Sorry to hear that. Was it through email or regular mail?

Has anyone who interviewed 11/28 or later heard back yet? I think they had said that they would send decisions by early January at the latest.

I interviewed Nov. 28 and got an acceptance letter this week. They sent it to my parents' address so I don't know when it actually arrived, but my dad told me about it in passing when I called him today. Thanks, dad. 🙄

Hey guys! I haven't received any responses in the e-mail but my status application has the word interview, with a lock next to it, and it says "not scheduled yet." Does this mean that they're still looking at my application? Or pre-interview hold?

Wishing very badly for an interview! Thanks! Congrats to everyone who got in!

It doesn't mean anything, other than you haven't been invited to interview yet and you aren't rejected. Being on hold doesn't change anything in the status.

Hey,
Interviewed Sep 24th, accepted mid October:laugh:. Anyone know if we are supposed to fill out other financial paperwork now besides the FAFSA?
Also, my acceptance packet did not include an application for the Pre-summer matriculation program (I was told it would). Did those not go out yet?

Does anyone know if there are any opportunities to travel abroad at the University of Maryland??? I've been trying to find international/global health programs on their website but can't seem to find anything....

Hello guys i'm a Maryland resident so UMDSOM is my top choice. I was thinking about submitting a LOI but im not sure if that would do any good as i am still pre-interview. I dont even know if there are any interview slots left..if anyone has done it and it helped getting an interview let me know.
Thanks and good luck to all of you!

At this point I think you have nothing to lose...

Question for the group - does UMD offer merit scholarships? Can't find anything on the website.

Got an II today!! I was put on hold sometime in november too. Crazy, i thought umd was out of my league. Scheduled for march!

Does anyone know if Maryland is open to receiving any additional LORs post-interview?

Did anyone receive a confirmation email after submitting a LOI or update?

I sent an update letter in like December and don't think I ever received a confirmation email. Also, I was rejected today, pre-interview, and I am in-state.

I submitted mine around the same time. Sorry about the rejection. Good luck with Georgetown. I live in DC and it's beautiful; you will enjoy it if you get in.

Thanks. And, yeah, I am definitely hoping for good news from Georgetown. *Crosses fingers*

waitlisted.... does anyone know about the waitlist movement for maryland?

Just got in via snail mail, OOS. Interviewed 1/7!

Completed 1/20/13 (applied MD/MAS).

Just got news on 2/12/13 that I was put on hold for further review. And in regards to submitting a LOI - would i submit the letter to admissions office or to the dean? any advice is greatly appreciated thanks!!

Rejected pre- interview. This one stings, because it's my only state school with reasonable admissions standards.

I haven't heard anything since I was put on hold back in November, but people with better stats than me are getting rejected so I don't know what to think and I'm OOS. I sent updated grades and a LOI in December because I have a pretty strong rising trend. Are interview invites still being sent out or is there no hope at this point?

I submitted mine to the admissions office email.

Does anyone know how the decision process works here post-interview? As in, when and how do they meet and decide? Do they inform you as soon as they make the decision about your file or do they wait a bit before telling you?

for admitted students: do we need to turn in the health form along with the other forms? the directions for the health forms are a bit unclear for me

I called the health center. It is a pre-matriculation requirement, so in other words they don't need health forms till the summer.

+1, and also, if you've been accepted, do they call you, or just let you know through snail mail??

For some reason, every other Monday comes to mind for the adcom meetings. Not entirely sure though.

I believe many acceptance decisions were about 3 weeks post interview. Not sure about waitlist/rejections.

Acceptances have been by phone call or packet in the mail.

Thanks for the heads-up/speculation/idk! I would give an arm and a leg to get into UMD SOM except that would be kinda counterproductive 😉

"Waitlisted" OOS/ interviewed jan 30 - does anyone know how the waitlist works here? They said I would get more information in May but that seems pretty far away?

How'd you find out? Snail mail? I interviewed the same day so I'm getting pretty nervous :scared:

Do letters go to the permanent or temporary address?

Do letters go to the permanent or temporary address?

Permanent. Definitely a shock, I thought I was getting it at my new address but my parents got it.

Did accepted students receive the email about the Prematriculation Summer Program?
