone else experience a similar issue?

Everyone...faculty, med students, and specially my fellow interviewees were super nice. BTW were you there when the elevator malfunctioned? That was perhaps the most memorable part of the day. This was my first interview, but I felt some sort of camaraderie with you guys interviewing with me. Definitely had fun chatting in the waiting lounge. Wish you the best of luck! Loved Buffalo, keeping fingers crossed.

Yes, just call and pick any day you want (I think interviews take place every Wednesday).

I think that you're presented that evening and you get evaluated by the committee for a score.

Decision should be available the next morning after the interview.

Yes. They also mention this during interview day but, of course, all decisions go out no earlier than October 15th. So if you interview after this date, you will hear back the next day!

I stayed at the Marriott and they had a free shuttle to the campus (dropped us off right in front of the building) and a free shuttle to the airport. It was really convenient!

Also, Buffalo may have started a student host program by now? You may wanna call and ask.

I'm really hoping to get an interview here soon. It is one of my top choices. Has anyone else seen the plan to build the new campus downtown? The new facilities look awesome, and will be great for Buffalo. Now if only the Bills give the fine citizens of Buffalo something to cheer about lol. I think HOK was the same design firm that did the Commonwealth new medical campus, and theirs looks outstanding.

I actually am hoping to take an unofficial visit there in the next few weeks.
